Joe Cocker was an English singer known for his gritty, bluesy voice & dynamic stage performances that featured expressive body movements. He recorded a few Beatles' songs "With A Little Help From My Friends", "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" & "Something". Other hits were "Up Where We Belong" (a duet with Jennifer Warnes), "Delta Lady", "Darling Be Home Soon", "Cry Me A River", "Feelin' Alright", "The Letter" etc.
Got that Detroit Grit. Like Leslie West. They won't be forgotten.

One of my all time favorite moments in music was when Joe Cocker covered the Beatles song “With A Little Help From My Friends” at Woodstock. That guttural scream he hits at one point is simply amazing.

This was a Billy Preston song but became Joe Cocker's signature song in 1974, it hit #5 on billboard top. The first time I heard him sing this song it was a show that came on late at night, Joe and his girlfriend Eileen Webster who had dated for 13 yrs just broke up, Joe Cocker came out to sing this song and he almost didn't make it through the last 2 words "TO Me" and I balled like a baby 😢😢😢. Every song Joe Cocker sang were covers but man he could make them his own. In 1983 Joe Cocker had is first and only #1 hit with a song he sang with Jennifer Warnes and it wasn't a cover called Up Where We Belong (not my favorite) Joe does an amazing job as usual. I have to tell you that there is a video on Saturday Night Live of John Balochi (I know I just tore up his last name) 😅😅😅 John is doing a skit playing Joe Cocker and when Joe Cocker saw it he actually thought John was lip syncing to his song but it was all John. Joe went on Saturday Night Live and performed with John and the video is so funny and they sound awesome. You might want to check it out. Great reaction once again thanks
