The influencer industry in general is built on parasocial relationships with their followers. They cultivate a fake friendship with their audience to sell them stuff. It's very easy to get sucked in if you're not careful. It's especially dangerous when it comes to wellness content. Most of the influencers out there do not have recgonised qualifications. They just talk with confidence. Crucially, they tend not to cite scientific sources for their claims, or say that all the conventional evidence is wrong (conspiracy theory territory). I noticed it a lot in the keto community when I first started my low carb journey. I quickly learned which channels to avoid.

My cousin has a cow and all we have is raw milk 😅 never gotten sick, but they do take good care of her and will not give us milk if she's unwell. Also we always store carefully, and a lot of it goes towards cheese etc so it gets 'cooked' I suppose. I'm not against pasteurized milk at all, but the taste of raw milk is unmatched. In saying that, I wouldn't get it from a random source or sell it on or anything. So like everything you just have to be balanced and reasonable.
Same! I used to live in a literal village with goats and fresh goat milk is so good! Now that I live in a city I miss it, but I definitely wouldn't risk buying it because I don't 100% know if the animal is taken care of properly, how it's stored and transported etc Plus those prices are...yikes
The cooking is basically like pasteurization in the results. Pasteurization is simply holding the milk and a specific high temp to kill the bacteria for a while. Cooking milk to make cheese does the same thing, although there is still a possibility it could be dangerous because some bacteria (like botulinum) can only be killed above 100 degrees Celsius, whoch is impossible to do at home because water (main ingredient of milk) boils at 100 Celsius and therefore can’t get any hotter. The only way to kill these types of bacteria is through jarring or pressure cooking, or pasteurization.
We also forget that not many of our ancestors were drinking milk. It had to be preserved pretty much straight away. I do love a well made raw milk cheese.
For a cow to produce milk they need to get pregnant and give birth to a calf just having a pet cow will not give you milk they have to have been pregnant and given birth just like any female animal or human.
Absolutely loving these kind of shorts…these are great for those of us who might get triggered by longer videos. Lots of info but nothing that puts me into a tail spin…thank you!
Raw milk from a healthy animal in sanitized containers is not going to cause food born illness-unless your body can't handle the probiotics. Something that has fascinated me time and time again is having hygienic raw milk on the counter and pasteurized milk on the counter (in their respective containers). The raw milk turns itself into yogurt or cheese (which one depends on the temperature). The pasteurized milk becomes unsafe to consume. I'm not against pasteurized milk. Currently, the highest quality milk I can get that I know is sanitary is grass fed ultra-pasteurized milk. If I could find a farmer that had as sanitary a process as the last farmer I used, before moving, I would use their milk. I haven't found one yet though. Whatever side of the fence you're on with the pasteurized milk issue, I think most of us are in agreement on one thing. It should be legal to buy and sell properly labeled raw milk. If we can legally poison ourselves buying cigarettes, we should legally be able to "poison" ourselves with raw milk.
I have a food sensitivities that trigger migraines. I just want what is in the food to be labeled. ‘Natural Flavorings’ in damn near everything is making life impossible and food shopping stressful.
Gah companies that refuse to even hint at what kind of scents they use drive me up the walls. I'm sensitive to some smells some make it painful to breathe others trigger migraines (and others still are bad to have in closed spaces with pets or small children) my mum got some plug in air fresheners the damn things didn't list what they used for their scents just what the final scent was I had to email them to find out what they used and found out yeah I can't be in the same room as one of them because it will make me wheezy because of the cinnamon essential oil in it
I have found that aspartame is a migraine trigger for me. So I noticed that it comes with a nice bold warning for the folks with pku, so I just look for that warning now. Much quicker than searching for the type of sweetener used.

Tell that to people that can’t drink pasteurized milk but raw is totally fine. The enzyme to digest lactose is denatured in the pasteurizing process- also been drinking raw for many years 😄 no food borne illnesses
Never had any issues drinking our own raw milk. A lot of the illnesses were to do with the handling of the milk during and after collection. We are 6th generation and no issues or any more allergies than the next person. Having said that I wouldn’t drink fresh milk from someone’s else’s dairy ;)

She’s wrong on fruit juice, well kind of. It’s not as bad as soda as soda is just sugar water and fruit juice has SOME micronutrients. But basically every developed nation in the world’s health agencies recommends either just not consuming fruit juice or drink it sparingly. Here is what my country, Canada, health agency says: Fruit juice and fruit juice concentrates are high in sugars. Replace juice with water. Choose whole or cut vegetables and fruits instead of juice.
Except that it isn’t just health influencers that warn against fruit juice… is major health agencies like Canada, Australia, France, and so on. So no offence to the poster, but in general we should heed the major medical and health organizations advice and recommendations first

I think she’s saying that you are more likely to be even fuller with eating the fruits as fruits than a smoothie. The smoothie process does some of the digestive work for us.
That’s only pertinent to juicing. Abby is talking about smoothies. Smoothies are basically pre chewed food. So yes while there may be a very slight increase in glycemic index, there 100% is still fiber and it is hardly any different from eating the whole fruits. Why would there be no nutritional value?? Your pancreas does not know the difference between the sugar consumed in a soda and the sugar consumed in fruit juice. You’ll never gain weight eating apples, but you definitely will drinking apple juice, and you’ll miss out on the nutritional value of the apple as well.
If you eat over 2000 calories of apples you will gain weight and fat Likewise If you drink juice and soda every day consuming less than 2000 calories you will lose weight The only thing that contributes to weight loss or gain is the amount of calories you are consuming

I wish wellness influencer would stop quoting their bs advice like it’s truth!
I do Emergen-C and it makes me feel protected. That means less stress because I am taking steps to do something to prevent illness. I can't always control being around children and adults with the hygiene level of toddlers.
It changed my life. Very few colds now, and they are not so intense. Seven years now and I’m a believer.
Kinda relived I’m clearly so out of it that I don’t know about a lot of these ones!
Wait!!! Pasteurization is supposed to make milk easier to drink, that’s like it’s whole reason to exist! That’s like saying “not washing your hands EVER prevents the spread of diseases” like what??
A lot of the pasteurization requirements came from political movements though. It's a shame that is many places it's illegal to even sell raw milk.
Just be careful, it only takes once
For a cow to produce milk
they need to get pregnant and give birth to a calf just having a pet cow will not give you milk they have to have been pregnant and given birth just like any female animal or human.
It is illegal to sell or distribute raw milk in the US. IDK about if you raise your own cows, goats ... their milk.
Thank you! So true
This idea that stress over ingredients is actually worse for you than consuming the ingredient themselves has been helpful for me.
That raw milk one is so real. PLEASE take advantage of the pasteurization process. Please.
I wish everyone would pass on the raw milk but we could get the raw cheese started in this country!
So misinformed
Love this short lol its the reason i came to this channel. The protein shaker and powder has got to be cheaper though its disappointing 😬
The raw milk crowd is going to have a fit! They can’t fathom that some of us just don’t like cows milk. There is no world in which I’m purposely drinking cows milk, raw or otherwise.
Raw milk is milk from any mammal not just cows, they are dozens of other mammals milked on this planet
Abbey I have a question- if you can choose only one on a random day: is it better for you to push yourself to exercise or destress and take a nap? Which do you think is healthier?
I love all of them except for the fruit juice one personally. At least for my body and how fruit juice makes me feel and how I consume it, it's just as bad as soda for me and I need to cut it out completely to feel good.
Im have sensory problems with textures so fruit smoothies are pretty much the only way im getting my fruit and veggies in.
ALL GREAT POINTS!!
Also raw foods have antinutrients.
Yeah that not obsessing over ingredients thing only works if you have no allergies or sensitivities.
Just to clarify - Did you interpret her comment as including people who are appropriately cautious of ingredients they are allergic to? Because to me she is referring to people who end up listening to influencer fearmongering over GRAS ingredients.
@@eh2203I didn't interpret, merely took her words at face value.
emergen-c isnt going to save you from anything other than a vitamin C deficiency or thirst
I agree with alot of this besides the Costco chicken carcinogens. Yes stress absolutely causes alot of issues in your body but carcinogens harm your body at a cellular level and should be avoided period.
Caragenen or how it’s spelled is seaweed by its own name, not a carcinogen. It makes food have a more pleasant texture.
now I’m scared of Costco chicken for no reason
It’s just seaweed, fam lol😂
More stress from worrying about ingredients in my foods.. stress kills, but it's a game of self discipline and is funny to me, even looking up the words makes me feel smart but when it might get stressful when I have no time due to being on others time schedule and I have to hurry I just go for the basics that I know are quality..
Stress kills but I make it a game and laugh to myself as others are sick and I'm feelin fine..
My no chemicals diet has not let me down. I do love cooking and I'm great at it and even love to make my own condiments as well as coulies an sauces for veg..
Oh I live at an agriculture school as a dorm manager an the community kitchen is for the microwaved foods and they are in and out quickly leaving me to create..🎉
Please please plllleeeeaaassseee create a video on the truth about dairy vs. nondairy milks. Whenever I go to the grocery store now I panic because of all of the controversies surrounding American dairy milk or how almond milk is the “more nutrient and low calorie option”. Which one do I buy? %2, Whole milk, full-fat, fat-free, goat, almond, cashew, pistachios, coconut, organic? The list goes on😅 SOS I need your help😭
I know youre not asking me but I would say the one you enjoy the best :) and maybe do turnovers to have benefits from all of them !
The one with fruit juice really surprised. A lot of people, even doctors like Dr Mike warn against it because it has too much sugar - but when i wanna drink something with flavor, what am i supposed to drink?
She’s wrong on fruit juice, well kind of. It’s not as bad as soda as soda is just sugar water and fruit juice has SOME micronutrients. But basically every developed nation in the world’s health agencies recommends either just not consuming fruit juice or drink it sparingly.
Here is what my country, Canada, health agency says:
Fruit juice and fruit juice concentrates are high in sugars. Replace juice with water. Choose whole or cut vegetables and fruits instead of juice.
@gamingwhilebroken2355 But I wanna drink something with flavor. Neither water or whole fruits serve that purpose.
Raw milk people getting all upset about boiling(pasteurization) and trying to demonize it.
I LOVE when you do these!!!!!
One of the first things my nutrition teacher said to our class was that she would never willingly drink raw milk 😂
Omg the 8lb of fruit and veg people 😳
Sounds like a way to guarantee you spend the day in the bathroom
There is as much sugar or if not more than soda ..
Thank you for taking about juice. I don’t drink it often but I go on kicks now and then with Pom, Grapefruit, Orange. 🎉
Except that it isn’t just health influencers that warn against fruit juice… is major health agencies like Canada, Australia, France, and so on. So no offence to the poster, but in general we should heed the major medical and health organizations advice and recommendations first
Fruit smoothies get me to add fruit to my diet. That's good in my book. Also, anyone else hate bananas in smoothies? Like strawberry banana, may be red, but it just tastes like banana in my book
Carrageenan is one of the triggers for my Crohn's symptoms, and even I don't have time or energy to worry about every food it could be found in lol. As long as it's not the top ingredient, I'll probably be just fine.
Smoothie is the only way I’ll eat kale and with yogurt and protein powder it’s just fine.
Can you do one about ramen and “cheap” foods most of America relies on since eggs are 7$ now
Must just be where you live, all the stores here have them for 2 to 3 dollars, that's for a dozen of store brand not organic.
I have friends who swear by raw milk, and I don’t know how they can use it. It’s so disgusting.
I'm sick right now and I know the healthy food people would hate on me for ordering Domino's and chewing on that all day. But imo I'm too sick to cook, or go shopping for easy stuff and Domino's is cheap calories. My immune system needs fuel to keep me alive and fight whatever this cold is. I'll eat better when I'm not sick af.
Actually it's proven than if one is sick and craving foods like pizza or fried chicken is because the body needs the fuel in the carbs to get better... the body needs the protein and fats in the cheese /meat to fuel the bodies' fight response against the virus
People are about to be maaaaad
Tell us to my mom who thinks that having a small glass of orange juice is the same thing as eating a cupcake for breakfast
People are drinking unpasteurized milk?!?! Why ?? Just why….
This gal is great! Always love her content ❤
If I’m making the smoothie from whole fruit, isn’t it the same thing? I feel really full from my smoothies.
I think she’s saying that you are more likely to be even fuller with eating the fruits as fruits than a smoothie. The smoothie process does some of the digestive work for us.
How dare you attack me with that emergenC comment 😂😅
I hear eating right make you taste better.
Can you caption your videos please? Thanks 💜
Do you elaborate on this stuff somewhere?
Like the point about juice
She looks so healthy
This woman doesn't have a clue
Preach 🙌
Raw milk I bet will piss people off
are some people actually sensitive to carageenan tho?
Love your sassy 💁♀️☺️
I'm betting on raw milk 😅
not so quick, my english isn't that good! 😅😂
wait pls expand on Zinc👀👀
But isn't the issue with juice that it is full of sugar and additives and no fiber, causing a spike in blood sugar and giving no nutritional value..?
That’s only pertinent to juicing. Abby is talking about smoothies. Smoothies are basically pre chewed food. So yes while there may be a very slight increase in glycemic index, there 100% is still fiber and it is hardly any different from eating the whole fruits.
Why would there be no nutritional value?? You are still getting all of the vitamins, minerals, fiber, phytonutrients, and macronutrients.
Thats why you have to make your own and add oatmeal and keep thr pulp to increase the fiber
That's why you look for no added sugar juice.
@@gas-lyghtchristianson-ashl5041she mentioned fruit juice not just the smoothie.
@@missjo2036oh yeah I totally missed that! Abbey is right though. Fruit juice still contains a large amount of nutrients like minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. Glycemic index is higher than whole form but still not nearly as bad as added refinedS sugar. Soda contains no nutrients and is horrible for the body.
oh wait is juice okay? i thought it has just as much sugar as soda and always went with the logic “if it’s gonna be sugary anyway might as well be a soda”
Real fruit juice at least has vitamins and minerals. Soda doesn't.
If you are worried about sugar for some reason don't have either though.
Makes since thanks

The raw milk one for sure lmao
I know so many people who drink raw milk and I’ve never heard if anyone getting sick from it. I’ve also never gotten sick from it.
Congratulations. Hardly anybody actually dies from it.
Yeah her statement in raw milk is straight lies
Ok? That doesn’t means it’s not dangerous lol. There are plenty of people who HAVE gotten sick from it. Just because your experience is different doesn’t change the fact that it’s much more dangerous to drink raw milk than pasteurized, and it has barely any of the advantages that people claim
@@sophiadebar382 it does make awesome squeaky cheese that doesn't need refrigeration.
@@pattyofurnitureIt also makes for deadly tuberculosis if you're stupid enough to keep doing it.
Although i'm willing to bet whatever you have to do to make that cheese pasteurized the damn thing. Fools
I love these
She suggested carrageenan wasnt toxic. RUFKM?
I truly do not underatand the rhing people have about raw dairy. Like... Its so fucking dangerous?? Just, whyyyyy
do you eat a lot of carrots
Can you slow down a little please?
The juice one!
I love the length of your hair! Very becoming
People gettin mad at this one lol
Have you been eating a lot of carrots??! 🥕 Carotenemia:)
I know who the raw milk comment was directed at 😂
I love this 😅
girl ilysm but this editing is giving me motion sickness 😭
Let’s say someone only has access to raw milk and dairy is a staple in their diet and makes up a large chunk of their calorific needs. Would heating it to 150F (63C) or higher for 30 minutes make it “safe”? Asking out of curiosity 😊
I don’t think 63C would kill any bacteria.
100C is required to kill bacteria so no. Knowing where your milk comes from, how the animal is kept, how healthy the animal is, how the milk is stored etc is more important if you want to try drink raw milk rathe than trying to pasteurize it yourself
I really want to hear what you have to say but am struggling. Could you slow down your speech a little please?
raw milk isn't bad lol
I can happily drink raw milk and I can't drink pasturized or lactose free milk. I get what you're saying about it not being easier on the gut, but what many of them mean is they've had similar experiences to mine. It's not at all uncommon. I don't think it's a placebo, because I was fully expecting raw milk to make me as sick as pasturized milk does. I don't drink cow's milk anymore and I would caution anyone wanting to try raw milk. There's definitely something going on that makes raw milk more agreeable with some of us though.
The milk one lmao. The amount of people who just don't understand milk, pasteurization, or micro organisms astounds me.
But too much emergen C can give you kidney stones 👍🏻
I think the juice one is going to make the wellness Influencers go crazy
Listen as a child, my mother went to a farmer and bought unpasteurized milk, and that's all we drank. I'm good
You should slow your video down a bit you talk to fast. I had to turn subtitles on. Had it been a real video I would have been able to go to setting and slow it down my self. However I guess this is a reel? As I don’t have the option.
God this made me crave fruit juice
Your pancreas does not know the difference between the sugar consumed in a soda and the sugar consumed in fruit juice. If you eat an apple, you are getting the same amount of sugar that you would get from juicing the same apple, but your pairing that with tons of fiber, which most certainly offsets the insulin response in your body. You’ll never gain weight eating apples, but you definitely will drinking apple juice, and you’ll miss out on the nutritional value of the apple as well.
If you eat over 2000 calories of apples you will gain weight and fat
Likewise
If you drink juice and soda every day consuming less than 2000 calories you will lose weight
The only thing that contributes to weight loss or gain is the amount of calories you are consuming

@kittster2785 if you eat 500 calories above your deficit of any food you will gain 1 pound of bodyfat in 7 days. It doesn't matter if it's 500 calories of grapes or 500 calories of pizza. You will gain the exact same amount of weight
@kittster2785 a calorie is a unit of energy equivalent to the heat energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 °C. Fiber will not affect that at all you will absorb every single calorie you intake
@kittster2785 I want to be your new husband 🍯 💗
Sorry but humans having been consuming raw milk far longer than we have pasteurisation. Pasteurisation only came about in the 1800s from Louis Pasteur to fix rotting beer.
