This is where I would live in New York
New York City needs to forbid downsizing of residential units. That people can buy the unit next door and can expand BUT people can NOT subdivide.
Capitalizing on the neighbourhood's social/historical/cultural capital built over centuries is trademark capitalism which is alright because its NYC. But please tell us how the development will benefit the neighbourhood and its current residents (who built the reputation that your development is extolling) in addition to the exclusive perks for incoming residents. On the positive side, now the 70+ art galleries and artisan coffee joints will do brisk business while my local laundromat down the street (which I rely on) goes out of business. Luxury at its best!
Nishan Singh Mann dude she literally said their not taring down the gritty side of New York just luxury moving around it
We know what will happen - people who have lived in the LES for years will be priced out. I want to move to NYC when I retire but I really don't see a way to afford it. Hopefully, Hudson County or maybe somewhere way out in Brooklyn or Queens or maybe Inwood. My grandmother worked in a sweatshop in the LES when she first emigrated to the U.S.
@@TrainsFerriesFeetI agree, but why should a cheap neighborhood or city or county stay cheap forever? With economic growth/increased demand, the living price with go up over time, right? Is that a natural consequence of markets?
It’s inconvenient for the people who cannot increase their skills/production, because they get priced out. Can they move somewhere else not as developed yet? But look, I agree with you
WOW unreal 😍
Keep it up ⌛️
You used my drone footage WITHOUT permisson! Please credit me!!!
damn
They owe you much more than just credit- if your footage was copyrighted they owe you DAMAGES. $$$
YES 🙌
Stunning. I'm referring to the phraseology used to describe the neighborhood's lack of development as "sleepy." You're in the middle of the projects, man. Of course it's going to be sleepy. For one, developers don't invest in subsidized housing. They erect the buildings, charge the rents, and annually inflate the estimated value in order to collect significant government subsidizes while leaving apartments and renters in shambles. Once the building is up it's a pure cash cow. The interiors become dated and dilapidated. Good luck getting heat in the winter or elevators that work at all times. But thankfully you've come up with a solution by razing the neighborhood's only large scale affordable supermarket, driving other affordable shopping options to the outer boroughs, as gentrification strokes itself by building on top of poverty in the most asinine of places. Take Lady Liberty's poor, tired, and hungry and replace them with hubristic power brokers and foreign investors. No worries. They'll direct hefty sums into a charity of their choosing in order to pay it forward. Just a shame that all those stuck in their apartments, who at least once had the benefit of some sort view and natural light, will be replaced with an illusive 2-dimensional shadow of their own pittance from those floor to ceiling windows. It's like a 7.5ft 300lb NBA player taking over an elementary school game and charging parents $50,000 a ticket to see their kid with disabilities get demolished by a professional. Well done.
Hmm you’re right, about that. But you said investors don’t invest in subsidized housing (artificially low price housing). But then you said once it’s built, it’s a cash cow. But if that’s true, investors would invest, right? So how does that work
They demolished our local supermarket and pharmacy for luxury which i dont see how it benefits my neighborhood... just benefits the upper class. LES isn't an upper class neighborhood but they're going to make sure it becomes one. Wonder what else is next to go... smh...
Fantastic
this building is surrounded by public housing can't be out past 8 and you have to go through the projects to get to the building. not safe
😱oh my god, thanks
Please build something in Vegas.
How far to Second Avenue subway?
The part that's built or the part that will open in 2050?
If I had the money I would in a heart beat but unfortunately like 99.9% of us dreamers I cant
