Having the tele and playing the blues stuff sold me. This is thebest IR on the market for thr purist and elinates alot of gear and heavy lifting. Nicely done
Absolutely 100% agree 👍
Hats off to you gentlemen. This imho is the best demo of this pedal anywhere online. 🎸👍
Mine will be here in two days!!! It's sounds fantastic, and will go directly onto my board! The singing sustain on channel 2 is ridiculous. Great video, thank you
I have and love this pedal! But that blue Strat 😍😍🤩
Sounds incredible. I don’t take my valve amps out these days they live in the studio. I’m lazy. Just want to take a board. Have a quad cortex board. But this can go on my analog board
7 string clip coulda done with less bass, especially if the preamp is boosted, but Im very impressed with these so far.
I just order mine you lads 😎
Same! Gonna be using it live plugged directly into foh 🤘
That sparkle fender sounds absolutely ridiculously insane. What fender is that? The pedal is remarkable!

Amazing
It's basically a BE-Zero amp.
Do you think his other amps will get the same preamp treatment ?
I'm thinking Dirty Shirley for more sponginess and roundness to the bitier Page ranges ? Rather than full on 'pokey' distortions. Thanks
I loved the playing too.
Ask him if he'll mod it for you. 5751 tubes should get you half way there.
Great Tone yesterday bought it myself. But,got a question have an old plexi with no effectsloop can i play it trough the marshall plexi.
Try it... do you like it? At simple.
If you use it through the FX loop of an amp, can you use 4 cable method to alternate between the front end of the amp and the Friedman IR-X?
I don't think so, there is no routing options like Helix or Quad Cortex, I think you can't use it that way
yes, you could but you would need a loop switcher to make it all work.
@@charlesycoker ah yes, another routing device like a looper would be needed, you are right
can you still use this as normal OD/Dirt pedal and plug it infront of any amp or with other dirt pedals?
Absolutely!
You can but you need to keep the amp tone clean.
So how does it sound in the room? UA-cam demos are rarely reliable. How does it feel? I want to direct record with it instead of having to mic my Twin Sister. Will this be acceptable? Thank you.
So do they run stereo reverb after ?
is that jack there?
Hi There. The interview sections of this video were filmed back in January 2023 during our California content tour. We wanted to include these interview clips as they offer some great insight into Dave's build process
Hopefully this clears up any confusion!
I think that this product is so well done that other amp Mfg's will be soon to follow suit. Tell me this thing doesn't sound like a full blown tube Friedman. Tasty playing as Always guys.
Looks like you’re right. Soldano is releasing one soon.
@2:15 cut the bass! LOL
How much does it cost?.
£499 from Peach.
@@David-ry9ly Thanks 👍. John
or $499 USD from Sweetwater
Anyone play one straight to a Headrush monitor?/
This thing is pretty sick but i love my Friedman amp models in my axe FX. $1k for a FM3 gets you pretty far compared to amp modeler/IR pedals.
I’m being a typical annoying fractal user this pedal fr is awesome and if i already a nice pedalboard setup of delays and reverbs this would be perfect to finish off the board without heavy lifting.
I do have an AXE III but I clearly prefer the IR-X, I also have a BE 100 DLX and as much as I like the AXE FX III the IR-X just sounds (to my ears) and feels better.
kemper slayer
I need one.. lets order
Waste $500 dollars on it.
I really don't see this thing as useful and more of a novelty. For $300-500, one could get a full-featured modeler, like Atomic Amplifier with SHARC DSP, 12 footsw., and more than 1 trick pony! imo
It’s not a one trick pony. And there’s something to be said for delivering just a few killer sounds rather than 500 average ones.
It's about all the choices, still, as you said.
But I think it's good to have choices, especially from the amp makers themselves.
I love my Helix, with its Placater etc.
I personally never bond with modellers. I started with an hd500, tried helix, had Iridium, and what I feel right is just a tube amp with a reactive load.
I've tried also just the preamps of my amps with power amp and cab simulation and it's just as good for me.
This gives you a clean channel, a great distorsion channel, and then by changing IRs and adding pedals, you can get pretty much any tone you want out of something like this, super easy.
To each their own.
Modelers still don't quite capture the feel of a tube amp though.
Modeler sounds nothing like this. Totally different topology and world.
Dude, after listening to hundreds of overdrives I've realized they all pretty much sound the same. Just sayin
I agree, but this is not an overdrive, it's a two channel preamp with power amp simulation and IR, mainly for going out direct without and amp.
You can use it also with any power amp and real cab to get a real tube amp in the room.
Not an overdrive
I can't help wondering which famous band you play lead guitar for!
They don’t all sound the same. This isn’t an overdrive it’s an actual amplifier. On UA-cam things do tend to sound the same, but I promise you this is so much more than an overdrive. Comparing this to the BE100 model in my Helix isn’t even fair. I love the Helix, but the difference in dynamic range and warmth is staggering. I run this through the return of my 5150 or my power cab, and this this thing is stunning. You have to hear it in the room.
Which overdrive are you using mate?
