Hi, my name is Michael Nielsen. I'm a composer/producer. I write music for movie trailers, video game soundtracks, commercials, movies and tv shows. I love this thing... of course, I have to get one of the Custom Shop versions to go along with my Friedman Surf Green Vintage S Heavy Relic. My BE-100 OD Pedal works great with my amps for those small gigs with a combo... but this as a studio and Fly Rig to FOH situation... it's a no brainer! Goes without saying... THIS... IS... IT! 😎🤘🎸

That‘s what i‘ve been looking for. Had them all, Fm3,Quad Cortex,Kemper..Excellent devices, but i spent more time tweaking than playing. The Friedman pedal sounds awesome❤

Thanks for this video. Stellar playing! Do I really need this? No, if I'm completely honest. But do I want it? YES. It seems to be what a modern JMP-1 could be. I'm simplifying what I use and this together with a H9 could do all I need.
Some Lynch' inspired playing in this one sounds like...fantastic sounding.

Been coming across your channel a lot when I am searching about these amps lately (the Friedmans and the Tone King amongst others) and I have to say I love your reviews and your playing.
I do have a question though about this Friedman. Say if I did want to run the balanced out to the mains or an audio interface and run the effects send to somewhere else to run through a live cab, does the send have to go into an amp head or combo's effect's return? Can the effects send run from the Friedman IR-X run into an input of a power amp like some of the power amp pedals out there or a seymour duncan powerstage, quilter or similar? I want to downsize my live rig eventually but yet still be able to monitor off a live cab while sending a signal to the board.

This seems like all the tones from Small Box and BE lines with a BB clean (which I absolutely love), but is there a way to get those killer, warm/fat Dirty Shirley tones? I’d have to try and decide between this and the Synergy gear, but this looks like a killer piece of gear. You demo’d the living sh!t out of this…..well done, Michael!

LOVE DT! All of Scott's riffs are deceptively tricky. I always miss something. The way he plays them always has some extra harmony note in them that makes it extra cool.
People don’t realize this pedal board preamp is great even channel 1 clean to crunch with just your guitar volume. It’s better than my JJ jr head!!!!
So now what do I go with? This just made it more difficult. Friedman IR-X (con not a 100w nano amp/may or not need a power amp $$ if I ever want to mic a cab) or Blue Guitar Amp 1 Iridium (no IR cab/XLR to FOH & IEM system so need to buy that) or Blackstar Dept 10 Amped 3 (heard IRs are not that good)???? My main lead guitar player plays the real miced-out Bogner amp so I don't feel the need to carry amps since I only play a few songs and I am the lead singer.
Live/small clubs:
Guitar -> pedal board /amp pedal solution -> Splitter to IEM system & FOH (need)
Guitar -> pedal board /amp pedal solution -> 2x12 cab -> Splitter to IEM system & FOH (nice to have just in case)
Which of the 3 pedals above would you go with?

Can you use it as a preamp with the power amp simulation but without a cab IR? The use case would be running the preamp into a solid state power amp driving a cab.

Soldano 30 vs Tone King Mark III
OH geeez. I'm a Soldano guy, so I'd go SLO30. BUT... if you are a vintage amp dude, that doesn't like FX loops, and like loud amps that kick ass, the MKIII is amazing.
