    "At the end, I'm not going to be at peace with you if you are not at peace with yourself. That's the reality of it. The reality of it is that if you are not at peace with your own system of value, you are not going to be at peace with me. So the peace between us depends on the peace with your own self. The more you are ignorant about your own self, the more I'm going to be a threat for you. That's the reality of it."
    -- Prof. Tariq Ramadan.

    A Wonderful lecture.
    We should urge Mr. Ramadan to call on scholars from Christianity, Jewish, Buddha, Hindu, and Islam. Convene in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and openly discuss the subject of "ethics" & tolerance among nations.

      KSA represent it's own stance. As for Mecca. It has a different status just as Vatican has its own law. As free dialogue, it can be held anywhere. If it was not for the early Muslim, many of the ancient philosophy forgotten in Europe would not have seen the light of days.

    Some people knows a subject by heart and only need bullet points to get it across. Which he did... you can see this every time he puts on his glasses and glances on his note. Secondly... you missed his points entirely. Look at 18:40 and further at 20:26 stressing on the point that he's merely speaking from where he is, a requirement, he feels, that everyone of us must first acknowledge where the source of our morality/ethics comes from... stand by it, only then proceed to see where we can meet.

    Religion teaches human obedience to God and the rules of attitude both towards humans and their environment in interacting. And faith as a result of this regularity should lead to a wise ethic/attitude towards all actions

      Do you really know what TAQIYYA does mean ?!!

    • @rrbbet
      @rrbbet 9 років тому

      Practically, taqiyya is any form of lying, deceit, misleading, half-truths or related practices condoned by Islamic doctrine to further the growth of Islam or to protect the individual from harm. Taqiyya is one of the reasons we are "surprised" by acts of violence or terror from those previously considered to be "moderate" Muslims. See also "sudden Jihad syndrome." Joel Richardson has wrritten a piece worth reading about "Understanding the Dishonesty and Deceit of Islam."

    • @ZJflower
      @ZJflower 6 років тому +3

      So anything that *you* find not conforming to your prejudice way of thinking about Islam should be branded as 'taqiyyah'. Nice!
      Well you'll find 1/5 of the 7 billion population of this planet follow Taqiya, lot of taqiya isnt it? :-)

    is it ironic that you can watch this deep discussion of ethics from a continent away and listen to Tariq claim that the anonymity of the internet has reduced our ability to communicate deeply?

    • @Drigger95

      No its not. One day doesn't make a summer. Your one example doesn't suddenly make the internet a exemplar of how human communication has become deeper.

    A little bit of Quran ethics 🤣
    How the Quran treatment with non - Muslims?
    Therefor his(Jewish) likeness is as the likeness of a dog: if thou attackest him he panteth with his tongue out, and if thou leavest him he panteth with his tongue out. Al-Araf 7vs176
    The likeness of those who were charged with the Taurat, then they did not observe it, is as the likeness of the ass bearing books, Al-Jumua 62vs5
    We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected." Al-Baqara 2vs65
    Ignoble, besides all that, base-born; Al-Qalam 68vs13
    Truly the Pagans are unclean/the idolaters are nothing but unclean. Al Taubah 9vs28
    this just a little of racism in Quran, there are more and more.

    Merely if barely entertaining at this point now that he’s awaiting trial in a prison in France.... Islamist passing himself off as anything but. Not surprising really considering his family tradition that runs deep. It was his grandfather after all that founded the Muslim Brotherhood, carried on by his father and now is obvious is this Islamists driving force.

      @alp : total nonsense. Ramadan won nothing at all : and there are seven cases running against him

    • @gruzfruz8200
      @gruzfruz8200 4 роки тому

      @Chimbli Billy Nonsense. In France, judges decide on legal proceedings, not the police. No charges have been dropped and the cases agianst Ramadan (in both France and Switzerland) are up and running: we have to wait for their outcome.
      In any case, as I said, it's not even just about rape: Ramadan was finally forced to admit leading a double life for years : preaching morality at day and indulging in a lascivious, adulterous lifestyle at night. His moral credibilty stands at level zero.

    • @gruzfruz8200
      @gruzfruz8200 4 роки тому

      @Chimbli Billy As far as I know, the main Swiss procedure is not dropped. On 20 November last, Ramadan was interrogated by Swiss Justice in Geneva and confronted with one of his accusers www.lemanbleu.ch/fr/News/Tariq-Ramadan-confronte-a-Geneve-a-son-accusatrice-suisse.html . The accusations refer to 2008, and the accuser is not one of his former students. Four other procedures are continuing in France: Ramadan is not off the hook by any means, neither in France nor in Switzerland.

    Notice does not mention gender and sexual ethics, and asserting and trying to change does not include abused women coming forward ... Such hypocrisy, and he started an Islamic Institute for Ethical Training in France in 2017, hoping no doubt it would shield him. He did not abide by the law in France, or so it seems.
