If you are serious about training and your sport, whatever it is, and you know you'll be doing it for as long as you are able then a garage gym is probably one of the best investments you could possibly make.
WRONG. If any one is the least bit "serious" they would be training at a gym. With a coach. Maybe a team. If PL or OLY WL. Or for bodybuilding. A home/garage gym is a luxury. Or a cost saving measure if you can't afford a gym membership. This is a sub-culture. Guys putting gyms in garages. Hence the UA-cam videos to make themselves feel better for spending the money they did. To make it worth it. By definition (garage gym)..means they couldn't afford this..living in a home where they couldn't and didn't have the room inside.
Cool, I remember when I worked on the rigs in the remote areas far away from anything one of the other guys that worked there had a gym set up in a trailer.
Nice home gym, mine is in my basement and I keep expanding what I have in it. When we moved to our new digs we added a full rack, a heavy bag, and just recently a rower. I have more I want to add just have to get it.
Great video. Speaking from experience, there is nothing like creating your own garage gym. I think you've inspired me to make my a video of my own. Well done.
I'm working on a project to create an AirBnB style marketplace for "fitness space," so trainers and fitness enthusiasts can rent out boutique gyms/studios, home gyms, and tennis courts. It will streamline the drop-in fee paid at the gym and allow trainers to find space for their clients. Would love to hear your thoughts
Awesome home gym. Matt, can you talk about breathing in regards to compounds and strength? For example, holding you're breath and getting as many reps while just letting some air out each rep vs. inhale/exhale each rep?
Hey Matt would you say that knee sleeves are a fairly important piece of equipment for someone who is a sub 400 squatter, fairly new to lifting but keen on squatting about 3 times a week, just curious if I'm doing harm to my knees without them
Hey Matt, I'm new to the channel but love the content so far. Listen question, how much do you weigh? I'm 6'2 320lbs and I'm in the market for a new mountain bike, but being my size I'm wary of certain bikes, I have a Gary fisher now but ready for an upgrade. I don't do jumps or anything just some trails. I had considered the specialized epic. But can't find any big guys riding it.
Awesome home gym! Can't wait to have my own homegym one day. I see you have a elevation mask lying around. Do you ever use it and what is your opinion on them? A friend of mine, who is in the army, recently bought the 2.0 version. I've read that they are pretty much a waist of money. As an athlete you want to provide your muscles with enough oxygen, restricting oxygen flow makes no sense to me.
Hey Matt, Im interested in starting one of these, how much should i expect to spend? a broad range would suffice. If you dont mind talking numbers of course.
Friend, Two things-#1} I would definately want a Leg Curl Machine. Yeah you can work the Hamstrings with Squats, Deadlifts and Hyper-Extensions but I like to Isolate them sometimes. #2} A Luxury that I probably couldn't afford unless I got a Hell of a Deal on A Second Hand one-But I'd really LOVE to have a Nautilus Pullover Machine-not so much to work lats as much as to work the intercostals, Serratus Anterior and stretch the old Rib Cage. Outside of those two minor observations… …..RVM45
Hey Matt just started building my garage gym (trying to mimic your set up) I noticed my floor has a slight slope to it...did you have this same issue and if so what did you do to fix it or did you just go with it
Home gym is for serious workout people. Fake workout people go to the health clubs so the can socialize and try to do things like find a wife and stuff like that.
I feel bad you got shitty bars. Throw them away. They're junky. If money is an issue, a great cheap bar is Cap's OB-PB bar "The Boss". It's the best cheap bar Cap makes. It's taiwan, but it'll get the job done!

@@AGC828 many professional athletes have garage gyms, humble your uneducated self
Simply awesome. Finally, a serious lifter whose also a cyclist. Speaks to my heart, man.

really nice setup matt
Good set up bro. But Leo Pando has a pretty good gym set-up as well. It's head to head to this.
Great video. Speaking from experience, there is nothing like creating your own garage gym. I think you've inspired me to make my a video of my own. Well done.
Beautiful gym and properly used by the looks of the owner, good job!
Sweet setup. That would be a dream come true for me. Someday.
This is night and day from the last gym tour video you did. Your gym is awesome. Is that a beer fridge out in the garage?
The thing that I like most about the home gym is the one time fee.
I started to get worried that you wouldn't mention the beer fridge. Post-workout carbs - especially on weekends - are crucial. Sweet set up.
Lyoto machidas home gym is nice too
***** oh yes , I envy you both
Awesome set up. Would you let other people train in your gym and rent it out?

Had to subscribe after I heard Manchester Orchestra in the intro. Good shit man!

That's a legit home gym
Fuck man, your gym is awesome. I can't help but be envious of it. Especially the beer fridge!
What's your selection in the beer fridge?
10:03 great diy idea
Manchester orchestra was my favourite addition to your gym. 😂
Looked up sorinex glute ham roller and it wasnt showing up on the website, hm is it?
terrible location for bars to block the breaker panel, I would seriously consider relocating then.
Love the set up.
Liked for medball hustlin in the streetz
Manchester Orchestra playing??
+Matthew Vincent been on a kick all week. Paused Cope to watch the video and thought I forgot to pause it.
Alright bud? Do you sell the HVIII clothing for the UK?

Sponsored by Violent Gentlemen or just endorse the brand? They have some awesome stuff, will you ever try to do a collaboration with them?

Damn, that title did not disappoint. The only thing I would change are a few of the bars. Amazing set up. It'll be a bitch if you move.
I bet you hate when you trip a breaker and have to move all the bars out the way.
No dumbbell Mat?
but where are the cross bikes?
Home brewer?
And hiding in the other corner~~~~a CO2 tank! What is that used for? Home brew or reef aquarium?
Nice gym. I can only dream.
You can get the best workout at home with no one in your way and nobody running there mouth. I'm all for that.
Nice set up if you're a power lifter, not a good set up for bodybuilding.
+Johnny_fit yeah who would want to do that.
