The 1st time I ever went to a big mountain resort I rode my trusty 2012 Trek 6000 (3rd-best aluminium hardtail on Trek's lineup) with 26" wheels, it even had the speedometer and clipless pedals! It was a pain to load the bike to the chairlift (the wheelbase is so short that you have to lift the whole bike) but I had a lot of fun and people sometimes cheered me on, specially on the red trails (in my place it goes like Green-Blue-Red-Black, the 2 blacks have been World Cup courses over the past 15 years) and the resort's personnel. Some chairlift girl was like "I've seen people here with a hardtail but they only went up like twice all day, you keep coming back", that was so cool. 3 visits later I ended up buying a cheap enduro bike (€1800) but I gotta admit it's almost more fun to use the hardtail as you have to ride it so much better, you don't need rocks and roots everywhere or big jumps to have the full rush. I've never ridden down a black trail (I have a job, LoL) and I'd recommend to everyone to try to enjoy a day at a big resort using a hardtail.
I admired his shit too, I'm that guy that goes to the track and all I have is a shit bike and a lotta love for speed and thrills. It's not like we think " I got this", and go for it. It's that we're having so much fun, we don't see the jump and just send it, landing is a case of life preservation and on the fly adjustments.
@@willgreenfield gonna hit u back with the slow reply, just watched the video again haha made me kinda sad tho, since I wasn't able to ride my bike for the past 3 years :(
The funny thing is it looked like the guy on the hard-tail crashed the least, especially on the first run. These guys are impressive. It is a completely different sport than when I MTB.
Excellent vid guys. Great to see a bunch of people just having some fun and nobody getting (too) hurt! No flashy gear, no crappy music. Stay safe guys.
Wow - Im impressed. I'm new to mountain biking and watching this is literally scaring the hell out of me - I'm not sure I want to go downhill that fast.
Thanks a lot for this awesome Video. I Love it! The dude on the hardtail is one hell of a Rider , he is by far the coolest Rider. And he Shows that Riding is not about the gear. It is about the Rider. And i can learn so much from the Slowmotions. Thanks will!
I love people that aren't wanky wanky about their bike. They just send it does matter if it's an hardtail a full suspension just ride perfectly and don't find any excuse about their gear! That video is just the definition of that .

Impressive riding by everyone in the video - you guys are awesome! Scott
I clicked on this thinking it would be an educational video on how well suited to modern trails hardtails are. I didn't get that but did get something far better! Great riding skills guys. At 43 years old with a previously broken collarbone (from road riding) my confidence will now never let me progress to your levels of skill, but it was very inspiring nevertheless.
@@jeepmanxj i said you need both, know how to ride AND be fit. Just one of these cant help you ride a hardtail in a difficult trail. With a hardtail your knees are your suspentions....if you are fat and unfit, even if you have balls of brass, you cant ride a demanding line...
@@fabiantimmins2224 I've been mountain biking for many decades now. You just need balls. You can act all elitist and high and mighty but i know guys who get winded standing up that will stomp your ass on the way down a hill
Great video, had a smile the whole time. I've been riding shitty hard tails off and on my whole life and i just bought a used mint condition 2015 specialized enduro elite. Its nice to see that full suspension does actually make a difference. Can't wait to ride this season, hopefully i'll find some sweet trails like the ones you guys are riding. Cheers

Kudos to the hardtail rider 1st of all. And then to all for maintaining and riding the trail. Sending them jumps 🤘🏻 I can only watch in awe as I’m not a jumper. More like a knitted cardigan 🤔
I could see you why it would be scary to ride on that track but you guys have it! (Such good control and skill) You don’t need to worry! I would love to spend a day outside with you guys, I wouldn’t fit in at all but I’d still have a lot of fun!
I’m surprised with the Hardtail he was able to keep traction, it seems like the back of it would skip along too much, but man he did a great job of keeping it tight!

Thank you man, glad you enjoyed the vid! Yeah i'd love to have dry rides every time, but having rocks to crash on doesn't sound quite so appealing haha!
