I somehow transitioned to not wearing gloves anymore. A few years ago I used to put on gloves when I went to town to get breakfast. Nowadays I ride bikepark without gloves. I don’t know how or when it exactly happened, but I feel comfortable and confident without gloves now.
I'm waiting for my meta am! I've been racing enduro races on my full squish xc bike. Finally upgrading to a bike that is fit for the racing I wanna do!
What great choice you picked to ride down that mountain . What a great bike I got mine last year and loving it every since . The meta ht is a beast it can do pretty much every thing you put it through . Great bike and great event !!!
That is an insane fast hardtail time. Way to go man! The first time I rode it was on a Kona Humuhumu as a shop dare. Bahaha. Missing the golden bike family.
Damn, this video proves it's not the bike, but the rider! 👊 Pinkbike, can you guys make more hardtail content, like reviews, such races and trips? As a fellow hardtail rider, it's really inspiring seeing what great riders like Tom can do on a humble hardtail. Cheers! 👊😎
I’ve ridden full sussers and hard tail tbh the hard tail takes more skill to handle on rough trails but it’s also one hell of a blast leave’s me with more of a adrenaline rush 🤪💪🏻💪🏻
It's wholesome content like this that makes me never want to upgrade to a full sus. Although I may have to look into a more competent enduro focused ht in the future. 🤙
i ride my local trails (which are mostly tech) with my 23 kg E hardtail and i get better and better by day. You just learn more with a hardtail. You learn how to ride smooth avoiding little bumps and alot more. And because of that i am able too keep up with full suspension bikes cause i know every bump of the trail and know the perfect line to ride smoothly. Yes it is less comfortable, but you get more experience and more feelings over your bike than on a full suspension.
@@paulm9340 where i live the mountains are steep af and the trails are hidden in the woods cause random people build them themselfs, even getting there is an exersice with an e bike.
This guy is crazy as all get out, never not hooting and hollering. Curious if he did anything with his fork because of the steepness of the trails? To me looked like he was running about 50% into the fork travel most of the time, could have pumped up the fork another 20PSI and added one or two volume spacers to help it sit higher in the travel and keep the HA closer to it's designed static angle.
I just ordered a Banshee Paradox V3 and can’t wait, thought about duel sus but quiet honestly hard tail is just far more fun, if I want a duel sus I’ll just buy a motorbike.
To me, this is one of the best videos PB has ever produced. This track is so iconic and I know there's a younger generation that doesn't fully understand but Tommy, you crushed it with the mention of season and the integral role that played. Well done mate. Also, a quick PSA for those who don't know: Anthill films and red bull are doing a full on documentary about Stevie's life and if you know anything about Anthill it's gonna be epic. Everything they touch is🤘 here's a quick teaser trailer for it..ua-cam.com/video/KPTLhQ4WqNc/v-deo.html Thanks again for this Tommy! And long live Chainsaw.
After 10 days of mtb i started riding red donwhills here in switzerland with my xc hardtail.... At the beginning 20 min, after 2 month 8, jn a year ? We will see, i can just say: do it and everyone will respect ya, you first :)))
107,000ft / 32,000m is MUCH higher than nearly every plane flies. Jet airliners tend to cruise at around 35,000ft, give or take. Very few fighter jets have made it up as high as 100,000ft.
Well I've got the same bike so I've really got no excuses.... What upgrades do you have? Looks like XX1 cassette, AXS mech and dropper and possibly brakes? Binning the Guide T's was the first thing I did but unfortunately replace them with Code RSC's which are utter shite. Should have got Saint or XT.
Hey Rowan haha don't need to do this kind of carry on to have a good ride on the HT! I'm running the GX AXS drivetrain. Then Code RSC's with a 180mm rear and 200m front HS2 rotor. They were unreal 🤘 - Tom
Can anybody tell me re how to set-up a camera to capture such an amazing video during a biking such as this? Thanks a lot, you jolly people! Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking
Great bike , rides smooth ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing .
More hardtail videos please! Keep the great work guys.
Going gloveless more impressive than going hardtail imo. Great video!
I hate wearing gloves but I'm forcing myself to use them for the sake of my hands right now.

@@Fred_the_1996 I know its not a comfort thing. I've been riding bikes for 35 years and I never have. It's not a bad feeling just a different feel.
Good grips sometimes are enough. And the feel is so much more different, I can see why a lot of riders don't wear gloves
I love Toms energy so much! He reminds me of what mtb is all about... having fun!
Cheers Puzox, it's what it's all about! - Tom
Mad respect Tom, well done. More proof of how much fun a hardtail can be. You're an animal.
Thanks Hardtail Party, love your work - Tom
@@pinkbike One day we'll have to ride together. Till then.
107,000 ft in 24 hours is actually about 3x the height commercial planes fly, 3x more impressive than you thought!
HA cheers Peter, mind blown - My mental capacity was clearly maxed out at the time converting from feet to metres - Tom
I would love to see Tom, Elliott Jackson, and Blake Sampson all do a video together.
And all on hardtails!
Ohhh yeah ! Blake is one of my biggest motivation
With Matt Jones too! It would be such a PARTY!
Last Weekend I saw a guy ripping the DH-Track on a Dirt jump Hardtail. Hell, that dude was mental.
we need more stuff like this! keep the fun in the sport! The arm pump must have been insane
This is absolute MADNESS! WOW!
This makes me even more excited and proud that i "just" have a Enduro Hardtail and not a fancy "full squish"
Tom’s video meta HT inspired me to build one up! Tom you are making some awesome videos! Keep up the awesome work.

can't wait to get my Meta HT. I'm guessing I won't be able to go that hard but I'm gonna try my best. November can't get here soon enough!!!

Same with my clash ride. Preordered it for November.
Enjoy the new bike dude, you will amaze yourself how capable modern aggressive HT's are

Epic effort! Well done mate! I know I could never do that, but it's nice knowing that my META HT could.
I ride my trusty meta ht down on everything, this bike could survive a nuklear blast!
Love your work on keeping Hardtails stylish!
❤️ so good, got myself down the fort William world cup track on the Orange P7 for the first time the other week, bike crushed it, I hung on!
Madness! You're basically saying "I only need the front wheel to control my traction" Nice fishtailing technique for checking speed!

This video was the reason to ride with the same hardtail in the brandnertal valley. More of this pls
That is impressive. The course and the riding.
Insane riding, well done Tom!
Does anyone else feel that hardtails are back again and in a very strong way too? Reminds me of the hardtails back in the earlier 2000’s
