Thank you so much! I started making two of these for Christmas and when I got to the part where you stitch the other side of the zipper I was afraid of doing it wrong. Being able to come in here and watch you do it was a LOT of help. And I love being able to turn it through the pocket so that was an added bonus!
I recently made a longer version (2.5 yds) with two pockets (one on each end). When I double loop the longer scarf I can pin it in the middle with a brooch & there is enough length for me to pull it down over my shoulders & wear it as a shrug. Love it! Thank you again!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've made a couple of these scarves, & I love them! I wear them at work because I'm always cold in the office, & I usually don't have a place to carry my phone or a pen or my ID or keys while I'm at work. Your tutorial is unique because you show how to sew a LINING for the pocket. Other tutorials just throw a zipper on an infinity scarf and your stuff just rolls around the full length of the scarf which is not attractive or convenient. I will be making these as gifts this year. I know my friends & family will love them! Thank you again.
I just fell in love with some material that I knew was perfect for an infinity scarf. Never though of a pocket! Thank you for the heads-up on leaving the portion of the pocket open to turn inside out. Great spot... I hate hand sewing!
I made a few of these years ago for gifts and my way was SO much more complicated lol. I believe I sewed the whole pocket on first in pouch form and got it on the scarf somehow without sewing it all shut! And then turned it inside out lol. I just found some fabric and decided to make a few more. Glad I saw your video as a refresher and better way of doing it! Love the pulling it thru the pocket version. Cheers
I. Am. Stoked! I just made it, with this video's help of course. I can fit my phone comfortably in the pocket and it's comfortable. I used flannel. Ir's isn't bulky at all. Thank you for the video❤! Now to make another while I'm on this high
Thanks so much for the great tutorial. I'm not the greatest at sewing, yet I made 2 of these in 2 hours. Our little hedgehog should be comfy it the minky fabric pocket.
Adding a small 1/2 by 4" overall + S.A. fabric loop to one edge so can slip on to a hook or over the business end of a hanger. Making a prototype in flannel... with that loop. Thanks!
or if you ever forget your loop sewn in the a seam, just put a ribbon through zipper pull (zp) with a knot at the end to make a loop and it will function same way as fabric loop.
I'm making a few of these for winter travel to Europe. I think pick pocketing from a scarf pocket will be unlikely (and I can hardly find the pocket it's so well hidden) and it will keep me warm and stylish.
Thank you! Awesome project and video! I can’t wait to make a few of these! I know my daughter will want one and I’m sure some of her friends, cause everybody needs a place to put their cell phones!
I like to finish all edges before sewing; this prevents bumps forming (fabric tends to unravel then knotting up when washed) inside scarf after washing. i do like silky soft fabrics that tend to fray easily.
Katy, thank you! How would these instructions differ if using an invisible zipper? I’ve never sewn one before, but love the look of them. Thanks so much! ❤️
Is the pocket width the length of the zipper tape or the length from the zipper pull to the zipper stop please? In the video the zipper/pocket placement at 2.45 is different from the laying out part a few seconds earlier.
Zipper pull to zipper stop. I was wrapping my arms around from behind a tripod so I could film the process and couldn't see what I was doing....so I adjusted when I stitched it.
I know that it’s been quite a while since you posted this video but I did want to ask if it’s possible to use plain cotton fabric for the scarf? Would it still be relatively warm?
Hi Pixie, a lot of people have used quilting cotton for their scarves. It obviously won't hold the same warmth as a fleece would, but it would still provide some coverage for your neck during the cooler months. :)
I just got that sewing machine for Xmas. How has it worked for you? I'm so excited to try the scarf now, I was intimidated before watching this. Great video, thanks!

What Jaime said, seems complicated but thanks so much for breaking it down to EASY! Love the turn inside pocket idea
Thank you so much! This is the best tutorial to make an infinity scar with a pocket!
Thank you. This is the best video I have seen for an infinity scarf with hidden zippered pocket.

Great demonstration without showing all the sewing as well. Nice job!! Thank you 😊
Thank you, an easy to follow tutorial. I made a two toned scarf with minky one side and Buffalo check the other for an extra warm scarf.
Is it possible for you to show the actual sewing of the zipper part? It's still a bit confusing for beginners. Thank you.
Like magic !!! So stinking cute. Even love your blouse. Totally subscribed 💕
Hello Katy. Thank you for this tutorial. I have been wanting to make a scarf like the one you made. thank you for making it look so easy.
Thank you thank you! ❤️ And, you are super adorable even more so than just your pictures, Katy! ❤️
Love the pocket turn version. Like birthing a bag, in bag making. Gives a beautiful finish.
Thank you for the video. I was reading the written instructions and it just wasn't sinking in. :)
Wow! I was waaaaay overthinking this, lol! Thank you for the tutorial, off to work on the 2 I have prepped now.

Thank you so much!! I got hung up on doing the second side of the pocket and this really helped!
Hello!!! Thanks from Argentine. Very nice explanation!!
Thank you! Awesome project and video! I can’t wait to make a few of these! I know my daughter will want one and I’m sure some of her friends, cause everybody needs a place to put their cell phones!
That was a great tutorial. I was able to make the whole scarf without massing up. Thank you.
Great tutorial. Clear and concise, easy to follow. Off to make one! Thanks.
Made this scarf. Came out great. Thx!
Thank you for explaining and going through all the steps to make the scarf
Thank you so much for doing this video. It was tremendously helpful!
Thank you for this video. I'm even more excited to make some scarves now!
Thank you! I love the quilt in the background
Thank you! My husband made it for me last Christmas, from all of the old clothes I"d made for our son that he outgrew. Seriously sweetest gift ever.
I made it and love it! Thank you for the tutorial!
Thank you very much for this video. You're so sweet, Katy! I'm about to tackle my first couple of scarves for Christmas presents.
Great tutorial!

I think this was well explained. Thank you very much.
What was the fabric measurements? Did you say 22” x 72” ? You made this look SEW easy to make. Thank you.
That's what I was going to ask, just seeing this video now, but another video gives the measurements you mention
Chrissy Oldfield what width does she recommend? She said I only had 22in so she made that do.
Thanks for the video 😊 Can't wait to try it.

Fab! Well explained and easy to follow. Thank you very much.
This was a super tutorial. Thank you sew much. Incredibly clear
Excellent instructions. Thank you.
How can I better secure the zipper with a jersey fabric? Love the tutorial. thank you
Thank you very much for this tutorial. it's very easy
Thank you. I am not good with zippers and was stuck trying to figure this out.
ALSO, what top are you wearing?? I LOVE the sleeves!

hat size zipper is that? looks like a 6 inch since you used 5 inch squares. Looks great and you are great
This whole pattern and tutorial is free on their site

Muchas gracias!!! 🙋🏼♀️
Lo voy a intentar
I love this, thank you so much!

I'm trying to convince myself this will be warm enough for winter, or is this really just a fashion piece?
depends on the material you use! I've been wearing mine for fashion and function
I've got winter, spring, & summer versions. It all depends on the fabric you use.
If you use 2 cuts of WOF you only need 1 yard. It would make scarf 18 inchs wide and 80 to 84 long.... Plenty of fabric.
:)
