You can sack Freddy Laurie Madge and bring in the next coach, we don’t quite get the QUEENSLANDER mentality and until we do we will keep throwing coaches at the team. Maybe look outside the box and instead of physicality driven strategies we need a mental one up .
You can see where block & Benny's loyalty lies, gold & black forever, but there wrong. Watson is a perfect 14, something NSW hasn't had since wingy, appy is a hooker that's it, with Watson at 14 you can now carry 3 forwards on the bench. It's a good/ smart move
Api can also play in the halves. One thing I have noticed with Maguire's selections is that he has been very reluctant to pick anyone from his old coached at clubs Souths and the Tigers. If Sua'ali'i hadn't been sent and suspended (and the first game had gone differently), I have to wonder even in the form he's in if Mitchell would have been picked?? There is no one else in the backline who needs replacing now that Edwards is back, and Latrell would be wasted on the bench so where would he have even fitted in?? While IMO Murray should have been there from the start in front of McInnes and yet its only now that NSW are in a must win situation where Madge has picked him.
@Holden308 But he can't cover any of the outside backs where Watson can. You have to remember who was fit and playing, and in form when the 1st side was picked, and both Murray and Mitchell were not, for either of those reasons, Hynes was the last half still hobbling around. Both the Bunnies and the W/Tigers form was shit as well. I would have had Yeo starting and Mcgines on the bench and Burton there instead of Young, IMO.
