The Longbranch Saloon, one of the most notorious bars ever. As kids in the 70's we saw fights roll out of this bar right onto Front St. Stabbings, shootings, Hells Angels, real cowboys, Rainbow kkk, real Indians from the rez, border patrol, only one sheriff. Directly across the street was the bar The Stables. At 2am every Fri and Sat night between those two bars blood would spill down the middle of Front Street. Us little kids loved hiding out at the top of the street watching these brawls. Some of our dads and uncles would be down in there. Sometimes the law never even showed up. There were lot of bullet holes inside the LB and knife carvings on everything wooden. Sometimes the doors would be all busted up so in the mornings we'd dare each other to run through the empty bar. It closed in the early 80's and a church took over the building for a little bit. Not long after that was the begining of Temecula being ruined. So my family moved away. Came back once in 2004 and walked Front St up and back. Went home and wrote the song "Where'd my town Go" Temecula Ca. At least the LB building is still there, it's a bar and yer not in one of those sorry ass fake building's they got all up and down Front St now. My dad owned the blacksmith building that used to be across from the Palomar. What a time to be alive. Hey, good luck!
