- With now 50 wineries, Temecula's vines and wine bring many visitors to the area every year-but it's the small-town charm that keeps them. Joy Benedict reports.
Murrieta Joining the chat....what we (those of us in our little valley) like is that we can see our mountains on all sides. There aren't a bunch of skyscrapers blocking our beautiful views. We are about an hour from anything (beaches, mountains, snow skiing, night life). I first came for a job in 1985 when it was still called Rancho California and mostly ranches. Came back in 2002 with my large family because the housing was so affordable, great schools, family oriented, and lots of open space. It's starting to get crowded now so unfortunately we've closed the entire Temecula/Murrieta valley to newcomers. So sorry everyone, you missed your opportunity.
I’ve been living here in Temecula since 2014 and love it! ❤
I live here in Temecula, it really is a great city.
Moved here in 2003, best decision!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE living in Temecula
Been here since 2010. Way cleaner and safer than l.a.. Grass green af over here. So many beautiful parks and wineries. 5 minutes away from 215. Other cities can't touch Temecula
Used to live there, great town, great weather.
It is lovely. I did a bicycle through the Vineyards tour. First time there. Just beautiful.
The vineyards are miles from the city!
I'm glad that I live here, too, in Temecula 👍🏽
And Really expensive too!
You gotta pay the cost to be the boss
SAN Diego and LA area are more expensive than Temecula
Daughter lives there loves it
It's all relative folks. Temecula is a very nice community. Growth will happen in any nice community and will experience the changes that go along with that including increased traffic, homelessness, and a more diverse population. Prices have gone up, however, generally speaking , homes are priced at about fifty percent of what orange and LA county homes are priced at. Temecula is also still about forty per cent lower than prices in san diego county. The schools are good here, however, we are getting an influx of
the left thinking side of what schools should be and that has been met with resistance. I own property in temecula and also in the surrounding communities of murrieta, winchester and menifee. Temecula is the most popular and preferred address in this area. The reason Temecula probably made the fifty best places is because of its location in southern california, the weather, Temecula wine country that has grown quite a bit in the past twenty years, and the general quality of the city. I see an influx of individuals that are hell bent on changing the conservative nature of the community, and at least trying to make it lean more to the left. I have lived in socal my entire life and prefer temecula over other locations such as san diego, Escondido, and the desert communities. With that said however, I am looking at moving to a more rural conservative state than california in the foreseeable future.
I feel like Temecula is where we make our final stand for California. We lose it and it's over. They'll be no more safe havens for .........
You own property in 4 cities in Southern California and like Temecula better than other cities, but you’re planning to move soon, why?🤔
the irony of saying that the left is trying to change schools when it’s the extreme rightwing people on the schoolboard who landed tvusd a massive fine and is completely changing the curriculum? 😭
All the dark shaded bums moving in. Section 8 housing being pushed on us
What do you think Lisa has to say about that?
The reason people love it here ie because we don’t have any of the LA/SF 🐂💩. 💪🏽💪🏽
Sadly...that is changing. We have a few libs/RINOS now running the city council and a liberal city clerk.
@@stacy695 we shouldn’t give up so easy
Not much high paid jobs, people need to commute long distance to San Diego or Orange county for works.
so true
Yes i love living here in Temecula
Love this city moving back in the winter beautiful
Hi Tiffany! I'm a Temecula based real estate professional in case you need assistance finding housing when moving back here. Either way, glad to have you in Temecula! 😁
I love Temecula.
True!
If you like a city that grew WAY to fast resulting in horrible traffic due to lagging infrastructure this is it!
Throw in 100+ degree days in the summer, maybe 2-3 months worth and chain store after chain restaurants and that's Temecula!
yes, it’s very cookie-cutter.
@@sarahbaartmansrevenge 👍
I agree with you, traffic is insane except for hours 10am-1pm, and it is stifling hot in summer... but other than those glaring negatives, it is a lovely town; safe, top-tier schools, nice old town, and mild weather 8-9 months of the year.
Don't forget that electric bill n the summer
@@GT-xf2tf Point!👍
A little slice of heaven !!
I guess SNL’s ‘Lisa from Temecula’ is clapping back about now…
They also fail to mention how EXPENSIVE it has gotten there.
HOUSING? forget it! It’s gotten so expensive with the popularity of wineries …. 8 years ago, you could buy a ranch style home for about $300k, now they’re over 1 million!
It’s got very crowded and congested these days that the infrastructure is having a hard time keeping up .
I go there frequently throughout the year
Have you been in San Diego or LA that is expensive… 🙄
Ranch style home for 300k in 2016??? You mean 1998. Hater
Expensive living
TEMECULA/MURRIETA/FRENCH VALLEY/Menifee are great CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN FAMILY AREAS, let’s keep it this way 🇺🇸
Exactly. We lose Temecula and all of California is lost. Make your final stand 💪. Hold fast !!
@@ChuchoPierremaking the stand here 💪🏽💪🏽
I liked it so much more in the 70's before it was discovered and invaded. You didn't have to pay to enjoy Lake Skinner. Parents in law going to brunch saw a little trailer with real estate flags and office set up and bought a home from the agent on site cash. Jack Klugman (actor) bought a property too. It was peaceful and quiet and views were unobstructed 😢
It's getting crowded, and the traffic is going higher each day 😑
All so cal nice cities are "expensive", so Temecula also, of course.....
If you do not commute far, still good to live there, better than many places.
Who makes the Decisions to name it the Best Place to live in America?
Both my Houses were named #1 city in America a Decade ago
They failed to mention that it's insanely hot in the summer, and under drought conditions they have the strictest restrictions in the state, for example, you can't wash your own car. Gotta water them grapes!
Use grapes, to wash cars…😅
I lived there for 20 years, days can be hot but at night the temps can drop by 20 degrees. This is why wine grapes grow well there.
Where did you get your information? I wash my car every other week, and I have my automatic sprinkle system set for 12mins everyday.
I drank wine in place of water to conserve. Now my liver is the size of a basketball!
@@kendallevans4079Lol
no manches
Nah, I disagree. It's in a totally inconvenient location, out of place, there are a couple of casinos way too close, the freeway is always jammed as are the access roads to it, might be a good place for a vacation, but other than that, meh, there's not much to do or see around it for miles and you always HAVE to drive everywhere for everything, as nothing is close, no trains, no buses, how would you get around the area without a car.
If you live anywhere west, like south O.C. like I do, and you don't want to risk your life on "blood alley" aka: Ortega Highway then you either have to go 91 down the super ugly I-15, or drive down to 76 and up super ugly I-15. Either way, it's a pain to get out there!
@@kendallevans4079 Exactly
@@ScrewyDriverTheMan 👌
Super ugly I 15? From 76 north is actually quite beautiful especially when it's green. The traffic from Escondido to Temecula or from 79 north to 215 is horrendous any day of the week. That's the ugly part.
When the Rancho California exit off the freeway was done, it was already a crowded exit
Mostly I remember older, retired people were originally buying. My in-laws were close to the age. She would get a computer bus to L.A. at a park and ride lot to work and back. It was pretty easy then and they retired soon after buying.
Yeah, good luck coming out here on the weekends. Traffic traffic traffic.
There is major traffic there every day of the week anytime during morning or evening rush-hours! That’s the main reason I would never live there!
Traffic blah blah blah....welcome to California. Give Temecula a chance to finish the 215/15 interchange
@@beejdailey9824 nah no more welcome in California please is my point . We're full and don't need anymore people moving here lol 😝
Temecula is still a beautiful and safe city compare to other cities in California. I have been here for 24 years. Yes, I have seen the growth and hopefully the conservative view does not get replaced by progressive leftist way.
I lived there 23 years, It used to be incredible! It was an amazing place for my kids to grow up, but we left once the last one graduated high school. The crime was getting worse. There were homeless people on drugs all over and you didn't even feel safe! Illegals running through peoples backyards and all sorts of crazy stuff. Helicopters circling several times a week looking for bad people. All those people they interviewed in the video are wealthy and wouldn't struggle like the average person. Everything is expensive, homes, taxes, gas, utilities, just life. Don't even get me started going north on the 15 and the 91 west, my gosh the freeways are horrible! It was conservative and we loved it for that too but it was definitely changing in that regard. We left and we are now in the Carolinas and I don't even miss it!
Homeless, drugs, illegals? Where?!! You must be confusing it with Hemet😆 No such thing around here…if there ever is,not at the scale you are trying to paint it. Come on now😂
I live in Poway for 25 years. Sold my house and moved here to Temecula 3 years ago and love it so I don’t know what you talking about .
Sold my house in Temecula in January of last year. Got tired of all rentals pooping up on the street I lived on, and the trouble makers that were moving in.
After watching the entire video, like most positive stories they only show the best parts of the city. But the traffic on the freeway and most nearby streets is always very slow anywhere near morning and evening rush-hour. I think it’s the worst traffic in the inland Empire. And there’s only 3 roads that go over the freeway for 110,000 people. So traffic on most of them is normally very slow during most of the day. So it’s one of the last cities I would live in the Inland Empire.
This video caters to the rich ladies and gentlemen don’t get it twisted.
Ill pass!!!!!!!!!!!!
It works because it’s conservative.. those values never go out of style people respect the flag. We have excellent schools here all sevens and up there’s no graffiti… absolutely beautiful and seems close to everything and you can buy a beautiful home probably starting at 600k
Take note is because most there is a Conservative people.
Love it❤
EXACTLY! Let’s keep Temecula, French Valley and Murrieta CONSERVATIVE
Try getting in or out, That area has some of the worst traffic in california
How??? All the restaurants here suck
lol…I don’t know what food you are looking for but many restaurants here are superb. You must be looking for street foods…yeah,Temecula don’t have it…go to LA or Tijuana border if that’s your kinda thing
it used to be decent in the late 90s early 2000s when a family of 4 or so could buy a decent-sized house at a decent price. NOW it’s tremendously overpriced, overcrowded and quality of life is going downhill. if you have to commute to work it’s out of the way enough from any real commerce that it just isn’t worth it. roads are too crowded now. now it’s just another failed ‘bedroom community’ in southern california
Agree. There is very little work there outside of retail so many people end up commuting to OC or SD or other areas for work. That's why the 91 is a disaster. Actually, besides wineries and Penchanga there isn't any reason to go out of your way to go there
No, it is not: 1989 to 2015.
It used to be. Too crowded and expensive now. Now the state is making them build low income apartments everywhere. It’ll be trash in 10 years
Ya right, the 50 wineries, Old Town, Pechanga will all be abandoned in ten years. $1 billion in tourism 2023.
Diversity is a downside, not a plus. Every academic study shows diversity destroys social trust even between in-groups. Relatively homogeneous communities share common value systems, which makes them stronger. It’s not only common sense, it’s backed by science.
We are a petri dish for social experimentation with this diversity thing. When will they realize people feel comfortable with people like themselves in just about every category. That's just the way it is, you can't force these things.
Diversity is the downfall of the US. Dark shaded section 8 bums getting pushed on us. Bringing us all Down
It's also racist! Sorry
lol your lies are funny. trump 2024
Lmao said who
If your white lol trust me, I am Mexican and every time I go I always get bad looks
What are you talking about? Temecula is where there is a LARGE MEXICAN AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN base. With that said Hispanics 4 TRUMP 2024🇺🇸🇲🇽
Your trippin. Only the homeless get bad looks and the poor. Temecula isn't racist.
lies. as a Italian guy I love my fellow conservative Mexicans in Temecula.
@@HoneyBearLife 💯
Yet Mexicans out there have been racist towards me as a black person. Instead of going after whites they go after black people who haven’t done sh*t to them instead. Insane.
