Have never understood why Broadway hasn't embraced him more...his voice is extraordinary, and his acting is incredible...I wish they could figure out how to have him play Jesus and Judas at the same time bc he's completely brilliant in both roles!
I can't believe that Drew is still not famous.. :) Maybe it's a good thing for his talent . I love this Guy and I'm a huge fan. I wish I could use such as voice technique as he uses. Take care Drew an hope I will see You live once !
@@carostrophal Outside of Austria, he's definitely not as well known as he deserves to be. A LOT of people have played in both the West End and Broadway, and sadly, too many amazing talents (like Drew) seem to fade out of the public awareness.
@@JustAnotherBuckyLover Ah well, yes that's true of course. Just for me, as an austrian, everyone that's been successful internationally is somehow famous for me. I don't really know why, but I think being austrian kind of pushes the feeling of "being small", so I couldn't relate to the actual big musical industry. My fault, didn't think about it in a realistic relation.
@@carostrophal No worries - it happens (albeit to a lesser extent) even in the UK, despite the powers that be making us the US's smaller sidekick. In fact, for most countries, their national stars often don't become internationally famous at the levels they might deserve, especially if English isn't their first language, and it's primarily only the US that tries to force its stars onto everyone else. American exceptionalism, and all that jazz.
As a singer myself, I can tell you that when all the pieces are in place and everything is going right on the night, you can slip into what I call the 'sweet zone.' That's where everything around you drops away and you loose yourself in the song, and a great performance can crystallise into something truly spectacular. He was in that 'sweet zone,' giving that song 120 percent, and needed a few moments to collect himself afterwards. It's such a powerful performance! I love this song, and I've never heard it sound so good before. Spectacular job! ...Okay, I'm rambling , I'll just go back to my bag of mixed nuts in the cheap seats! LOL ;-)
Oh, what an amazing vocal! You sang the world's best Gethsemane that God gave you, and the moment I hear your song, my heart feels like it's going to burst into heaven. It's amazing!
Drew you always give me goose bumps when you sing this! I didn't know you were in Russia to perform. Hope to be with you on a musical stage together again soon!

It’s more his choice from what I’ve heard. Germany has been a great home to him
my love, hes transcendent. theyre not able to "place" him.
HIS VOICE!!! I discovered him thanks to Lestat the musical and i absolutely love him, this man needs to be famous ❤
He knows the song so well that he really put his own spin in his interpretation
he always has. that is why it is so special. ua-cam.com/video/sqIWGh8DaGc/v-deo.html

Well...actually it seems like he is always in that Zone. Everytime I saw him life he completely blew me away.
That's what I wanted to write, too.
the original he did is amazing. ua-cam.com/video/sqIWGh8DaGc/v-deo.html

I have a really big problem with Drew on JSS. He's my favorite Jesus, but he's also my favorite Judas. Is it possible to have both?
Giovanni Chagas Exactly my words haha! I want JCS with Drew as Jesus and Judas!!
Giovanni Chagas Nothing beats the 1973 version, but he’s very good👍
very good idea ;-)
Giovanni Chagas If he did a one man show of JCS i'd watch it haha
possible) I feel the same
Mi corazón al mil viendo y escuchando este enorme artista bravo bravo
Wow, what a great performance👍Du bist ein großartiger Sänger und Darsteller, Drew !

Прекрасный💗
Amazing😍🤩
Incredible!!!
Still my favorite performance
Thanks for sharing!
Handsome 😻😻😻
Thank you so much
one of the biggest tragedies in life is not being able to clone drew and have them each play the roles of jesus and judas together
See, he doesn't do the high G until before the 5/8 section ends. It isn't because he can't, it's because he doesn't want to.
👏👍🤘
Wow!
Great.
3:54 was pretty awesome.
Jesus got some serious daddy issues. This is far and away my favorite interpretation of this song/character.
Wait....wow.😯
👏
I think the same, Giovanni!
omg amazing loved yr performance you n Ted Neeley need to be john legend teacher n show him how to sing this song playing Jesus
Krassss
He's wonderful, but guys, look up Trevor White from Australia and Ian Gillan from the 1970s.
Holy shit
Крут
He HAS TO PLAY PHANTOM
he did 😁
drew is so much better than paul nicholas - respect
Oh no, he didn't go for the G. He does it so well. Sad face.
3:52 hello there
@@bakalaudia5620 yeah, but that's not the G that everybody notices.
