With the soaring house prices in north america + cost of living and more and more people being able to work from home/digital nomads.. I see Mexico being a very very attractive place to move/retire.. add the fact that they wanna build that Mayan Train and another airport near Tulum... the whole Yucatan peninsula is very interesting. I'm seriously keeping my eyes on properties and slowly learning spanish.
@@amazonariver1969 Uhh no. $1400 for a 2-BR home in a gated community with security. 2-levels and has a small pool. 10 minutes from the beach. Try to find that in Florida or California.
THANK YOU for doing such a thorough review of what Cancun has to offer! Wow, it sure has grown since I've visited 18 years ago (yikes!), can't believe its population is up to a whole MILLION now!
I love the idea of moving to, and living in/around Cancun. The big problem that makes me apprehensive is the browning of the shoreline and the wall of stink-weed that washes up on the beaches with every tide, and the fact that there's a huge mountain-mass of this foul-smelling stuff growing out at sea, that reaches half way around the Earth It seems the government only has a Bandaid solution AT THIS TIME. ❤ - Thanks for all your good work.
It is not good & will only get worse as the water warms!! It is on Cozumel too. I pick up trash weekly..to try and help our community & beautiful planet. I also live in AZ and have walking groups that pick up trash too. All the best!! 🌵💕🙏🏻
Hi Peter. This is a valid point. I also am interested in buy property in Cancun, but the stink weed shouldn't, by any means, be a deal breaker, unless you spend your entire days on the beach 😉. I currently live in Canada, and just being able to avoid our very long and HELL-ish winters GREATLY outweighs a slight odorous inconvenience when at the beach.
Gee, you sound like such a fun mfer to be around glad we did not check with you before deciding to move forward with our/A life...cant wait until you get here!
Not really interested in living in Cancun, but you did a fantastic job describing all that it has to offer. And yes, all the locals treat you like royalty. I love Cancun, mostly because of the food and world-class entertainment.
Most people who are tourists, can come back multiple times and get 180 days tourist permit. However, sometimes immigration agents will give you less than 180 days. And sometimes, if they suspect you are illegally living in Mexico, they can deny your entry
This is actually very common. Many foreigners work at the resorts part time. However, working in tennis or golf I don't know how common that is because it's not that common for people to pay for classes.
I have a trust that’s 3354 life time and goes up every five years I’m really debating on moving out of the us and tryna double my spending power as well as getting away from the corporate world: Do you think 3354 is enough for me and my fiancé a month?
It’s most likely enough for you to live comfortably. However, it may not be enough to qualify for a residency visa The requirements go up every year and the requirements for 2024 will most likely increase so that you have to prove you make at least $4000 usd a month. We’ll know what the exact requirements are for 2024 by mid January. If you’d like to be the first to find out, sign up for our newsletter mexicorelocationguide.com/newsletter/
@@MexicoRelocationGuide Thank you SO much. I will get to a Mexican Consulate to prove my income. I cannot wait until my home here in the US sells and then I know your company will be able to help.
I think airlines instead of giving a shopping tour should actually get with realtors and have a tour of property for sale in the region they are in. Also all the information for buying in a foreign country.
That’s why we offer these relocation tours (not with realtors though so you don’t get pressured into buying anything) and we have all the information you’d need on buying a house as a foreigner in Mexico. All this info and our contacts are part of what you get when you buy our Mexico Relocation Guide Mexicorelocationguide.com/guide
With the current currency exchange ove rather last couple months, housing in mexico is what you pay in the usa. Also people need to understand that there is no tax agreement and mexico taxes you on all of your income including foreign sourced. Even social security, disability payments are taxed in mexico. Mexico is not a territorial tax country. You will be double taxed

Can you leave Mexico every once and awhile and comeback as much as you want or can you only spend 180 days in tbe country per year?
Most people who are tourists, can come back multiple times and get 180 days tourist permit. However, sometimes immigration agents will give you less than 180 days. And sometimes, if they suspect you are illegally living in Mexico, they can deny your entry
How hard would it be for an American to "retire" here, but still work in lets say golf or tennis, or perhaps resorts & hotels?
This is actually very common. Many foreigners work at the resorts part time. However, working in tennis or golf I don't know how common that is because it's not that common for people to pay for classes.
They also just built a train :)
nice beaches full of seaweed
The seaweed ebbs and flows. Some days it’s clear and some days it’s bad. And sometimes it’s all in the same week.

That’s simply not true Donovan - sorry
Incorrect!
A simple Google search will reveal this is untrue.
