That shoe looks horrible. I'll pick up a pair of Adios 7s on Amazon instead. Musical interlude, the new Kings of Christmas, the Lumineers. Blue Christmas, Deck the Halls, and my absolute favorite: Christmas (Baby please come home). Stellar stuff from the Lumineers!
What I came to realize is Adidas has 2 very distinct tiers of running shoes that couldn’t be more different from each other, almost like they are 2 different brands designed by different teams. For me the original Supernova and the original Response Super were probably the worst shoes I ever had. Meanwhile Adios Pro 3, Prime X Strung, Boston, Takumi Sen all sit at the very top of my list, above any Nike or Saucony or Hoka or Puma or whatever other brands I have. For me simply the name of “Supernova” is a clear signal it’s not meant for serious running, regardless of what flashy tech the ads promise.
Thanks for the review Edd. Good value comparison with the Puma Velocity Nitro! You could pick that up at a fraction of the price and it does the same job, probably better! Hopefully, the Adios 9 is a better offering from Adidas.
I dig mine - it’s not an over stacked squishy and unstable feeling shoe, works great for me so far. Laces do kinda suck, they also seem to knot up no matter how carefully you untie them. I just put a different pair of laces on them from that giant bag of old laces we all have buried in the closet.
Some of us just want middle of the road. I don’t like shoes that do things for me. That’s why I love this one. Just lets me do my thing for many many miles. (And works well in the gym)
I have ran 34 kilometers in these and its midsole has the perfect balance of softness and firmness that I am looking for in a daily trainer-type of running shoe. I'm alternating this with my Novablast 3 for my daily training needs. :)
Not seen a UK 13.5 on sale yet on this one. Sounds like just as well. I thought adidas would need to do well to produce something worse than the adizero SL. It seems they have achieved it. Probably will be discounted down to about £60 in a few months.
You are confirming what i thought when i first saw them… Adidas really needs to change something in their development. They are constantly doing Strange and stupid stuff… its crazy. They could have soooo good shoes….
Christmas songs Ed...naah humbug.....but will the Fairytale of New York hit the No.1 spot this year..?...Oh the shoes...No thanks Ed, I'll give these a miss... Merry Crimbo from Down Under.
I really do not know why Adidas does these weird geometry feel (void feeling in the heel and forefoot ) when they have one of the best and most balanced foam.
That weight in the sample size sounds like a key stroke error to me, 8.5 in usually the size they go for. All that data you had on your screen... it’s on my one now! 💻
I'm super surprised you didn't like it. And now I'm definitely second-guessing getting when it's released in Canada. Thanks for a good honest review! 👍👍
Kinda looks like a dud. They need another 10 mills in the forefoot in my opinion. The old Supernova line always felt too thin in the forefoot to me.....
Thanks, Edd. I just read about this on BITR, and then immediately looked for your review. I won’t be buying this. Ya know what I miss about adidas? The old Boston, from around 1999-2004. It had adiprene and adiprene+ in it (pre Boost bouncy material), and a nice snug midfoot fit. I used it for training and racing the marathon. Ran a 2:48:29 in ‘em. Really just wish adidas would dust off that design and bring it back with modern materials.
Your review basically reflects my own short run on the demo pair of these in Austin, TX. I went to the event all hyped up and was disappointed with the performance afterwards. If the foam is really PEBA based (or PEBA blended with something else) the ride characteristics were not so. The light gray EVA rods and outsole rubber totally nerfed the performance and the upper is too thick (too much tongue and heel padding). The look of the shoe is OK. I personally think it would make a good casual shoe. I agree Novablast 4 is probably better alternative as a daily trainer.
The bevel is on all adidas models its designed to correct your cadence if you heel strike The rod's of harder rubber on outsole are designed to replicate not bones but tendons in bottom of foot and allowing more flexability without carbon based rods found in Boston ,Sen and others..in adizero shoes try the adidas switch and compare to On..shoe..
Feel like you are the most unbiased reviewer. So many people are hyping this shoe as you can see adidas has been pushing it hard. Appreciate your integrity and being honest
I sometime wonder why those shoes get made. Is there no one during development going hang on guys, what are we doing? They really seem to be having trouble getting their way in the daily running shoe category it would seem. If Puma can nail it in one try with the velocity 1, why is adidas doing so poorly?
At full price, I don't think that many people will be picking up a pair of these. Way too many better shoes available at discount prices.
Im getting a new pair of daily bangers but i just love the Novablast 3 so much that im gettin the EXACT same shoe. its the literal best shoe ever😍😍
You should totally try the supernova 2 I absolutely love mine I thought this was gonna be quite similar but it seems like it’s not…
I had a chance to talk to the lead designer of this shoe. It's interesting, but the future Supernova models coming are looking a bit better.
Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 at £115 at Sportsshoes at the moment, much better deal, still loving mine after a lot of miles!
Better price for more shoe 👍🏼
I like it.
Dankeschön!

Will check out that album!
I think your “missed opportunity “ sums this offering up perfectly. I’ll pass on this one.

I think you are spot on
First person I’ve seen that isn’t riding the hype train on this shoe. It looks mediocre for sure.
Knew this thing would be a pig haha. Adidas love making quirky shoes on the random
It’s weird. Really weird
Thanks for the review Edd. Good value comparison with the Puma Velocity Nitro! You could pick that up at a fraction of the price and it does the same job, probably better! Hopefully, the Adios 9 is a better offering from Adidas.
30 quid more and you'll bet a pair of Adios pro 3
Yeah it’s a weird old shoe

100% agree. Its not the worst shoe I've ever worn but I just don't know why I'd pick it out of the closet over anything else at that price point
Very middle of the road

Glad it works for you. Not into this one at all

It’s just something and nothing Tim. The foam “feels” nice. But the other junk on there dulls any of that pleasure.
You are confirming what i thought when i first saw them… Adidas really needs to change something in their development. They are constantly doing Strange and stupid stuff… its crazy. They could have soooo good shoes….
Yeah it’s a shoe of conflicting design choices.
the world if they stopped putting 10mm drops and increasing prices: 💐🧚♀️🐸🐭🐻🐦
What drop do you prefer?
Always love it when you're so critical😂. You say what you truly believe

Is PEBAX really so expensive for the manufacturers?
I very much doubt it. I'm pretty sure they are making good margins!
Christmas songs Ed...naah humbug.....but will the Fairytale of New York hit the No.1 spot this year..?...Oh the shoes...No thanks Ed, I'll give these a miss... Merry Crimbo from Down Under.
It looks like Wham over here, 2 weeks running now
So it's a FALL or just NICE (not RISE)
GOOD news, I've got too many shoes in the closet/ on my radar.
(like next ADIOS)
One ticked off 😅
Boston 12 w no magic for me tbh. Decent shoe to like walk around ??? I guess, not paying full price for it tho
Such a shame, had high hopes for this one. 🙁
Me too!
Finaly version 2 was better🎉😂🎉😂
V2?
@@EDDBUD V2 better than v1 ALWAYS were so.. comercial strategia..
I've had some great Adidas shoes, but they do have some dull ones too. Sticking with Kinvara for the daily grind. 😊

Hello Sir 🎉
I'm super surprised you didn't like it. And now I'm definitely second-guessing getting when it's released in Canada. Thanks for a good honest review! 👍👍
It’s very middle of the road. No benefit to this foam.
does the foam break in?
Not yet. 14 miles still feels dull
🎉
🥇
I'm looking for a good neutral shoe without too much front rocker and only moderate drop. Not easy it seems.
They look like cheap. Like entry level.
They used the same type of insole in the Solarboost
Question : would you appreciate this model more if it rolled a lower price?
Maybe. But its a misfire for me
Kinda looks like a dud. They need another 10 mills in the forefoot in my opinion. The old Supernova line always felt too thin in the forefoot to me.....
Yes agree 100%

This is something and nothing. It’s a nice midsole. Just ruined by the other elements.
Interesting
Nice!🎉

Thanks mate! Saving us money again. Was on the fence but I’ll pass!

Exactly my thoughts 👍🏼
The Darkness - Massively undervalued band ! Last set of albums with Pinewood Smile & Last of our Kind are superb - Barbarians, fantastic song !
Justing and brother are supreme guitarists.
Somehow zero interest in this one ..
Not for me, a bit like Nike, adidas seem to miss the target quite badly with anything but their top end shoes, say Boston 12 and up!
Agree. The lower end stuff seems to be an afterthought.
Thanks for the review!
I think adidas should really bring back the likes of SL20. 😄
Yes now that was a good well priced shoe
So want a good adidas daily trainer. Adidas SL 2 🤞
The insole looks like solarglide one.

Awful shoe. Shan’t be keeping this one
I guess he's not going to do a 'after 100 miles' video for this one 😅
No chance! 🤣👍🏼
bummer

It’s something and nothing. Nice midsole but hindered by the other junk on there. 👍🏼👊
That Christmas song is really a good one, thanks for the recommendation 👍🏼😅
It's so good!
It does look nice perhaps more of a casual shoe ?
Not the most inspiring running shoe
At the event Addidas claimed 26-36mm for the drop and the plaque is for stability of the foam mostly
They also are aiming at the runner that goes out 2 to 4 day a week for daily training no more
This is the stack and drop for my size. Bigger size bigger stack.
das ist arm. dankeschön.
ooof 🥊
I might even send it back, cant see any reason i want to run in it again
Would you take this over the SL?
Barefoot. 🤣
@@EDDBUD copy
I got it - i got it - I’ll get it at Ross!
Ross shoe for sure
@@EDDBUD no joke! I was there last weekend and found hokas, altras, and even streakflys!!
Thanks, Edd.
Very welcome
