As always superb color choices for an incredible result. Yes, yes I said before the video: "ink, ink it is not dry ! attention !"😂 Merci for this video 💙💜💙
Merci beaucoup pour cela... it's a shame I couldn't hear you!! But maybe it's good to show people that you can make a mistake and it's not the end of the world. So happy you enjoyed the fun as well as the errors! Thank you for your company on this creative journey.
At last I watched your more than an hour of fun. All great, still my favourites are the birch tags. I love how they come to life like real birch trees. I got to try this. I have the stencil, don't know I have all the colors (and not those special tags either), we'll see. I learned! Thank you so much Alison.
I lost track of time because I was having fun! I hope you'll have a lovely time playing with the birches - it's one of my favourite things to do bringing them to life. I could have gone on much longer adding details and adjusting the shading, but I did have a slight sense that it was already getting to be quite a long video!! Thank you as always for your support and wonderful words. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful colour palette. Really enjoyed your tags and look forward to seeing how you used them. I have your winter words stamps and I would definitely add those to any I make. Thank you for the inspiration 😊
Yes, I plan to get the winter words involved somewhere along the line... and maybe the festive Minis from last year. Though that might be with some other backgrounds rather than these. Very happy you enjoyed today's fun. Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment.
Hi Alison, I love your tags they're amazing. I'm going to have a play around tomorrow and see if I can achieve stages as beautiful as yours. I love the way to sometimes make mistakes, but very quickly right them and show that mistakes can actually be a blessing. I could watch your tutorials all day long. You have such a wonderful way with words too - very poetic. You got me singing "A whiter shade of pale", which is great because I love that song. Take care, and enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx❤❤😊😊
Oh, it's a wonderful song, isn't it? That's an "earworm" I don't mind passing on!! Thank you so much for your lovely comment - I'm delighted you are enjoying both the words and pictures here. And yes, I think it's really valuable to see that a "mistake" doesn't have to be a disaster... it's just a way to open up a new creative path. Hope you are having fun playing today, and have a good week.
At around the 28:00 mark you put your embossing powder on over wet distress ink....I'm not entirely sure, but I thought I saw someone 'fix' that same mistake by letting it all air dry, then the embossing powder will fall off the inked part. Maybe not, I gotta go try it and see! And as always I love watching you create and I use your ideas on my greeting cards. I get so many compliments and tell people I learned them from you! Thank you so much!
Yes, that sounds as though it could work... but wouldn't be very time-efficient for filming purposes!! I also rather like the effect I ended up with, which wouldn't have happened without the accident. But yes, do try it out and report back!! I'm delighted you are applying the ideas here in your own crafting - that's wonderful - and thank you for spreading the word about the inspiration too. That's generous of you. Thank you so much for your company on this creative journey, and your comments.
Yes, the mistakes always lead us to new things... that's why they're to be embraced! Very happy you're enjoying both the words and the pictures. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. (Dash it all is more polite than the alternative!!)
There is a certain magic about forests... glorious in dappled sunlight in the daytime, but definitely eerie after dark. It sounds like your mother experienced some of that magic in her youth. Thank you so much for sharing those thoughts.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures You're welcome and thank you for replying. I love your videos. Not only are they inspiring but your voice is tranquil and peaceful but still excited about 'playing'. Thank you for your inspiration.
A beautiful project, as always! Your diction is beautiful Alison, so melodic - I’ve watched a few of your interviews regarding your career not long after subscribing and now understand why - your enthusiasm tempts me to re-read our Shakespearean plays from school :)
As long as you read them out loud, I think that's a brilliant plan! I do have some plans for a word-based podcast in 2025... so you should be able to pick up some Shakespeare tips from that, if and when I get it going. Thank you so much for your company and your lovely comment.
Absolutely wondrous! I've got to put those star stencils on my wishlist. You can't go wrong with stars or with snowflakes. Thank you so much for this inspirational creative art experience! 💯
They are both great stencils - I can never decide which is my favourite! So happy you enjoyed the winter sparkle, and I hope you'll be inspired to have your own few minutes of fun very soon. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
My mom’s family was from the Czech Republic. She visited in the late 1970s and talked about the forests- lots of mushrooms sent to us from our relatives. Love your tags!
Yes, they're very big on mushrooms here! And the forests are definitely beautiful. So happy you enjoyed the video - thank you so much for watching and commenting. Děkuju!
As always your work is so beautiful and the videos are relaxing. Also, thanks for the reminder of some of these stencils, I keep forgetting to get them. TFS 🙂 Hugs ~Steff~ 🤎
So happy you enjoyed the fun, thank you! Happy to provide a reminder... sometimes I can go months without using stencils at all, and then I suddenly remember how useful and fun they are. It's the blessing and the curse of having lots of toys to play with in the craft room!! Happy Sunday to you, Steff!
I really enjoyed watching these beautiful winter landscapes/skyscapes coming to life. It's good to see how to rescue things too - we've all been there! (I know you're not a big fan of gilding wax, but some silver gilding wax would also look lovely on the stars). I liked the idea of the stamped 'snow' behind the trees which looks so magical. Thank you.
Thank you - I've got nothing against a little bit of gilding, but it's definitely a seasonal thing for me... at this time of year, it's almost bound to turn up at some point! Very happy you enjoyed the wintry backgrounds - next steps on some of these will be coming soon! Have a great week.
I’m so glad I’ve just found you! I’ve only recently got into stamping and journaling after too long away from my creative side and your style speaks to my heart, your work is incredibly beautiful and your videos are so therapeutic and helpful. Thank you !! ❤

Thank you so much Alison I really really enjoyed watching you create all those glorious tags. They would make a great card topper. I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤ them all. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Yes, indeed - easy enough to add them to a pre-folded card with some design papers in between, and you're done! Happy you enjoyed the wintery backgrounds. Thanks for your company on this creative journey.
Much better to actually see it happen, right? I can't promise you won't forget... that's not my first time doing it, and I still forget!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comment.
By coincidence, I was planning on making tree and starry backgrounds today, and you’ve given me ideas of different mediums to try for the stars and trees. Thanks, Alison for furthering my enthusiasm to play and experiment.
Stellar. That was absolutely stellar. Pun intended! 🌟🌟🌟 You make it all look so easy and effortless. You are amazingly talented. 💫 Considering I am in the process of moving across the country to a home in the middle of 3 1/2 acres of forest, the birch tags really spoke to me. I enjoyed every moment of this video Cousin Alison. Train whistle and all. Thank you so much! ❄️❄️❄️ 🌲🌲🌲 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm so happy you enjoyed it... as you saw, as long as you're taking everything as playtime, then "mistakes" can often open up new creative pathways - I think that's part of what makes it look "easy" - if it's playtime, it should be effortless! Good luck with the rest of the move. What a joy to be moving into a forested area! Have a great week.
Pity I couldn't hear you!! Ah well, I think it's useful to see that a "mistake" sometimes opens up a new creative pathway... It's not the first time I've forgotten about wet ink when embossing, and I'm sure it won't be the last! Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Thanks Alison, that was so much fun to watch. Beautiful tags, every one of them. I have been trying to distract myself from pain since 1:30 this morning and this helped SO much. Thanks again for the wonderful video! I hope you have a super weekend.
Oh dear - happy to be of some small help in pain management. I'm happy the frosty sparkle provided a bit of distraction. Hope your weekend gets better from here.
Happy you found your way here - welcome! So glad to hear you are inspired to have a play, and I hope you'll enjoy exploring some more on the channel. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I was just literally thinking about using similar colors for some bookmarks! Now I have lots of ideas… and I want to use a variety of different stencils, too! Thank you for sharing. These are lovely.
Hi Alison! BBBRRRR Not sure I was ready for winter but I’ll just grab another blanket! LOL I love birch trees… our parents had a birch tree in the back yard for many years until sadly it died. When my brother cut it down, each of us kids got a chunk of it to use as decor at our own homes. I love that elongated star stencil - it’s one of my favorite TH stencils. I’m so far behind as I haven’t really finished playing with Summer, let alone Autumn now winter! Looks like the key is to play with SOMETHING! I appreciate your patience waiting for the embossing powder to melt using the Ranger Heat It tool - love the tool for drying things but I use a Wagner tool to melt embossing powders. I was actually hoping to do sample swatches this weekend of the rest of the embossing glazes and now 36 Spritzes - so glad the tins are finally out to store them in. I am apparently out of small labels to print the distress names on so I got stuck… sounds like an excuse so it should show that I was just too tired to play. What a lovely extended session of fun that you enjoyed creating and I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Until next time, take care and have a wonderful week! 🙂
I've often thought of getting a dedicated embossing heat tool, but then it seems indulgent (particularly bearing in mind that until my UK one recently bit the dust, I had the Ranger three times over - one with a UK plug, one for the EU and one for the US, since I regularly worked in all those places for extended periods of time!). I'm not done with autumn yet either, but there are frosts and occasional snow showers along with our autumn leaves at the moment, so I can feel that winter is coming. And I just wanted to play with some stars and night skies because of the beautiful starry night we had after more than a week of overcast skies! How wonderful to have some of the family birch tree preserved in each of your houses - that's my kind of decor. Have a great week - and yes, play... whether it's summer or autumn or winter crafting... play!!
Happy you found your way here - welcome! I'm delighted you liked the video, and I hope you'll enjoy exploring more on the channel here. Thanks so much for watching, commenting and subscribing.
Thank you for all your inspirational videos, your style just resonates with something in me and has inspired me to pick up art materials that have been lying neglected for far too long. I particularly loved your journal page with the birch trees - what IS that stamp you have used in the foreground! It speaks to me of blackberries at the end of autumn when the last papery leaves cling to the brambles, my favourite time of year.
What a beautiful comment - thank you for that. I'm thrilled that my work has inspired you to get out your art supplies again and play. I think from looking at it (think - it's almost ten years since I made that page!) that it's repeat stamping of one or maybe two stamps in a set by Stampology called Silhouette Blossoms, designed by Katie Pertiet. From a quick google search, it looks as though it may no longer be available, I'm afraid. But it's possible you might still locate a set on ebay, or in the "back room" of an online craft store somewhere. Sorry I can't be more help... I know exactly what you mean about the brambles! Have a good weekend.
@ I so appreciate you taking the time to get back to me! What a shame that stamp is not available, it is stunning. I had not heard of Katie Pertiet but found her on Google and I’ve just lost several hours immersed in her work, though it seems she now focuses mostly on digital images. I love the unpredictability of working with inks and paints so will scavenge through my existing stamps, I’m sure there is something in there that will create a similar effect. One plus came out of my searching - I found someone in the UK that has your “Autumn” quote stamp and a couple of your botanicals I have been searching for, they are not readily available in Australia. Thank you once again, Faye.
Yes, Katie has designed various lovely products over the years for several different companies. Happy that you found some more inspiration in your searching, and yes, do have a play with whatever supplies you've already got... you may surprise yourself! I'm delighted you found some more of my stamps too. Australia is a bit tricky. There are several PaperArtsy stockists there, but not all of them carry all of the PaperArtsy lines (there are so many!). Crafters Cupboard are usually a good bet for my designs - just so you know for the future! crafterscupboard.com.au/index.php?route=product/search&search=Alison%20Bomber (On the plus side, I just read that Australia and NZ are going to be the best place to have a chance of surviving if the world descends into nuclear war!!) Here's the full stockist list in case you ever want to do any extra searching... blog.paperartsy.co.uk/p/find-stockist.html Happy Sunday to you.
Happy you like them, but I have to say, it's probably not going to get a lot more "Christmassy" than this. I mean, these will get some other layers and collaging and probably festive greenery over the top, but if you're hoping for traditional red and green, you'll need to find that elsewhere! There might be the odd red berry turning up, but other than that... Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Love watching your videos and listening to your soothing voice. Can you let me know on the birch forest tags what stamp you used with the darker floral forestry branches on the forefront or did you hand ink them? Just beautiful.
Very happy you are enjoying both the words and the pictures, thank you! If you mean the branches in the birch tree journal page spread at the beginning, I think from looking at it (think - it's almost ten years since I made that page!) that it's repeat stamping of one or maybe two stamps in a set by Stampology called Silhouette Blossoms, designed by Katie Pertiet. From a quick google search, it looks as though it may no longer be available, I'm afraid. But it's possible you might still locate a set on ebay, or in the "back room" of an online craft store somewhere. Always so sad when they discontinue a beautiful stamp set.
I’m not familiar with any of these texture products and love the results. Where can I find out more? And how do you get the sprinkles to stay in place? Thank you so much!
I've listed all the products used in the description below the video, so if you google search on their names and brands, you should find local stockists for them. There's lots of information on the Ranger website about their products rangerink.com/ and they have a UA-cam channel too: www.youtube.com/@ranger_ink Or check out Tim Holtz's own website (he's the designer of so many of the products I use) timholtz.com/ for endless inspiration, information and links to demos and videos. The mediums are moist and sticky - like glue (in fact the gloss gel is basically a glue) so the glitter sticks to it, exactly like doing glitter when you were four years old. Also, there's loads more texture paste playtime in this series of videos here on my channel, as well as in lots of other videos here: ua-cam.com/video/6geLyMM-yHw/v-deo.html Hope that helps. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment.
Yes, you can definitely use Oxides... it will be a slightly different look, as they are opaque rather than having that translucent glow, but there's nothing wrong with that! Happy you're inspired to have a play, and I hope you'll have fun. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Glad you enjoyed it. Sometimes I stop to dry things and sometimes I don't... you can always skip past the drying stages if they bother you. Thanks for watching and commenting.

How wonderful to have some of the family birch tree preserved in each of your houses - that's my kind of decor. Have a great week - and yes, play... whether it's summer or autumn or winter crafting... play!!
So much inspiration. Thank you Alison.
You're very welcome! Hope you'll enjoy your own few minutes of fun very soon. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
SPARKLING ❤❤❤
Thank you... this time of year brings it out in me!!
These are glorious!! Thank you for the inspiration! 💗
You're very welcome - I hope you'll have your own few minutes of fun soon. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Wow you are so talented.
That's very kind, thank you - but it's really just playing with nice materials... no talent required!
So pretty ❤️
Thank you very much.
Absolutely stunning. Your videos mesmerise me ❤ xx
Oh, what lovely feedback - thank you so much for that.
This is really cool! I'm glad I found your 😊. Thank you, I subscribed 😊

Oh my! Perfect ❤
Thank you - it seemed about time for a touch of frosty sparkle!
🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much for stopping by - happy you enjoyed it!
Crafters Cupboard are usually a good bet for my designs - just so you know for the future!
crafterscupboard.com.au/index.php?route=product/search&search=Alison%20Bomber (On the plus side, I just read that Australia and NZ are going to be the best place to have a chance of surviving if the world descends into nuclear war!!)
Here's the full stockist list in case you ever want to do any extra searching...

Happy Sunday to you.
Oh das sieht zauberhaft aus, Freude pur und ich versuche es auch zu machen. Liebe Grüße von Barbara
Vielen Dank... und viel Freude beim Spielen!
I am really hoping for some christmas tags........these are beautiful though
Happy you like them, but I have to say, it's probably not going to get a lot more "Christmassy" than this. I mean, these will get some other layers and collaging and probably festive greenery over the top, but if you're hoping for traditional red and green, you'll need to find that elsewhere! There might be the odd red berry turning up, but other than that... Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Yessssss❤
Thank you - time for some frosty sparkle!
Love your ideas, thank you for sharing your creativity. What was that small journal you showed in the beginning?
Happy you enjoyed the video, thank you. It's the small Moleskine sketchbook, 14 x 9cm (about 5.5 x 3.5 inches).
Thank you for your quick response and research on the stamp you used!
Gorgeous.
Any chance a winter version of your tissue paper is on the horizon?
Not this year, I'm afraid... but tissue paper plans are definitely in the pipeline! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I’m not familiar with any of these texture products and love the results. Where can I find out more? And how do you get the sprinkles to stay in place? Thank you so much!
I've listed all the products used in the description below the video, so if you google search on their names and brands, you should find local stockists for them. There's lots of information on the Ranger website about their products rangerink.com/ and they have a UA-cam channel too: www.youtube.com/@ranger_ink
Or check out Tim Holtz's own website (he's the designer of so many of the products I use) timholtz.com/ for endless inspiration, information and links to demos and videos.
The mediums are moist and sticky - like glue (in fact the gloss gel is basically a glue) so the glitter sticks to it, exactly like doing glitter when you were four years old.
Also, there's loads more texture paste playtime in this series of videos here on my channel, as well as in lots of other videos here: ua-cam.com/video/6geLyMM-yHw/v-deo.html
Hope that helps. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment.
@@w0rdsandp1cturesThank you so very much. I really do appreciate all of the information and direction. This will be great fun. Thanks😉
Happy to help... but watch out, it's a slippery slope. I started out with a few Distress Inks a dozen years ago, and never looked back!
I see you use distress inks and not the oxides. I have mostly the oxides….would they suffice for this?
Yes, you can definitely use Oxides... it will be a slightly different look, as they are opaque rather than having that translucent glow, but there's nothing wrong with that! Happy you're inspired to have a play, and I hope you'll have fun. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures THANK YOU ALISON! LOVE ALL OF YOUR WORKS!!!!
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
Thank you very much.
Very informative, charming too, though with you would stop camera when drying
Glad you enjoyed it. Sometimes I stop to dry things and sometimes I don't... you can always skip past the drying stages if they bother you. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That should've said - TAGS as beautiful as yours, not stages!!! YT predictive text is mad sometimes!! 😊
I got it!!
