I don't know what it is, but the 110 and the 112 just draw me back in every time I see one. That's a great find - awesome deal! I rarely carry my 110 out any more as I want a lighter weight knife but every time I hold it, I fall back in love
Nice full blade very clean and tight, I call that excellent for a 2 dot. Man I love the darker wood on the older ones. 35$ is a great deal on that one.
Nice knife, well taken care of. I never felt the need to buy the 110, but now that I actually collect knives I will probably end up with an old one. I have a Sears Craftsman that is always mistaken for a 110. Same pin setup as the 110 except the pins are brass and the pivot is nickel silver. Special to me because I have been carrying it when fishing since I bought it in 1973!
Absolutely killer video! That 110 is in excellent condition!! scratches are totally normal and to be expected. Gapping is very common in lockbacks and like you said does not effect in any way! But there is no damage to bolsters etc. all the meat is on the bone. And she is tight! Absolutely fantastic purchase !! I’m happy for you on this one! And that proper date sheath had your name all over it when I seen you purchased this! Can’t wait to see you rocking this CASSIC!!! 🔥 💯
Brother, thanks so much!! This one is the favorite of the 3 I purchased that night. I’d really been wanting a vintage Buck user and finally got a great one!! Thanks for always helping me with info on these and offering that sheath, can’t wait to mate the 2!!
That 110 was a great find! It looks to be in excellent shape, especially for being so old. My 110 is a 4 dot and If I remember correctly I bought it new in 84 or 85.
I've got a 80-81 Buck 112 that went on my duty belt for my 1st 20 years of law enforcement. I've since gone to something lighter but that knife has been a hammer, gone through game, used for food prep and fingerprint tape... It tells my story better than I do and it hasn't fallen apart like I've started to. Great knife ! I haven't finished with it yet but it will go to my son. It's been my most used and longest carried piece of kit I've ever had. Blocky, yes - but awesome!
Man, that’s a beauty! Great find Big J! Excellent comparison of a newer 110 to your vintage one. And I prefer the older ones. You hang in there brother. Feel better! 🙏🙏
Another nice one that should be a keeper. The wood on those older ones - and I do mean wood - is always much nicer than the plywood stuff Buck uses these days.
Hope you feel better soon and thanks for soldiering through and getting this video out there. I've been anticipating this video since I saw the pics you posted. That was the vintage of my first Buck 110 that I wish I would have held onto. I picked up a 1981 Western 541 that I liked better - less blocky and the nickel silver bolsters didn't need much attention to keep them looking good - so the Buck was traded off. Fast forward several decades and a friend of mine who held onto his sold me his 70's vintage 110. He used it hard and it showed. There was enough blade on it to make it worth my while to send it back to Buck for the "spa treatment." I just got notification from Buck that it's on its way back to me and should be here early next week. Your pictures and video have me even more eager to get it back. Great score on a beautiful knife. I'd be interested to know what you think of the older Buck's steel once you've had a chance to sharpen and use it.
Thanks very much Mo!! I definitely plan on carrying this and using so I need to get her sharpened up soon!! Very glad you got yours on the way back and can’t wait to see your posts of it as well!!
Man I’m telling you if you’re not playing the power ball already you have the luck to win it!! I probably would have jerked my arm and that guys arm out of socket for a vintage 110 for $35! You are in some alternate dimension finding those deals man!!
He had this in a sleeve he only breaks out for certain folks. I couldn’t leave it there to just stay packed away, I had to pull the trigger and when he said $35 I couldn’t resist.
there were 2 of 2 ads. i let both ads play. hit the like. i know the drill. hope you always do it for me to. to bad we didnt see you yesterday. i got a cheap fillet knife from the knife guy. but a real nice leather sheath. maybe you can go on may 10th and meet us at the amish sale. check out the hatchets. butcher knives. a few case on there. a case cleaver. mint shape. another few case butcher knives. great shape. other cool brands. and it is just fun. caught me 2 channel catfish tonight. 20 inch and 18. just got done cleaning them. maybe james will come over for a fish fry tomorrow night. well take care bro. i didnt film tonight but i got a few good photos that will turn into a tiny photo slide show to show my first illinois fish i caught. peace out.

@@bigjsknives yes it’s completely understandable I’m really upset that it ended and I’m very grateful that it was as long as it lasted and it would be selfish of me to want it to continue knowing that you took so much of your time getting things together to produce a great and very successful show. I’m just grateful that I have made a great friendship with you and Kevin. But you enjoy your time because you work hard and you have animals to take care of so just know I’m super grateful to you and I could honestly never ever do enough to repay you for everything you’ve done for me. 💯 agree brother!! These are just fantastic blades that can handle a lot!! Thanks 🙏 for checking it out!!
So true. I wanted one from the moment I saw my first back in 1974. Seeing BigJ's vintage 110 gives me just as much fizz as it did back then.
Great looking knives. I love buck 110s never handled a new one. I have square edges on mine
Thanks very much!! I’ve carried this one since getting it, has so much more character!!

Nice to see a two-dot with most of the blade intact. Every one I've come across has been sharpened down to dang near nothing. Great piece, buddy!

What do you have if there're no dots or lines? I bought mine in either 1973 or 1974.
