Dagan takes us through all the great features on the Electro Harmonix Canyon Delay and Looper Pedal, the newest offering from the team at EHX. With this small, but powerful pedal, you get an entire pedal board's worth of all analogue delay effects!
The EHX Canyon contains 10 different delay modes as well as an on board looper that can give you up to 62 seconds of loop time. Watch as Dagan scrolls through the different delays including, Echo, Modulated delay, Multi-tap delay, Reverse delay, the DMM delay modelled on the EHX Deluxe Memory Man, Tape Delay, Verb which is a combination of delay and reverb, Octave delay, Shimmer mode and the S/H Sample and Hold mode.

This was an entertaining demo! Gf is getting annoyed that I'm trying to recreate all the sounds coming from the video and is getting annoyed at my weak accent. Lol

Love the demo :-) - I just wanted to add a minor "correction" at the 15:00 mark - you actually CAN "play over" the top of the S/H setting. You just need to adjust "attack level" so that it requires a more pronounced attack on the strings in order to trigger the effect. Then you can play anything at a softer picking attack and it will not trigger the effect until you pluck the strings HARD. You can even use this effect setting to create a background rhythm track by doing a hard "muted string pluck", then that sound will continue like a click track in the background as if it was done with a looper ;-) COOL PEDAL - I just ordered one a couple days ago, waiting for it to arrive :-)
or set it to trails mode and bypass the effect

Fun and very complete demo, I'll be buying this amazing pedal. One correction, though: there is a way play over the sample and hold mode because I've just seen it done in another demo.

I can’t speak for the ukulele because mine is a straight acoustic Uke, but it sounds great on an acoustic guitar. I use it at church almost every week with my Martin.
I’d say go for it. It’s not very expensive so even if it doesn’t work for you or it just isn’t your thing, you won’t have a ton invested in it.

Are the adjusts you make saved when you change mode and then go back?
Is there any way to loop while having one of the delay modes enabled or can you only loop without delay??

Great demo, great pedal. Also worth noting it comes with a hefty, 12 volt power supply
Does it make a difference? I just bought one and connected it to my 9 volt isolated power supply, it came with the original adapter though.
If I’m doing my third loop can i erase that third loop and the previous one too or do i only have the option to erase one loop only?!
I heard there’s a bunch of Easter eggs ,secret tricks u can do that aren’t in the manual.. who knows any?

One thing he missed is that when you turn down the delay time and/or feedback on the effected delays (Mod, Verb, Oct) you get a "straight" version of the effect, making this little box one of the most compact multi-effects you can find in this pricepoint.
I have one but does it need to be connected to the charger in order to work ??
Nice feature that I can use it as a reverb jusb by rolling out the feedback. But can I use it as a POG by doing the same in the octave mode?

Sometimes I use it as an actual octaver and it works well but when I press the footswitch to bypass it, when I turn it on again it is delayed... Can it work alwas as an actual octaver?

Gotta wonder why they made the looper so it doesn't work with the rest of the pedal. Maybe there was space on the circuit board so they just chucked it on.

No. You can’t use any fx with the looper. It’s just a looper

That's all nice and good but there is no effects in this pedal that I would really need. How is it at good old fashion slap back echo 50's style? Thinking an MXR Carbon Copy would be more useful without the other crap.

I would genuinely appreciate it if someone could prove me wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure that looper function is bloody useless if you were hoping to use it for the Canyon pedals effects. By selecting the looper, you cannot select the other effects, so I guess if you don't have another looper pedal then great, now you have one in the Canyon, but whilst ever it's a looper, it's nothing else!
All options in this pedal were intended for individual use.
