@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I'm fine now, thanks! I play guitar for about 20 years and tried 25-30 pedals I gues, so not that much. Delay is my favourite effect and I like small pedals. Now that I know all the possibilities of this pedal, I'm blown away. The price is also great so this pedal is not going to leave my board soon ;).
Thank you so very much for taking the time to put this tutorial together. I bought this pedal to add to my "all-in-one" effects processor because I also want to use it for my synth rig. This helped me so much! Even though I spend all my time fiddling with oscillators and filters, there's a lot to this little pedal and I appreciated seeing first hand how it works and sounds. Mine came without a manual, and even this old analog synth programmer would have had no idea how to fully use the Canyon. You rock, my friend!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for taking the time to do this post,,,, I just purchased this pedal and you have been a HUGE blessing with this tutorial!!!!!!
excellent review. i bought this pedal today and skimmed through the manual and i didnt comprehend hardly any of it. thanks. now i kind of understand it some. i havent owned any pedals since around 1988 or 1990. they are pretty sophisticated these days. technology seems to go over my head. i have alot of catching up to do.
Awesome! Yeah i got this pedal recently and really haven’t tried it all that much but that’s cool that you took the time to make this video on some insights and features i got a better understanding on how to use it and of course “read the manual “ lol! Anyways thanks for breaking it down.
I know most can pick up what you're putting down, but I'm a dinosaur. I'll be spending the rest of my days trying to learn this. I actually bought it for the looper. Hope I can figure that out. Thanks.
Please take this as constructive criticism, this video is very introductory. I just got this pedal and could do a review like this as soon as I open the box. What I was looking for was a video that could show me the best features of the pedal, in your opinion. In future, please spend time with the product you demo before you turn the camera on. Bust out the secret settings, dial them in, write knob positions down on paper (or in the manual) and then show us what you came up with. See if those settings work for us, or if we have to tweak them subtly find what works for us. Thanks!
This video is for people who know nothing about the pedal. By learning what the pedal can do makes you better prepared to find your own sounds. Thanks for watching and giving me your thoughts. I mainly used this pedal for the shimmer sound.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios the shimmer setting is killer! And this pedal together with oceans 11 reverb, the options are endless! One thing I learned from your video is that truetone one spot can power this pedal in all of its settings, many other power systems won't allow the shimmer and octave settings to work. Some guy was arguing with me saying that you have to use the dedicated ehx power supply, I'll stick to my one spot, thanks! It is much more convenient to daisy chain 5 pedals than only 1! Cheers.
I've gotta get me one of these pedals since I love psychedelic music and I love the shimmer and reverse settings. That ought to make for some really cool psychedelic music; and of course I'll need to get a wah wah pedal too.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Got it, sir. I just have to tap the pedal for four times, and then that's it! Thank you so much! Your explanation bout this feature is at 1:15

Hi Jerry, for country music you would want to set to the analog delay sound and then turn the delay time knob for a good slap back sound. This pedal can do it all you and you won't find anything better than this for getting simple delay tones. It even has a tap tempo so you can get certain delay times if you need. it. Hope that helps, Nathan
I just bought but since I’ve been trying to find a video to see the difference between this and their larger one (the Grand Canyon). I see the Grand Canyon has stereo output with ping pong, longer looper time and about 3 more effects. I’m not sure if I should buy the Grand Canyon and send the Canyon back before I use it.
As an adhd'er I never read manuals but it was necesarry for this pedal. Thanks for your chillness, like your style.
Glad it was helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions. Its a great sounding pedal.

Just found this video after getting the Canyon pedal. Thank you so much for such a wonderful comprehensive walkthrough. Greatly appreciated!

Thanks for running through all this! It was super helpful to figure out the pedal with examples.
Great video!!! This was extremely helpful. Honestly, I had no idea what this pedal could really do.
Thanks for taking the time to do this, so helpful!
your welcome Frank. I had fun.
Absolute legend - thanks for this

Just picked one up. Read the manual 2wice and couldn't get it straight. This video made the difference. Thanks!

Cool. Just ordered mine so its useful to have a look at the manual and watch someone explain all the feature.

Its not hard. Anyone at any age can learn.
The tc Electronics Ditto looper is a straight-forward, easy to use looper. Might be more suited to your needs!

The reverse doesn’t really shine unless u play melodic lines. But it sounds pretty good.
I don’t think I saw you go into the loop effect at all or did I miss it?
Thank you for this!
Great demo
Nice job, man. Thanks.
I like everything it can do but how do you find jjust a sweet Reverb without delay.
Put it on the “verb” mode. Then turn feedback and delay all the way down. Then just turn the fx level about 1/3 of the way up
@@jetwork131 Thanks so much.

Just gotta let it out
Very cool
Thanks for watching.
can you record the delay using the looper, or does recording with the looper turn off the delay?
Hey man, the looper turns off the delay. I bought an EHX Looper 720 which works really well when chained with the Canyon
Thanks for the info.
This is a great pedal. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video, thanks! What state are you from?
Da Guvna Tennessee
I guess I'm confused on why you didn't demo the loop feature and how it works.
Its just a basic looper. This was released years ago so who knows.
when I try to reset this one it doesn't cycle through the greed led light just quick orange then red and no green
What's the switch like on this pedal, is it soft or does it click when switching on? Thanks for the great demo
Jack Sharp soft switch from what I remember.
How can we turn on the tap tempo feature?
I don’t remember but you either hold down the switch for 2 seconds or just start tapping.

So flashing fast is the type of delay. Flashing slow is secondary edit mode. What does the red light mean?
Secondary mode? I can't remember.
The light color represents the tap divide setting. Red light means quarter note, yellow light means dotted eighth note, green is 16th note
Does anyone know if this is true bypass?
I think it is.
Sure sounds harsh to me. Thanks for your demo.
Results may vary on guitar or amp setup. No doubt this pedal sounds great.

Tail switch?

Yes, it has a setting for that.
I was gonna like until you skipped loop mode
its like any other delay/loop pedal. Can't win them all :)
