Chris was my favourite character his and Tony’s relationship was what made it the realest the chemistry between them was unmatched by any other mafia cinema they made the show, and Paulie lol
The amount of Sopranos references/quotes/connotations of Sopranos scenes David Chase was able to weave so elegantly into the “Many Saints of Newark” movie… I was dumbfounded. As someone who has watched the Sopranos 9-10 times through… you really have to be a huge fan of the show to catch it all. Jamie couldn’t have said it better… he really does not waste dialogue. Legend. 🐐
Many Saints watches like an anti Italian hit piece. I thought it lacked focus, and seemed to be designed to exacerbate racial tensions. It was a mess, and I hope the next movie is better.
I love the natural chemistry between Jamie and Michael. The fact they're both on the same level of intelligence makes for fascinating insights regarding The Sopranos.

I feel like Michael interviews just like David Chase. Leaning on his arms, hands on the face, very casual and almost lazy. Cool to see his mannerisms picked up by someone who clearly looks up to Chase.

So I revisit often as it helps me cope in a weird way. This month marks the 10 year mark for him. So watching it is a weird comfort. So Ive rewatched it once already, that was our Sunday night gig. I feel this as well. I was around the same age as AJ as the show was running and at some point we got HBO, probably sometime during the second or third season. My dad, my little brother, and I used to watch the show every Sunday night through all those years so it really takes me back to a different, simpler time. It’s like we live on a different planet these days.
when i heard his voice at the start of the movie i cheered! wish it was a mini series but still loved the movie, Hopefully they do a series of young tony !
I didn't get to watch Sopranos when it aired on HBO, I started watching it on A&E around 2012. I really enjoyed the show. It had great story and great characters. I even enjoyed the prequel movie. I hope they make a sequel. I also enjoyed the Sopranos podcasts. You are all amazing actors. RIP James Gandolfini, Frank Vincent and Nancy Marchland.
Many Saints of Newark was not a bad movie. It needed more run time to fully flesh out the many plotlines. Not sure why people keep saying it's "woke". There's nothing "woke" about it. Harold was portrayed as a bad person just like the Italian mobsters. He took the message of the Black power movement going on at the time and used it to make himself a better criminal. Just like how Tony would use Melfi's advice to become a better gangster.
Decent movie, great actors and everything else. The references were there, and even comical at times like Junior saying "He don't have the makings of a varsity athlete" which became a meme from the original series. I didn't feel like it was woke, I'm usually the first to notice these things. But the Jersey Riots was a big part of the period the story takes place and a motivator for the antagonist, they're not trying to be woke but be realistic for the times. My only problem with it is that they just tried to cram too much story into a 2 hour movie, and it all just flashes by and isn't properly explained, jumping from scene to scene. And I felt like the mafia element was mostly absent. Don't even know what rank Dickie was. Just a solider perhaps? I think a longer movie or a miniseries would've been better, but maybe they will do a miniseries next because the ending kind of sets something up with Tony, like Dickie's death being a decision maker for Tony joining the mob - Which they could totally make a series out of.
What was the point of harold? I figured he was going to be the one to kill dickie but after watching the movie i feel like his character was pointless.
The best part of that graveyard open was all the dead were still yammering about their problems and gripes and grievances. And Christopher is also still trying to hustle his side of things too.
Completely agree with Imperioli and Scorcese about superhero films. They can be entertaining, but ultimately a waste of time. But I get the part about how well made they are and details and such, but to each his own.
This just popped up in my feed. Kassem. This is where you landed! For those of the unitiated Kassem used to interview people of the Adult industry and he was good at it. I can't believe that he lucked out. How long has this podcast been on? Are Robert Jamie and Kassem on the Pod weekly?
It was good as bottle story with some AMAZING moments of they leave it at that.. If they make it a show it will go down as one of the best pilots of all time
Sopranos is nostalgic for me- my father and Tony are a lot alike, my mom, a beautiful blonde woman is a lot like Carmella. I wasn’t allowed to watch the show until I moved out of my parents house but once I was able to it really hit me… I didn’t ever ask him “Dad… Are you in the mafia?” 🤣
The movie was good I think some people don’t like it because a movie can only be so long they fein for a season length of it with more dialogue. Michael did a great job.
Huge Sopranos fan but when I hear cast members reminiscing and they say, "remember when". I can't help but think about the classic Tony Soprano line of, "remember when is the lowest form of conversation".
No Disrespect but The Soprano's is too complex to make into movie form , The movie moved too swiftly , were you have a whole season to fit in the multiple story arcs . But it did remind me of the Pilot episode , Every Performance was Top Notch . Thanx To Everyone ; )
I loved the series, and the movie. It ties so many things together, and exposes the lies that were told that were needed to keep the family together. BUT, I think there is a gap now that has to be filled between the movie and the series. A gap that needs to tell the story of how Tony Soprano chose to go into that life, and how Christopher was raised and the events that took him down his path. We can all assume, both life paths tie directly back to Dickie. Tony chose that life, because he held Dickie in such high regard, that "if this life is good enough for Dickie, then it's good enough for me". And Christopher's path ties to Tony's, he sees Tony as a father-figure, and follows the same path. We see how both character's could have had different lives if Dickie had lived....and Corrado (Junior) never paid the price for his actions.
I loved the Sopranos when it aired, but rewatching it now, it is just so much richer. So I revisit often as it helps me cope in a weird way. This month marks the 10 year mark for him. So watching it is a weird comfort. So Ive rewatched it once already, that was our Sunday night gig. He would watch it at home while I watched w my husband in my early 20s. We would call each other after each Sunday and talk about it. Im on my 2nd rewatch. It's such a comfortable feeling. It's weird in a good way. ❤️
@@sandrafry8268 I feel for you. I do. Lost my father many years before, unexpectedly and this show, for some reason... helps me a little even though none of my family has ever seen it or heard of it!
Love you guys! Keep the fun content coming
Jamie-lynn Sigler is such a nice person.
I love the sopranos universe “Many saints” “talking sopranos” , “made woman” “pajama pans”
Of course Christopher did the voice over for the movie. The movie is named after him. Moltisanti = Many saints
Holy fuck!!
I think Michael Imperioli is an icon.
when i heard his voice at the start of the movie i cheered! wish it was a mini series but still loved the movie, Hopefully they do a series of young tony !
I loved your TV show Life on Mars... That show kicked ass.
Anyone who gives a review on the movie but then says they have not watched the series, I then can't take there opinion seriously
RIP James Gandolfini, Frank Vincent and Nancy Marchland.
you know what I love more than Sopranos

The sopranos was and is the Greatest show on earth, but I get so sad about James, it seems to have really hit me and I don’t even know him personally
Watch it Chrissy!
I used to legit be in love w Jamie... I think i still am. God she's so beautiful
Exactly!
This, this and this.
Can't believe people are calling it "woke".
Definitely not the same movie I watched.
@@dub_dub1504 According to Michael Franzese, the film was actually more offensive to Italian Americans than African Americans.
Michael should do a podcast with
John A(Artie Bucco)🤌
The best part of that graveyard open was all the dead were still yammering about their problems and gripes and grievances. And Christopher is also still trying to hustle his side of things too.
I’ve been waiting for this!!!!🥳
Completely agree with Imperioli and Scorcese about superhero films. They can be entertaining, but ultimately a waste of time. But I get the part about how well made they are and details and such, but to each his own.
Love this guys vibe.
Kassem adds absolutely nothing to this conversation.
Nothing to contribute with that ACID TONGUE of his.
@Jeepman89 No, he’s not. I wonder why he’s there every time I watch this podcast. He’s the ultimate fish out of water.
@@markmansfieldsbwc4674- he would have been a good boyfriend for Meadow
Ok, another one with Michael Imperioli. Thats awesome. I wish Drea would come on Talking Sopranos tho.
i think she has before?
She has come on 3 times already too
Yeah its strange. No Tony Sirico either.
@@nowey2251 She hasn’t been on talking sopranos.
Is it because of Steve she hasn’t been on? I noticed he hasn’t been on drea’s podcast but Micheal has been.
The sequel show could be 'not talking sopranos'. Great pod. thank you.
Good to see Jamie Lynn in good health. Thank you for your wonderful proformance as Meadow Soprano.
This just popped up in my feed. Kassem. This is where you landed! For those of the unitiated Kassem used to interview people of the Adult industry and he was good at it. I can't believe that he lucked out. How long has this podcast been on? Are Robert Jamie and Kassem on the Pod weekly?
do you guys get royalties from hbo each year off sopranos, the show itself gets hbo so many new subscriptions each year
great question!
I would think so, have any of them had big roles since then?
It was good as bottle story with some AMAZING moments of they leave it at that.. If they make it a show it will go down as one of the best pilots of all time
Sorry, I'm making head canon where this is Meadow and AJ current year Skyping.
Continue What? 🤣….well said. I will be sad that TS will be gone but all things need to end.
Michael sounds like he doesn’t want to talk sopranos anymore.
He sounds so disinterested, bordering on annoyed.
He knows the movie wasnt that great
That cuckold fest masquerading as a movie sucked!!!!!
Huge Sopranos fan but when I hear cast members reminiscing and they say, "remember when". I can't help but think about the classic Tony Soprano line of, "remember when is the lowest form of conversation".
That paulys favorite topic
Michael and spirituality...I would definitely be interested in that podcast 😍 loving this episode!! 💖
No Disrespect but The Soprano's is too complex to make into movie form , The movie moved too swiftly , were you have a whole season to fit in the multiple story arcs . But it did remind me of the Pilot episode , Every Performance was Top Notch . Thanx To Everyone ; )
Agreed. I don't think the movie was the worst thing in the world but a 13 episode short series would have been so much better.
The only guy I know who can smoke a cigarette in the rain. That nose….it’s a natural canopy.😎
I had no idea this was going on!
:)
She’s right I would definitely like to see them go in and dissect another show
