Love to see a stumpy evo on highest level Enduro racing! The hype is real I love mine they can handle a lot of abuse and they are fast. Just check Mr. Murray's results. 👍
The videos from you and TP this season have been rad! Some really great insight from you guys on set-up. Keep the videos coming and the riding pinned ✊
Great bike check, very detailed. The Lyrik looks awesome in your slowmos, working a lot but the bike's really setled. Tempted to splash for one myself.😅
Very particular setting on the rear shock… from the “low” psi for the rider weight, but most for the rebound…seems a lot slow, like easy to pack down on fast rocky section…. Very interesting
Amazing vid once again ! Thank you so much for taking your precious time to share great "behind the scene" content ! Why not one day (maybe "off season") an interview of yourself with the questions you would like to have been asked but no one asked you so far ? And why not a TP interview ? Technically we see him as often as you >__
Grate video Charles! What length of cranks are you using with that geometry setup? Is any better the high position on de flip switch with the slack head tube angle?
Have had a stumpy evo. Now have enduro. My home mtn is super, super rough and the enduro is definitely better there, but it is a handful on tight trails. Interesting that they are racing more of the slow, tight stuff
Yea the euro trails seem to be pretty tight. So hard to know the trade-offs during a race. At some point you just have to choose a bike that feels comfortable and commit to it!
Haven’t tried the link or the 170mm fork but super happy with the current setup! Trying to keep it a bit more responsive and steep head angle for the tight stuff
how do you like the cannibals? recently swapped to from gravity t9 butchers and have been enjoying the upgrade. they seem to run at a much lower psi than I was running the butchers. I'm 195lb, on a transition spire with cushcore front and rear. was running 25 in the butchers but they cannibal seems to like it more around 18-20psi, which to me is really low. the sidewall feels way more stout than the butchers though. tons more grip. the cannibal seems to really like being rode super aggressive
Also, impressive fork pressure at around 82 kilos, considering how progressive the new Debonair+ is in the new Lyrik. Also, for the skeptics and haters, if you go by the Sram release data for both the 2020 Zeb and 2023 Lyrik, the new Lyrik is only 1% LESS torsionally rigid than the current Zeb!
@@mrsmith376 Good question, haven’t checked but normally within ab 10mm they are all good with and the bike handles fine and hasn’t shown any sign of stress
Not sure how you're not bottoming the hell out of the Super Deluxe with your suspension settings. I have the Cascade link and 1 spacer in the linear can. At 28% sag I bottom it a ton and I'm not at EWS speeds.
Also, that fork pressure is insanely high. Rebound on fork looks very fast due to that pressure and rear shock rebound extremely slow for that pressure. Very interesting.
Very good points. Love me set-up at the moment but TP and I are going to get the motion IQ system out later in the year so that will give us some more info
Hey Chaz! I'm in the market for a Stumpy evo, same height as you (182), however am considering an s3 size frame. Have you tried an s3 and if so how did it feel? Cheers mate and nice work this season!
Hey! Yes I actually was riding on the S3 for a year before going onto the S4. It still worked well for me but it was super playful and maybe not quite stable enough for Enduro World Cup racing. I loved riding it but never raced it. Depends if you're riding for fun and like smaller playful bikes or you want something a bit longer and more stable. Thanks for the props too!
Hi! Im bought a stump evo s-works a few months ago. I have some headset problems. Just wondering if you’re running with the original fsa or are you running something else? I have to tighten them every ride basically.. Best regards, Hampus
Yeah I’m running a 170 fork also and the low setting still feels really low when rocks are around, slack setting up top and high rear seems the sweet spot, chain stays still quite long even in the short setting. Looks like Kevin his teammate is running the short chain stay setting.

Love the support! Thanks man
Stumpy EVO?! Well sheeit that was a pleasant surprise! So good!
I also wasn’t expecting it but happy with how the Stevo went this season
Stumps are legendary for a reason
same here my stumpy evo is an all rounder bike and it can handle anything from jumps to super techy climbs/ dh..👍
I agree it's the perfect quiver killer

Thanks! Will do!
Thanks! Will do!
Would love to see you do a comparison between an S4 Stevo and S3 Enduro
Stoked on the videos, it’s cool see a high level rider share some behind the scenes of professional enduro racing!
Thanks man!
Thanks you 👍
No problem 👍
Great vid, just got a Stumpy Evo LTD, love it! Good luck this weekend!
Thanks!
Great bike check, very detailed. The Lyrik looks awesome in your slowmos, working a lot but the bike's really setled. Tempted to splash for one myself.😅
I'm enjoying the Lyric for sure!
The best all round rig. Have owned one and they are a sick as hell bike. Do everything well with little travel 🔨
They are so capable eh!
Very particular setting on the rear shock… from the “low” psi for the rider weight, but most for the rebound…seems a lot slow, like easy to pack down on fast rocky section…. Very interesting
Been waiting for this!🤘
cheers my g!

Glad you enjoyed and great ideas. Will have to get some of these up and rolling after the race season.
Grate video Charles! What length of cranks are you using with that geometry setup? Is any better the high position on de flip switch with the slack head tube angle?
170mm Cranks! I like the middle headset position because then I've got more weight on my front wheel!
When is the new Evo coming out? Has to be soon since it's been spotted out in the wild.

Wonder how the Stevo would run with Cascade link + 170mm fork!? That's what I'm setting my up as very soon..

I’m such a big fan of the cannibals! Been loving racing on them the last years :)
I've never seen a tidier toolbox, what's the chance of TP doing a toolbox check 🤞
Good idea! I'll get him to do one sometime soon
Quiver killer
Too right eh

That's super interesting about the torsional stiffness I hadn't looked into it.
I run a 170mm fork on my stumpy evo and it is so much faster than the 160… I rate it
Curious to know if a 170 fork is approved from Spec?!
@@mrsmith376 Good question, haven’t checked but normally within ab 10mm they are all good with and the bike handles fine and hasn’t shown any sign of stress
Yea Kev is running a 170mm Zeb and im on the 160mm Lyric. Both are good options
Cool bike check. Curious if your fork damper has a custom tune or is it stock and also how much do you weigh in your riding gear?
Stock damper. In riding gear I'm probably 82kg

yo can we get a toolbox check on the mechanic
Absolutely planning that!
Great video. So you are now racing the EWS on stumpy EVO instead of Enduro? Can i ask why?
Yep, sure am, the Stumpy Evo is perfect for the tighter race trails in europe.
Great video! Love the stage runs too. Congrats on a great rsult last round! What angle do run your brake levers?
Not sure of the exact angle but they are pretty flat! thanks mate
Charles, if you were running the Zeb 170, what would your settings be?
65 PSI 3 tokens Rebound 10 click from open. Compression usually middle setting
I’m curious, do you use tire inserts?
Yep! at the moment I'm just using a rear insert but in the past I've used a front too.
@@Chazmaztv thank you!
Running a Cascade Link or stock?
Stock Link

Charles metallic or organic pads? Nice video!!
Metal!
I think my EVO BB is too low even with a 170 fork and short chain stay with 170mm cranks. What length cranks are you running?
Yeah I’m running a 170 fork also and the low setting still feels really low when rocks are around, slack setting up top and high rear seems the sweet spot, chain stays still quite long even in the short setting. Looks like Kevin his teammate is running the short chain stay setting.
Yep it's pretty low but I like the stability. Remember my front and rear sag is less than recommended so the whole bike is probably sitting higher
I'm on 170mm Cranks
When do you replace your tyres? On race day? On practice day so the tyres are "warm" for race day or only when they need replacing
Usually we run new tyres for race day! Practice tyres only get replaced when they are tired
Hey, which sag do you run in the fork an shock ?
Hey, we don’t measure the fork but shock usually around 27%
Loks like no cascade links here....
full stock frame!
How much does the stumpy weigh? Vs the enduro?
I think it's about 16kg without any tools in the swat. The enduro is probably 17kg but this is with full race set up. Like very heavy tyres and things
