- A community is mourning after a high-speed crash killed a beloved mother and grandmother in the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday.

@@beerussama7093 I know what you're saying. Having electric bikes makes people drive like motorcycles in traffic and I see that as being unsafe. I've been hit by a car twice. The second time the car lost.

Or people walking. Pedestrians are being killed on a regular basis too.

Looking at the violence of this crash, is very telling. If the driver hadn't died, I wonder what his defense lawyer would try to come up with?! Like the defense attorney for that traveling nurse, that drove her Mercedes sedan at a high rate of speed and killed SIX people. One, an infant. One his mother who was six months pregnant. Five of whom, burned to death.
Her defense attorney is really straining credibility to take the stink off her culpability from what a horrible thing she did.
Why drivers get such expensive, powerful property...then treat them like toys, I cannot comprehend.
The risk to lives, and important property goes without saying.
But the lack of respect for any of it, deserves the ultimate penalty when someone is SO reckless!!

So true, how reckless drivers are able to get such good defense lawyers is beyond me. While many decent people can’t even get a fair lawyer who will actually get them the compensation for whats been lost or taken from them in a theft or auto accident.
I am a retired police officer, LAPD. Blame the LA City Council. They deployed all Valley Motor Office to other parts of the city. Patrol cars are handling a huge amount of calls. When while driving west of the 405 have you seen any motor vehicle drivers being cited? You have not and people driving reckless know they will not be cited. Call your council representative. The sweet while gets the grease.
I worked in the LAPD Photo Unit. I attended and lost count of how many fatal crashes with horrific injuries.
I remember being at one, on Sepulveda along the 405, about 1:30 am. I think the cross street was Montana.
A firefighter there said "There isn't a safety device, instructions or preventive measures the STUPID won't completely defy!"

It's ridiculous the way some motorists have no consideration for their fellow man. Speeding, not signaling, passing when it's totally unnecessary, and as in this case, running red lights (and stop signs). I see it almost every day. People don't care about anyone but themselves.

@Hi Hello a fine example of a R selected trait is an indiscriminate need to procreate no matter the circumstance. This, in combination with birthing their own kind for financial stability (anchor baby's) is creating a latino population that can not be supported here in the states & especially CA. This is one of the reasons why the value of life is greatly diminished & discounted amongst latino's. Pretty much every Latin American country is inundated with poverty & violence because they can not provide long term care for themselves & a natural propensity to exhibit barbarousness.

Gotta watch out for these crazy drivers, here in So Cal. A driver hit my car as I was waiting for cross traffic, totaling my car, leaving me without a car.

i was going home from work one day 4 lane center turn, i was in my pick up when a woman in an SUV cut the center car off she went air born, if i had been going 10mph faster i probably wouldn't be here, that SUV airborne passed in front of me causing me to slam on the breaks through the other lane and into a crowed parking lot no one was hurt or killed, however i have the privilege of meeting one of Charleson WV finest officers, for a brief time a week later she was murdered by a cold blooded dealer during a traffic stop! sad these people do this not considering another persons life

I see a lot of people running red lights. This is not uncommon. I'm so sick of these stupid careless drivers! We need stricter laws! If you have a lot of DUIs on your records, then you need to be charged with murder!!! Because you already knew that driving drunk will lead to accident! No more excuses!!!
