This is extremely helpful. I am a blind guitar player and I really appreciate when you give the string and fret number instead of saying “this finger goes here and this finger goes there“.Thank you for that.
i salute you fellow blindman, i am half blind "only" and i cant describe how i respect you, stay safe!
how did you type this comment?
@@abyansyafi1815 dude, are you really this ignorant? today you can type comments and operate various OS including reading via voice and other tools, plus youi can zoom everything to 500% so if someone is partially blind (my case) you can still slowly read anything
@@BeowulfGaming cool, sorry if i offended you, ill try to be more informed
@@abyansyafi1815 no harm done bro, i was kind of defending the original comment not myself :D i feel like you implied that he was lying and i dont see a reason why he should, having bad luck in life made me respect and appreciate anyone with any disability, thats all :)
καλη συνεχεια. i am from Greece.
Thanks so much for the kind words, (had to use Google Translate to read your post!). Thanks Again!!
Your teaching style is exactly what my ear/brain combination was designed to understand.
Clear. Concise. Straightforward everyman English.
Brother I find you to be a great teacher. Good for beginners like me
you are the best teacher keep it up good work
Thank you for the lessons. It really helps
I like this guy. Solid. Honest. Takes you through your paces.
One of the most useful video tutorials I have accessed on UA-cam in a long long time. Thanks a million
What I really admire is that you can fill up every second of the video with words, and so easily find additional words to fill up any gaps. It's like not watching a video about music at all. Brilliant.
Thank you for teaching us new ways to enjoy learning on the guitar
Best teacher every.... Thank You
My friend good stuff thank you
Yes sir you are a great guitar player and not only a player but a teacher. What i'm asking from you, teacher us, me a song are two on the bar with four are five chords i would be delighted, from Jamaica 🇯🇲 thank you.
Hello Andrew. this video and some of your others like it really turned the light on for me. I been doing like 2-3 different teachers and ran across you about 3 months ago. The way you explained it really made the Especially learning scales vertical. Relative minor, major, triad they are likely making sense after this one video. Thank you very much as I was getting frustrated and this parted the heavens!!!
Great lesson on Master Scales & Melody for a new beginner like myself and the website will help me with my keyboarding as well . You have gave me a new way to practice as i learn. Thanks for the Lessons.
Wow! Possibility my best lesson. I have not tried mixing major and minor pentatonic scales. It really makes sense, now. Thanks.
You my friend .. are godsend ! Thank you for your vids !
Been playing for 25 years and it took a 16 minute video to open up a new world to me. Thanks man. Great stuff
You have nicely explained how to understand the importance of melody, it was boggling to make nice sounding riffs, but now I clearly see the wisdom of following the chords, thank you!
@creativeguitarstudio Have you just given us sections, or pockets, of pentatonic for each chord where they overlap? I notice, for instance, your A minor pentatonic steps out of the fifth position pentatonic to the note of E at the 9th fret of the G. What is the theory here? Thank you.
My god dude... this is the first time that i actually understand how pentatonics works
funny something finally just clicked for me too. it all seems to make sense now. wish i realized this 25 years ago lmaoi
This is incredible, the video i watched on him before this just made me figure things out when i listen to a song, i play solos and blues in scales and love it but never understood how to maybe try dwell some more and not just hit the note the song is in and play lead, or just stop altogether, lol. Best teacher i have found on you tube in 5 years.
These videos are so good, thank you.
You are always an excellent teacher.
25 years of teaching guitar and it shows! You made this lesson so smooth and understandable that even a slow learner like myself learned it fast! Subscribed sir! Thanks
best video yet buddy. thank you. time to practice lo
Very helpful. I like the idea of using a similarly shaped pattern with only minor differences to solo over changes. I've applied this to a ii-V-I progression, and am finding it extremely helpful.
Great class, finally i understood! Love it!
So glad I found this tutorial, it is fantastic. This has really helped me understand how to create a melody. Thank you :-)
Thank you very much I was thinking about a looper pedal, but this will do fine for now .
Yup loo ft
Yet another great lesson.
🇨🇦 love the T shirt
Really like the idea of looping the chords and then practicing over them.
Im a beginner and new to this site. How excellent you present your subject matter.
Will endeavor to apply and continue watching. Thank you.
Thanks a ton Creativeguitarstudio. Love from India
Thank you may you be blessed
THANK YOU SIR,FOR A WONDERFUL AND ENLIGHTING VIDEO..I ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW HOW HOW SUCH BEAUTIFUL MELODIES ARE CREATED....VERY INTERESTING....I LOVE IT
I really appreciate you. You have given me much for my guitar play. Thanks
That is so helpful .. your advice filled a gap in my knowledge of "exercises I can do to learn scaling on a looped back track of chord progression".. Thank you and please keep the valuable advice coming.
I just learned how to play D’Angelo's Unshaken (the song from Red Dead Redemption 2) with this lesson given that those are the only two chords he uses throughout almost the entire song. Thank you so much for the lesson as well.
can i hear it?
love the cbc radio tshirt Andrew great lesson thanks ,
This is a really good and more importantly, helpful video. Thanks 👍🏼 😎 🎸
Thank you Master Wasson
Great and so clear. Thanks
Andrew that was very cool. ChordChord was the icing on the cake. Thanks Bruh!
Thanks for the info on chord chord.
This was super Thank you..especially for the added bit at the end
Andrew subscribing to your channel has been a Funtastic Wonderful Learning Creative adventure!
I don't have a guitar yet! I haven't found the acoustic guitar that fits me yet but I do have a Baritone Ukulele and this exercise works perfectly on my Baritone Ukulele. I even added an E7 chord and added some major scales and blues riffs and phrases into this Juicy Mix! I also love your DADGAD videos too! Thank you for sharing your Wonderful Wisdom and Musical knowledge with Us! I'm sooooo excited! My cup runneth over with JuicyJuicy Joy! I've shared this video with my Baritone ukulele teacher and 2 classmates! 2020 is the year I find the perfect acoustic guitar or it finds me! I'm a Believer!
Bloody Blooming Brilliant Video. Thank you Sir. You have lifted the "veil" somewhat on playing over chords. Being a learner for 20 some year"s, ( Yes you read that correct) and still none the wiser !!! You have in you video allowed me to blow away the mist of confusion that baffles, and bewilders me to a degree that an "air" of mutual stubbornish exists between me, and that dammed Guitar I have the unfortunate ambition of learning it's secrets
Hi Andrew ,amazing vid thank you so much ,iv just tryd out now :)
This is great vid. I gonna rewatch it a few more times. 👌
My friend , love to try this lesson for the first time, I am thrilled! Thx.
Wow. this is the most simple and comprehensive lesson that I have seen about solo improvisation and melody. thanks a ltot finally got a clear idea how it works. thanks for sharing your knowladge.
Roberto Alvarado Yesssss indeed! Melody is King!
Love your videos Andrew, so helpful
In my opinion, this man is the best guitar instructor on UA-cam.
great explanation of what you was doing. thanks, very helpful.
Travis Tidwell you should check out Steve Stine.
FireflyJack , thanks for the reference. will definitely do that. thanks.
Love your approach...
I just got a guitar, and you have been amazingly helpful. Thank you.
I have a question which i thought would be best asked by
first laying out the notes/scale/chords involved so there's
a visual aid to what i'm saying.
A Minor Scale notes:
A, B, C, D, E, F, & G
A Minor Pentatonic scale notes:
A, C, D, E, & G
chord progression in the key of A minor:
Am - F - G
notes in A Minor chord:
A, C & E
notes in F Major chord:
F, A & C
notes in G Major chord:
G, B & D
My question is if i wanted to create a song in the key of
A Minor and the song will be using the chord progession as
shown above (Am, F, G chords) then i should be using the 'A
Minor scale' for creating solos. This works well as it contains
all of the notes from all three chords being used in the song.
I'm confused over the pentatonic scale though. I assumed i
should be using the 'A Minor Pentatonic scale' to create solos
regardless of what chords are being played from the three i'm
using in this song.
I see that the F Major chord's root note isn't in the A Minor
Pentatonic scale and the G Major chord's B note isn't in the
A Minor Pentatonic scale.
Does this mean the A Minor Pentatonic shouldn't be used in solo
creation in this song if the F Major/G Major chords are playing?
Man I gotta say I appreciate what you did with this video.. Thank you for sharing! Really great content I can already hear myself playing with much more melody in these scales.
wow! I love your tutorial's video.. Tq Mr. Bean

Very helpful as a beginner! Thank you
Excellent.Thank you.
Thanks alot. Keep it up. It's helpful even though it still far beyond my level. I'm just an amateur beginner! Just seeing you breaking down into small figures what I was thinking was only for highly advanced guitar players gives me hope.
Great simple clear instructions! Thanks
Very nice video.
Very good
Thanks excellent video that helps in many ways. Thanks again. Mike

Very helpful . . . Thank you
Thank you Andrew. Very much.
Great Lesson on Soloing its it makes it much easier to understand, Ty..
Great lesson Andrew ...Thanks
This is just great. Never heard myself playing in a melodic way better than this thanks to this class. Now I have an important question: what if I want to add E major and what would the shape be ?. Thanks
Same as the Fmaj moved one step back, i.e. played starting at the 2nd fret instead of 3rd as there is no E#, a common chord to play after the Fmaj would be Cmaj
Am, G, F,C a lot of songs use those chords in that or a different order, most commonly C, Am, F, G
Hello Andrew, I just found your site this morning and I love it. it's just what I need, thank you. BTW I subscribed and I'm delighted!
This was a very informative lesson. I think I’ll be checking out that Chord progression site as this would be great for building up my lead skills 👍🏻
You’re a great teacher. I think it would be helpful to include what strings you are picking down and up.
great stuff. many thanks
For that Am pentatonic scale, you start on a G, is the reason for that just convenience? I thought that the first note should be A which I would call the root note, but if it is G then G is the root note, and does that not change the type of pentatonic scale you are using? My thinking is coming from modes, as in depending on which note that you start on in a scale, will determine the mode.
Thank you for your help...
Andrew this video was very helpful Thx.
Thank you so much !! 👍👍
Please keep adding to this ... so that we can benefit more ... excellent and very good for beginners to play some simple melodies over a chord progression!!! Thanks !!
this is awsome stuff. do you cover other cords in a lesson?
Great teacher. Thank you.
Mate, I just love you, and thank you for everything, each video says do this everyday, and starts with this will be very helpful ;-) and it's true !!!
