Replaced hundreds of those mounts. There is a body plug under the carpet to get to the top nut. We stick a propane torch in the hole to heat the threads to loosen the Loctite. Do the rear mounts first with the fronts loosened to keep everything aligned.

On the sport tracs you take the bolt out from bottom and thread it thru top then hammer it and it separates the two pieces.

@9:47, you placed the shim from YOUR mount onto the chineesium Ford mount! Also, free advice from the real libereral-ville rust-belt state (Maine) - I generally use a flexi-tube of PB blaster to get some oil on the cab-mount nuts on top BEFORE I start, AND I generally stick a prybar under the large washer at the bottom to help keep the bolt seated in the nut-retainer (or what's left of it) and pry it down while hitting it with the impact wrench - gently at first to let the vibration work the oil into the threads, then after a while I give it the beans. When that fails I cut to bolt head.

A lot of it comes down to trying to be politically correct and often failing at it, also trying to be bleeding heart liberals and failing at it too.
I do not take any of that BS myself, nor conspiracy theories. I'm also not normally brained so see things differently than the norm.
BTW, I'm of similar age (60) so understand many of the older ways.

@ In some ways, I am the same way, though I live and grew up out on the west coast (western Washington) where at times we lean too liberal for our own good, so see things from that perspective and what we have now is a glut of the homeless as a result, California, Oregon and Washington are glutted with them at the moment, and agree, a lot of it stems from social media.
I see normal folks being too readily accepting of things at face value without critical thinking of the whys, the where's and the hows.

I've heard that those cab mount bolts can be a bear at times when the captured nut spins. You lucked out pretty good only having a couple that gave you grief. Of course those northern guys probably have much harder times with them. And when they have to pull the cab off to service the engine, what do they do. I guess they've done enough that they have it down pat. Thanks for taking us along on this job.

When you’re removing those kind of fasteners spray with penetrating fluid first inside on the captured nut then carefully tighten fastener a tiny amount to break the threads loose then carefully back out and retighten again if threads jam up until hopefully it’s free. More lube during the process too.

Thanks Ray!! I know exactly what you are talking about, with certain individuals not able to cope with reality. I used to keep a bag of seeds in my pocket, with the words written "Sense of Humor, Grow One." and hand those out to folks that have too much time on their hands to complain about every little thing.
Also.. this video really interested me, I have an old 2001 Chevy Silver-AY-doh, that I try to replace the old parts BEFORE they break, so I will do an inspection and see if I may need a set of cab mounts on it. Also, I hear people complain about Dorman products sometimes and I use them because they are well priced. Years ago, I could've spend a bit over $500 bucks on a new ABS Control Module, but spent a little less than $300 bucks on a Dorman. well.. for the age of my truck, the $300 Dorman has already out-lasted the OEM.
So, YAY to you and all the entertainment you bring us... If some few folks get offended and look for things so their "Feelz" hurt... they need to realize that the content YOU bring to us, is more "Tame" in comparison to other channels with similar content. So, they need to just quit crying and LOOKING for things to complain about and just enjoy the content. If they cant, the problem is with THEM, and not you.

    Hey Ray,
If you get a good concrete contractor they can use some admixtures to accelerate the cure time and maybe take some time off of that 30 day wait time. They would likely want to take samples to break test strength to make sure that the concrete is up to strength. The mix will be more expensive, and testing the samples will add cost, and depending on if they are using expansion anchors cure time can be more important than strength. But since time is money it is worth asking about. Maybe limit it to small cars for the first bit. Especially if it is a 4 post lift the post don't really see any moment so the anchors are less important. At least from my understanding of the 4 post lifts that I have done anchorage for.

GM is building SUVs and Small cars in China and badging them as GM. Toyota uses parts made all over the world as well as having plants all over the world. It use to be Chineseum, now its just world market. One gets what one specified to the manufacturer, Cheap for large markups or quality for durability. Ray, you need to get a welder with gas. The little wire feed welders are ok for exhaust work, and thin metal, you need a welder with gas, especially for broken bolt removal

A liberal coating of that purple brake Lube you used to use would work great on those new mounts and isolate them from further deterioration of where rust has already begun

You don't have much to laugh about, lots of changes, lots of people are losing their jobs. And I only get the news that is offered. Here too, there are media that try to influence opinions. That's why it's all the nicer to enjoy unfiltered humor. So Ray, keep it up. And to the rest of you: I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart.

I always spray silikroil into the holes the night before ! You do not want the inner weld nuts to break loose It will turn an easy job into a nightmare ! I also did a few aluminum body F- series trucks almost every weld nut broke loose - the weld nuts are also aluminum ! Its a pain !

I was one of the guys that suggested you could weld without the cup. In this case I can offer a couple other suggestions, I would have put some anti spatter or grease on the threads to protect them, it would have also helped to use less wire in that small space. I watch your content every day and on weekends with Sam.

I either have the same or similar 1/2" impact. Got it in a set I bought, not realizing it wasn't fuel, and 3/4 of the tools were brushed. I kept it though, because other than taking a second to wind down after use, it's a great impact!

When the welded nut gets like that what I do is make a small hol under and near the nut put a bolt on the nut center it u should see the nut from the hole you made and weld it from the hole 🕳️ it works very well

I do those cab mount all the time, heat is your friend!! You have to heat the bolts so all the lock tight the factory puts one them, with out heat it's a 50/50 shot that the nut will break loose from it's holder
