I would like to see her shield at 300 again, sure it’s a big health pool but it still takes full damage wherever it gets hit and it feels like it only lasts 0.5 seconds.
It's funny how much you talk about how effective Brig's rework was cuz like... honestly it wasn't that drastic of a rework. She didn't get any new abilities or any abilities removed, her existing abilities just got some numbers or the exact way they worked tweaked. It was the game around her that really changed. Brig is just kind of emblematic of Blizzard's issues with game balance. Dive was inescapable for a very long time, and instead of tackling thse characters directly or maybe giving other characters some defence against it, they stuck ALL the anti-dive on one character and then took a year to make meaningful changes.
Which is rather interesting because you see something that resembles quite the opposite with ow2s balance direction and (despite rising player count) many players deem 2 to be the worse off one in this regard. 2 has had a break neck by comparison speed of reworks and meta shifts. Seasons have been so drastically different that it's not even comparable. In that sense, I think it's fair to say the rework was effective. It greatly shifted the power budget of brig in accordance with how the new game is played, all without completely removing her identity. Not all changes should be large scale updates like bastion, doom, or sombra.
Big thing that made old brig so messed up was a glitch with her rally armor where each 'chunk' of armor would apply damage resistance separately. Meaning if you had a bunch of rally armor on you it would also give you way more damage resistance than was intended. Not super well know but a very important factor in her dominance
I just feel like brig right now is too comp dependant, you can’t play too aggressive since you’ll get deleted unless your tank is taking all the aggro but your heals are so slow it won’t save them. So you end up playing a bit more passive, but all you’re doing is poking them with flail every 5s because you lack range. She only really shines if the enemy team is rushing or diving in so you can actually get into melee range without exploding in 2s or small skirmishes where you can out heal the chip damage while dealing some of your own I want to play Brig more because she can be fun and is really effective in the right scenarios but my games never have the right opportunity for her to shine
you could say brig has never felt so miserable (when the moons reaching out stars lyrics reference) but fr I love brig, definitely my main in the support category lol
Worth mentioning that Joats wasn't even really an OW2 composition - it was played in the OWL over the summer 2022, as the league was playing a pre-launch version of OW2. Queen got nerfed (+ joats ended) in September, about a month before OW2 actually released. Provokes weird questions about what defines 'meta' if the pros are literally playing a different game. Anyway, for most players, Goats is the only time Brig has been a hard meta pick.
The only thing that annoys me about Brig, is the fact that she is one of the few characters that hasn't got a single one highlight intro in Ow2 while Ashe got 6. But whatever, i thing she's fine now.
Lucio does require a lot more work to protect his team though, unlike Brig. Really have to watch the enemy and guide your ally to the safe spot. Brig just slaps a repair pack and starts trying to beat them up. At lower levels, she can still do work.
She also has to put more effort into l fighting them and most of the time she doesn’t even kill them they either kill her or they just leave. Unlike most supports, she doesn’t get to bs her way out, she has to actually fight. She’s niche, and she’s not even the best at her niche
As a Lucio main, I do feel that I can play that peel style very effectively and do most of the things Brig does while still being very mobile and having the agency to be proactive. It's very rare that I will switch to Brig unless the enemy is running a Winston or double flank DPS.

As a Brig main, I’d say Brig now is fine where she is. It does such that Brig isn’t that great because Lucio is meta but, if we keep buffing her more that what she has now, she’ll dominate just from over buffing her kit
Good video. I climbed to Diamond with Brig when released, same with Moira. Good easier times. Maybe a GOATs video down the line would be good? You’re the documentary guy!

I love Brig, her and Sombra are pretty much the only reason I play ow. But NGL, I'm not a fan of where Brig is currently. Against decent opponents, FAR too often the best strategy is to just play health pack dispenser for your DPS while afking next your Ana waiting for the enemies to do something. She is the least interactive and proactive she has EVER been, and many recent changes such as winstons passive, the entirety of Venture, and the MASSIVE boop nerf make her significantly worse at the few things she is supposed to excel at.
Considering there is so much CC in the game already, I don't see why Brig gets most of the flack for her stun. Especially since they said they were moving away from the CCWatch model, why is hers a problem but Cassidy potentially is getting Stun Nade back?
Because tracer mains can’t handle having a consistent hard counter. Brig has to be on ground, up close, and have her shield up, but sombra being able to cancel ultimates from range with auto lock is completely fair

She’s a little finicky to play, but I promise you she’s not that squishy and she can definitely put the work in. It’s all about picking the right moment to attack. She’s really easy to punish if you don’t understand how to play around cover or who has the right of way in a fight.

Brigs rework for 2-2-2 was a massive mistake. It just made her an issue all over again in the new format. She was meta *a lot* and was one of the primary reasons comps like Double Shield worked which was absolutely miserable. She was *still* heavily complained about during this whole time and everybody still hated her. I main Brig, she was still absolutely ridiculous.

@Xneocake if you want learn brig look up holyshiftkid. Hes the GOAT (pun intended) at coaching/ teaching brig. A lot of what makes a good brig is your positioning, and pack management. Best of luck - a masters brig one trick
3:17 Ah yes, the gameplay seems like Brig, but the profile pic is Cass. Small indie company strikes again. Also: "Bullying Doom is my favorite pastime." MY MAN. What MaceToTheFace said about not nerfing the meta leading to overbuffed counter heroes is what I think led to Brig's (and probably Moira's) initial design in the first place. The devs, in all their brilliant balancing decisions, gave the supports a character to counter dive instead of nerfing the dive heroes. I never minded playing vs dive when playing tank, but supporting could get real crazy real quick. Those first few months of forcing Genji/Tracers onto Junk to try and counter me were so cathartic. I'm starting to feel that way again with the two guaranteed stuns on her ult. Now adding Sombras to the 'getting-dunked-on' list. :D
I use to be a Rein main. Then Brig came out. After that I basically never touched him again. The bash through shield literally sucked the fun out of the character for me that much. Even when it was removed I didn't go back because I didn't trust the devs to not ruin Rein again with a different character release.
I feel like we overestimate how much goats was a result of brig. Sure she was a constant but there was another constant we don’t talk about enough and that’s Lucio. I really don’t know how goats works without a Lucio he’s the main reason they are able to close the distance as a massive group.
The thing is, she's the one that enabled goats. Lucio was definitely a core part of goats comp, but Brigitte was the one that allowed goats to even come into existence in the first place, or at least gave people the idea of the comp.
Brig was the straw that broke the camel's back but a Goats style meta was probably always going to develop because of the way characters were and still are designed in OW. Tanks doing nearly as much damage as DPS while having more than double the health makes them very fun to play but it also means that if you stack a couple tanks with a few AOE healers and a speed boost you get an unstoppable death ball that could only be met with the same force or with a team comp so split up that the death ball has no one to target. In my opinion, Goats was an inevitable problem that the devs were going to need to address at one point or another and Brig just happened to be the one that showed that problem off.
@@Julton I mean right before brigs release there was quad tank Moira Lucio. And way before that it was Ana Lucio quad tank when nade was overturned. Speed boost is just one of the abilities that gets multiplicatively stronger the more people can be in it because it allows pressure cycles to come quicker for lots of characters. Tbh there wasn’t much brig added besides just being a tank at the time that healed. If brig wasn’t so tanky herself she would’ve likely been replaced by moira as her aoe heals are stronger. Brig was just easy value cause you didn’t have to even swap to heal you just held the frontline and swung and on top of that goats didn’t even need high healing cause it was just a ton of mitigation abilities stacked on top of each other. By the time people were low your zen built his trance already and they were full health again.
@@borutoburrito6547 I agree except that brig didn’t exactly enable these comps into the meta. They had been meta well before her release. Brig was just an extra tank that healed which is why she fit in so well. Everyone always says imagine running goats without brig but without a Lucio that comp is nowhere near as deadly.
Day 11 of asking for an Irish Review of Risk of Rain 2/Returns (I don't have any strong opinions on Brig, though I will say it's funny whenever a Brig tries to 1v1 me when I'm Ram, always makes them switch when they do it a second time, also did not know about the 1 frame shield thing that's weird)
brigitte was awsome when she was relased, the trick was just going far away from her to not die, is not a coincidence the game started to be trash when she got hard nerfed, this game will never be balanced, so focus on the fun factor, and in ow2 she got more and more uselss, wich by no coincidence the game is more trash
Honestly whenever brig is meta is kind of miserable to play against like back in season 5 in believe she got a shield buff and she was played with most of the support cast and I was miserable cause you couldn’t kill her or the other support she was protecting, and the pair brig Ana was so dam frustrating you literally couldn’t kill anything because the amount of heals they were putting, I rather played against Lucio, kiriko meta any day they are fun to play and play against
My biggest problem with brig in her current state is how unintuitive she is to play and play with. This is a big issue plaguing support in general, but teammates don’t know when she’s healing them either via health pack or with her passive. This makes it hard for new Brig players to feel like they’re contributing to a team. Her value lies in being able to deny enemy with her shift, but that’s not terribly intuitive the way javelin or sleep dart are obviously denial tools. I think the nature of her passive healing is also frustrating to new players who often don’t even know it exists.
No limits in overwatch 1 the hour after Brig dropped was a nightmare. Six Brigs could make anyone cry
Suddenly Six Flags isn’t so fun anymore

Everyone always says imagine running goats without brig but without a Lucio that comp is nowhere near as deadly.
another genuis point by goyza!! honestly brig can do no wrong, you’re very smart and know a lot about overwatch. i’ll give you kiss for that :))
"During the Overwatch 2 beta..."

LIVE AS THIS VIDEO GOES LIVE www.twitch.tv/pixelrory
I been praying on brigs downfall since day 1.
Nice... Uh... Chiasmus.... I think
brigitte was awsome when she was relased, the trick was just going far away from her to not die, is not a coincidence the game started to be trash when she got hard nerfed, this game will never be balanced, so focus on the fun factor, and in ow2 she got more and more uselss, wich by no coincidence the game is more trash
I’ve got 400 hours on brig lol
the proper pronunciation is what you said at the start exept with a rolled r
PLEASE DONT NERF LUCIO HES SO FUN
8:44 I think Torb is her grandfather. Great video btw💛
nope torb is brigs father and Reinhardt is her god father💛
Shield hp nerf unnecessary;-; gib back 500hp shiled pls it always gets 1 shot down
BOOM pregnant
I. Hate. Goats.
Love the vid Day 4 ❤
I hate to say that brig is the clear downfall of OW1
Sure lol
Honestly whenever brig is meta is kind of miserable to play against like back in season 5 in believe she got a shield buff and she was played with most of the support cast and I was miserable cause you couldn’t kill her or the other support she was protecting, and the pair brig Ana was so dam frustrating you literally couldn’t kill anything because the amount of heals they were putting, I rather played against Lucio, kiriko meta any day they are fun to play and play against
W vid
My dream has come true
My love
Brigitte is a support, but come on... everyone just calls her a tank.
Not your best video title bro

What a funny and original joke. Did you think of it yourself?
My biggest problem with brig in her current state is how unintuitive she is to play and play with. This is a big issue plaguing support in general, but teammates don’t know when she’s healing them either via health pack or with her passive. This makes it hard for new Brig players to feel like they’re contributing to a team. Her value lies in being able to deny enemy with her shift, but that’s not terribly intuitive the way javelin or sleep dart are obviously denial tools. I think the nature of her passive healing is also frustrating to new players who often don’t even know it exists.
