Hey mate, easiest way to get the drum off is to leave the tyre/wheel on the bike, but remove the dust shield and castle nut, then just hit the back side of the tyre with a rubber mallet or hammer and the whole lot will come off fairly easily. Then unbolt the wheel from the drum and continue doing what you need to.
