I held out against 7 Hunnic hordes in the Visigoth campaign I had an army of 17 units and the Huns had 5 armies that had 20 units and 1 with 14 units and 1 with 18. The battle took place at adrianople. That was the most epic and destructive battle that I had ever fought in the entire of the total war series. The only reason why I was capable of holding out was that they only attacked from 2 sides. 6 of their armies attacked one gate while the seventh attacked the other. Although they used Rams to breach my gate (3 of their Rams were destroyed before reaching the gate) but my pikemen and bowmen held on and defended the gap. The battle scene was like 300 movie. They were entrapped and forced to fight my forces at the gap but they couldn't even demoralize them. Their second army got wiped out by my swordsmen before they could even try to breach the second gate. They weather was rain and time was night. I kept fighting them until I was lucky to hit 2 of their generals in a flaming catapult shot. Their entire force was routed and defeated in 43 minutes. I lost only 8 units. About half of my troops. They lost entire 4 armies with the other 3 remaining having only 7 units.
***** Good stuff. Especially spreading the word about the great mods there are as if more people looked to mods instead of buying poor value DLC then CA would need to make any DLC more value for money. Keep up the good work.
Honestly I'm not a big fan of those mods that just add more randomness to the game (like the seasons mod). Winter has a HUGE effect on your food supply and the attrition is a female dog as well so I think it already does enough, at least in 'vanilla' you know how to prepare against it. Small fixes like displaying range is fine, having access to your lower tier units is too (though not absolutely necessary either imo since in my experience you'll mostly just build your strongest units anyway and at least this system guarantees that you'll be using every type of unit at some point) but really, Attila is excellent as it is. The barricades got fixed in the first or second patch. The emerging Roman factions are Roman rebels, that's why they have the Roman unit rosters... There's plenty of Germanic, Brittanic and Eastern factions (the Sassanids' client states holy crap) to fight out there already, I actually like fighting other Romans once in awhile (though they tend to just build large stacks of spearmen, maybe that would've been something to mod).
Awesome! Thanks for the list! Most of 'em look great! As to the unit tier things, at first i agreed with you, but CA has pointed out that they did this so that you couldn't just rush military techs without focusing on civil to support the upkeep, i definitely agree with that because i hardly researched civil techs in R2.
Yes, I know and I have to say that I prefer the unit-replacement system as well. However I do know that a lot of people prefer the old system and that's why I wanted to point it out here. Thanks as always!
I can't believe CA didn't add any of the ideas from these mods to the base game. 75 civilians max? C'mon CA. Why even have them? Great vid, by the way.
***** great video man,i put those mods in attila data and check in in the mod manager, but mods wont work,do i need to start campaign from beginning to get mods to work?reply if you can
Awesome.. Thanks for the list and I like: Unit range in stats box Diplomatic Options More meaningful seasons Better barricades which mean my next "New game" I will start with them ... All the best to you ..
I would also add reduced campaign movement mods to the list. They increase a Roman survival a lot and make campaign less arcade styled. There are few of them. I use modified Magnar reduced campaign atm - 50% (-25% default). But my favorite is ofc my own reduced movement mod. Why? It also takes weather in to account and works nicely with Dresden's weather mod. Extreme blizzard might ruin your whole campaign plans. But i must say i have not updated my mod to the Celt patch.
i actually like the units evolving but i also wish that i could recruit te weaker version so i hope the last mod still gives us the choice to evolve unit since it is nice to have veteran units just evolve than making them start from zero rank without bonus ranks from generals
i can't bloody find a link to download the low cost units, could you chuck me the link cause i've gone T"W center, total war blah blah and blah, i just want the O.G Rome 2 style with the mixture of low and high units and keep ballin into a new campaign on the west side.
The keep low cost units option deters from CA's intention. To make choices to bring your society forward and when to do it. Other than that.. good list.
All mods are supposed to go in the Data folder. You can enable them all in the mod manager. The out of date problem can easily be fixed by ticking the "enable out of date mods" option. Hopefully that helps. :)
***** Thanks for replying so soon. Actually I just solved the situation now and I have worked it out. By the way, your videos are brilliant. I say this because you present them well with good articulation. Also you have this gift for explaining things well and in a very simple and easily understandable form. I don't pay compliments just for the sake of it, but because you really present your videos well. I am from Europe. You have a good accent and It sounds like you are from Eastern Europe? You don't have to tell me where you are from but your English is very good.
Barricades are really useful if you happen to put a unit with good staying power in front of it. Of course it is a sacrificial unit but it works wonderfully
But the barricade itself doesn't add a hell of a lot of extras in my opinion. I'm kind of agree with you but I still like them to have a little bit of extra hitpoints.
***** Sometimes, during my battles, AI enemy spend time to destroy barricades instead of circunvent them.... And no one of my army was there!!! If Barricades are too strong i think that AI will get 'blocked' ... i think it's 'trick' to avoid this...
yeah it seems like they have to make a game that is 90% finished because everyone has different opinions on what needs to be in the last 10%. maybe they should focus on making a better platform for people to implement their 10% changes.
***** It's fairly easy. You put the .pack file in the data folder of your Attila installation. For example: D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Total War Attila\data
Any mod for corruption and faster growth?? Attila burn down half of WRE (I'm playing as ERE) and I wanna rebuild it but the growth is real slow. And corruption is ticking me off. I know my land is big but how am I supposed to advance and prepare myself against the Hunnic Horde if my bank account is too dry.
this game is bassicly all around stats... and knowing them, calculating them...and they hide half of the modifiers invisible? no wonder i could not find out why my cities were fluctuating many atributes in winter and other conditions... like duuuuuuuh....this mod is so cool....anyone know if there is a mod to see where you can buy your units? which state and what units? would be awesome...this is something this game rly is missing...if you dont have general in country you cannot see the units, nor their stats (which is like rly important in planning army)
The game is awesome, but I miss the ancient hoplitates and other elite units from the ancient fractions in Rome 2 ;(. The Sassanid Empire's Elite Immortals are epic tho.
I really want a mod that makes the emergent factions get some bigger opinion debuffs with other factions... My games usually turn out with the blob that is WRE just becoming separated buuuuuy the emergent factions like Gaul, Septimania and Illyria, and since everybody loves them because they fight the WRE so much, they get to remain friendly and strong. It's pretty shitty IMO, but I understand the difficulties in changing that mechanic..
I'd like to see a mod where you can play as those rebel Roman states who have a variety of Roman and native units e.g Britain has Roman and Celtic units etc... It was awesome that you could play as the Romano British in the original Barbarian Invasion for Rome Total war and I hope that if CA doesn't introduce it in future DLC then someone will mod it in.
I wish modders/CA would change the weird as hell Roman roster. Palatina and protectores domestici were elite troops historically yet they're only tier 1? WHY? Also what's the point of cohors/legio when the cheaper units like palatina are so much better??? Makes no sense.
I'm pretty sure mods will come out that will change that. The game is only out for 2 weeks now. Cohors/Legio have acces to a missile weapon which can be handy at times.
As a fan of the TW Series from the first Shogun , i have to admit that Attila was much better than Rome 2 , but there are still many things that I did not like. 1)The reduced number of governors/agents/generals etc even if your "imperium" level is increased, significantly decreases the gameplay. How could I deal with "TERRIFYING" in imperium with only 12 generals? This is RIDICULOUS. 2)The addition of so many mercenaries was also good, but they are TOO MANY and TOO CHEAP in comparison with ordinary troops. 3)Why is it forbidden to hire troops without generals at all?I really don't understand it..I want to recruit cheap soldiers for public order and I can't!Why? The system was much better in Rome 1 ! 4)How could you have some regions of the map , like for instance Sicily with only one city? Why did you exclude India? 5)Why did you decrease so much the maximum number of men per unit?I really ,cannot understand the reason... Thanks to all the dedicated TW series community.

Try that now with fixed AI and on Legendary
Damn, do you have the replay? I'd really like to watch the battle
1:27 lol at the shepherd who destroyed the fence. ‘’Fuck this fence''
+Chivas6 Haha :)
the huns can settle mod is pretty useless, since they don't have their own buildings, nothing can be done except repairing the damaged buildings,
Awesome!! Probably gonna wait for the workshop though but these mods look great!
Thanks!
Mohamad Doghman lol mohaMAD xD
?
Mohamad Doghman Your name is funny, hopefully you will give your children creative names not Abdul/ Mohamad/ Mohammed/ Ahmed.
Interesting.....
Nice!!! More videos like this with good info on things to improve the game even more would be great man, really appreciated.
Crouchy232323 I'm glad that you liked it! Will do more things like this in the future!

Top 5's and top 10's will come back soon!

Loving your Attila videos! Subbed

Excuse me TWZ Do you know a mod to modify the lightings in this game? or at least a tutorial of how can I do it?
The mediafire links for Sebidee's Mods for Attila are down. Where can i download them?
Any info on the unit upgrade replacement mod? Has the mechanic changed in any of the DLCs or do I have to mod it out of the game?
Sadly but i don't think the last mod will be finished from what i was reading when i got to the page where the the link took me.
Do we need to start a brand new campaign to use these mods?
Hey hello i need help When i open atila No mod manager and Worskshop is there! i just dont see it ModManager Like for ROME 2
Good video, informative and well presented.
***** Thanks a lot!

I WANT GAME OF THRONES MOD ;_;
Sadly you can't change the map :(
There is a GoT mod for Medieval 2 though!
***** I mean to Attila. It suits it so well. Beside I don't have Medieval 2 :(
***** Get it. It's the second best total war game, and the best for mods.
i can't bloody find a link to download the low cost units, could you chuck me the link cause i've gone T"W center, total war blah blah and blah, i just want the O.G Rome 2 style with the mixture of low and high units and keep ballin into a new campaign on the west side.

All mods deter from CA's intention, otherwise they would have done it themselves. :P Thanks :)
Wheres the damn music pack mod ??
***** Which music pack mod?
***** Up you Bum
Thank you for showing off my mod :)
Sebidee TW Thanks for making your mods! Still loving your unit packs for Rome 2! I'm sure there will be more Sebidee mod spotlights on this channel!

Thanks mate! I'm actually from The Netherlands, haha. :)
how do i download mods for attila? In rome 2 i could just browse the workshop but that doesnt seem to be an option for attila?
ZoomZip Check the links in the description out. Download the files and put them in your Attila / data folder. Enable/disable with the mod manager.
Wish we get proper custom settlement editor tools and a campaign map editor tool
Where do you download the last mod from? I cant find it on steam or via the link you have place in the description.
TheScandinavien -_-

How to install mods?
Ok I know
where can I download this mod?
when is the best factions in attila vid coming out if ur making it
m4j0rfr34k I will continue my top 5/top 10 series very soon
this is why i use over 50 mods for rome 2. so many little things that need to be 'fixed'
I don't feel like it needs to be fixed, but you can improve it, yes.
yeah it seems like they have to make a game that is 90% finished because everyone has different opinions on what needs to be in the last 10%. maybe they should focus on making a better platform for people to implement their 10% changes.
I feel like in total war Attila or the total war series for that matter having a capital is pointless. Really what's the point of having one?
Now there is only one problem. What do you do with downloaded files!
***** It's fairly easy. You put the .pack file in the data folder of your Attila installation. For example: D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Total War Attila\data
***** Yeah I did that and started Attila. The mods was not implemented in the game after I put it the data folder. Do I have to do more?
Check the mod manager when you're loading up the game, they are disabled probably.
***** Never mind I fixed it
Is the announcer BroDual? The Skyrim Guy!? i'm a big fan of him!

+Dimaac Only if all other players use the same mods as well.
The barricates are very usefell for me cuz i put archers on them and they make around 200+ kills

What the hell is "Vanilia"?
Yes, I struggle with that word and you will have to deal with it. (If you're serious: the unmodded game)
It's a hack the devs hacked upon our computers and made everything normal.
ares106 It's an ice cream flavor.
