I hated its launch state as well and knew that the developers needed more time but I was just saying a lot of people made hate videos to get easy views back then. This is a good demonstration of two things: how both games focus on two polar opposite environments and how some things aren’t as immediately noticeable as others through common gameplay. RDR2 has better effects when grenades explode in water because there’s actual reason to do so, mainly fishing. Cyberpunk gives you literally no reason to throw a grenade in the water, but does have a small effect in case one does make it in there. RDR2 has better looking fire and spreading because of its natural environment and the insane focus on getting natural detail right. If nothing else, it’s amazing you CAN fairly compare Cyberpunk and RDR2, especially since CDPR had never done either a first person or urban setting before, and did both at the same time for the first time. Rockstar, of course, has been dealing with cities, trees, and guns for decades, at this point, so they’re going to have a bit of a leg up, but the fact that CDPR can stand so close, and even surpass in some areas, despite having next to no experience in urban environments, is fantastic.
Cyberpunk 2077 looks more impressive in terms of graphics in some places, as it has a world full of futuristic and geometric shapes and materials with more vibrant lights, but RDR 2 is definitely more realistic and has higher physics fidelity.

R* are masters at physic simulation since they released the Euphoria engine in their Rage engine and has been more than 10 years since then. Cyberpunk holds really fine, of couse after all the updates. But I stick with Cyberpunk since CDPR are pro consumer and mods friendly. Have you seen a modded Cyberpunk running on PC?

what makes it look kinda weird in cyberpunk is that the water is affected by the raindrops but only in a close area, there's nothing happening in the distance which does not help making it look natural (looks like the npcs are just taking a leak)

I think the biggest difference between the games is the NPCs. Every NPC in RDR2 feels alive, whereas the NPCs in CP2077 feel stiff and robotic. For me, that alone makes CP2077 feel more like a game.
Cyberpunk had so much potential. Its very fun as of now but the city and npcs sure do feel incredibly lifeless. I met like 4 same npcs driving a car in a row.
CDPR developed the engine at the same time the game. So, basically CDPR struggled with their in house engine because it was poorly documented and hacked together. That's why they changed to Unreal Engine 5.
Well if we look at texture quality Cyberpunk has the upper hand you can see the skin is more realistic in cyberpunk but it lacks of facedetails so in term of art and reality rdr2 has the upper hand
Cyberpunk also has a more enjoyable gameplay than even GTA 5, especially in the combat department... One thing i can't stand with any Rockstar game is why you don't fkg have dismemberment in this games? All those physics but where it matters MOST, humans are made of rubber! Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3 in this regard are wonderfully glorious, you can see limbs and heads flying in slo-mo if you throw a grenade while using sandy, you can do brutal finishers in the enemies, making, you can turn them into red mist while shoting them with heavy machine gun... Frankly, NO R* game beat this!
From the GTA 6 trailer it looks like it will have a skin much lower than Cyberpunk and even lower than RDR2 but I believe it will be because there will be a huge amount of NPCs

Cyberpunk is one of THE best games out. and cd-red provet over years, time and time again they do this for passion and gamers. RDR2 looks flat compared to cyberpunk, the lighting is very old, and the textures are already outdated. Cyberpunk does not have some of the details like in RDR2, but it looks many times better, on a different level.
Cyberpunk is very impressive in consideration to its use of the REDEngine, which isn't physics heavy. RDR 2 is pretty unimpressive when considering its use of the RAGE engine, which is very physics heavy. Though the fire physics is probably the best ever implemented, alongside horses. But everything else still falters in so many ways when you compare them to RDR 1. That's why these comparisons are interesting but also quite misleading to the casual viewer, since we can make GTA IV look like a better game by picking and choosing aspects or make it look like shit by focusing solely on graphics. What matters most is art direction and execution where both games have set a gold standard.
Holy shit someone who actually understands. Like GTA is literally a sandbox, they have ramps placed all over their maps so of course their physics are engine is one of the best, when that's all they do with it.
Not only that but the approach to violence and combat are very different, with the cyberware, quickhacks and mobility present in CP77 being the focus whereas RDR2 is animation fidelity, redeye and locational damage points. Neither is strictly better, rather they are very different.
They are two different games that try different things RDR 2 is a linear open world action adventure game while Cyberpunk is an non linear open world roleplaying game. I like Cyberpunk more because of how free form it is if you fail an objective the game will still keep going you wont get a fail screen unlike rdr 2, you have many ways to play in cyberpunk while in rdr 2 its how the developer wants you to play
Unfortunately a lot of what you're saying doesn't matter, that's on a dev level which doesn't matter to atleast 99% of the consumers. No customer will care about the engine it's made on, neither any other dev related stuff when buying the games. They will look at the finished article and the end result which is that RDR2 is a substantially more complete game and has been from the start. Cyberpunk must have had one of the worst game releases of all time with all the issues it had and the refunds that were issued as a result.
RDR2 will have the edge when it comes to physics and details because as a sandbox game, that's its main selling point. Cyberpunk 2077, even though it has sandbox features, is first and foremost an RPG, so its resources would mostly be put on story, character builds, branching choices, etc. With that said, at its current state now, its physics are really good. On the eye detail portion, it's easier to see the detail on Arthur's eyes because it's blue/green while Judy's eyes are dark brown. However, on your V, you can select brighter eye colors, and you'll be able to see that the eyes in Cyberpunk are also very detailed.

cyberpunk is still shit to me, this game literally crashes, even with the 2.2 update. They need to optimize the game, but CD project it's like this: -Our game crashes every 2 hours, okay, then players should be able to ride the train in the next update. ok look they add good things too but The good things don't mean anything compared to the bad things in this game. I gave my 123 hours for this game now think about it 123 hours and 2 or 1 hour game crashes ever time . thank god god gave me incredible patience . ( I finished the game by the way )
I think objects are the best in "Control". When every chair, table and desk can be pushed and lifted, that just gives a different level of realism. But of course in terms of graphical quality RDR2 remains unbeaten. I think the next Naughty Dog game needs to come out to beat that.
Yes in terms of tech I agree. But Cyberpunk is way more engaging and the characters and storyline is memorable overall. Rockstar is a grandad when it comes to creating realistic open world games. CP2077 was the first FPS game made by CDPR. People forget that CDPR isn't a giant like Rockstar with unlimited resources and time.

I find the gameplay much more fun, has more depth, challenge and freedom in Cyberpunk. The game world, lore and aesthetic just grab me in a way I haven't felt about a game since like GTA IV, maybe Witcher 3. Night City is by far the best city in a video game. The characters, voice acting and dialogue are every bit as good as RDR2, and I find the story a lot fresher, interesting and more inspired. It's such a shame CDPR stupidly released it in such a sorry state because Cyberpunk is a truly great game.
Comparing the face details of an old man and a young girl doesn't seem quite apples-to-apples. One rain detail I noticed in CP77 was that when driving through rain, you can see the rain hit the window and stick or run down very realistically. But realism of game mechanics isn't the most important part of either game, IMO.
RDR2 is a masterpiece in terms of the tech used but it never captivated me the way Cyberpunk did. Even though it was a mess at first (they should have cooked it gor 2 more years), since 2022 the game is getting better and better. The characters and gameplay is more up my alley. I simply do not like the mid western style of RDR2 and the customisation CP2077 provides in terms of player build is just something else! Both are great games though.

Both are the greatest games of all time. Choosing which one is best is more of a matter of personal preferences. RDR2 has more realism while CP is much more engaging and fun, but less realism, armory in pocket, restaurant in pocket, clothes shop in pocket! CP had at least 7 years in development and 2.5 years of polishing, so about 9-10 years is quite the time spent on it, 80 peecent on crafting the game and 20 percent on optimizing, bug reduction. RDR2 is followed around 2010-2011 and qbout 8 years in development, maybe 1 year of finalizing. Both spent the same amount of time on crafting alone, about 7 years. Compare RDR2 to GTA V, which took about 5 years. The game was literally a real life super mario. Arcade driving, a gunshop in pockets, COD style health system, Poor Texture Quality, Unoptimized engine, instead lowering the quality, only SLOD's in reflections, no vehicles in mirrors, very little interiors, average details, short story with a lot of cut content: franklin and lamar should have a much longer part in gang wars, michael should have more arguments/awkward situations with family, and trevor should have a much longer Playthrough before meeting michael, there should be a long way into earning money, the game gives you hundred thousands of dollars in a few hours to jewel store, few spending options, few cars to buy, no house to buy, mostly unable to enter interior in purchased properties, the submarine property gives you millions in a short time collecting stuff in submarine, poor tree quality, less details from predecessor, and long list of shortcomings which many were only added in online, thw game should have been released much later to have GTA online stuff like apartments, more cars and insurance and... Just see how a company puts a lot of effort in something and not in some other. They almost never polished the game, lots of memory issues, etc. RDR2/CP2077, best games of all time. Period. No Zelda or Mario beats these tbh

So cyberpunk sea explosion here is on par with rdr2 if not better You are throwing grenade to create fire when you should try Molotov in cyberpunk. Also the grasses are made differently in both games. Cyberpunk is set in 2077 where forest and grasses are in low amount compared to rdr2, grasses are also different looking and low amount of density compare to rdr2 which is set in 1899 where flora and fauna were abundant Now the realistic fire, isn't it a common knowledge that Wood catches fire easily ? And if it's somewhat dry, it catches fire even easily. So density of fire will obviously be stronger. And rdr2 is using wood while Cyberpunk is using Plastics only which are way harder to catch fire compared to wood Only time where RDR2 surpasses Cyberpunk is the NPC ai in the video. For the most part, Cyberpunk > RDR2
CP2077 only relies on realistic, and Realistic without detail is like food without taste and it's very boring, RDR2 is still the king of realism and detail.
Only game where I was shocked at how good the graphics where similarly to rdr2 was last of us 2, and it’s crazy to think that RDR2 is an open world game and looked this good. Last of us 2 looks absolutely insane aswell.
Now compare the gameplay lol, - rdr2 shoot with all the same weapons that only change the sound, take cover, use rope and throw bombs, completely scripted missions if you walk one meter out of line it fails, repetitive enemies that don't use simple things like akimbo (which the protagonist uses) -cyberpunk 2077 3 categories of weapons with different shots with several different weapons, active and passive skills in a rich skill tree, hacker, katanas, dodge, sandevision, different ways to complete a mission, dialogue options, varied enemies that use different skills how to dodge bullets and sniper that goes through walls, throws lots of grenades and even hacks the player - I like both games but I think cyberpunk is far superior in terms of campaign and combat. -they tie in the story and characters -e rdr 2 is far superior in the open world
Yep, details are important, sure, but a game worth is how much it entertains the player. I've dropped rdr2 out of boredom at around 50%, while finished the whole Cyberpunk more than 3x. Cyberpunk may lose in the physics and tiny details department, but has better story, quests, gameplay and overall variety, so for me it wins as a better game.
You must be the only one who thinks that Cyberpunk has a better story than RDR2.. RDR2 has one of the best stories ever. Not even something up for debate IMO..

The story is very good, it's a slow start but it's only a few missions in that it really starts to get good. It's the greatest story for me. Im not even into games as such, but it is the best game i've ever played. Game play is good, as are the missions. I genuinley do not agree with that.
I see, well for me besides the amazing quests, side-quests and jobs, the environmental storytelling that Cyberpunk does is in a whole next level in comparison. Not mention the range of different playstyles and aprouches in gameplay. But in the end of the day it's to each their own, let's agree to disagree then and just enjoy our games.

Cyberpunk have draw distance issues not only water drop but also the shadow and object pop in. No game will ever beat rdr2 for sure ❤.

Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3 in this regard are wonderfully glorious, you can see limbs and heads flying in slo-mo if you throw a grenade while using sandy, you can do brutal finishers in the enemies, making, you can turn them into red mist while shoting them with heavy machine gun...

From the GTA 6 trailer it looks like it will have a skin much lower than Cyberpunk and even lower than RDR2 but I believe it will be because there will be a huge amount of NPCs

Cyberpunk actually looks so much better now, with all the details, bug fixes and more. Shame that the launch was a piece of Hell and CD Projekt Red can never recover from that.

Cyberpunk is one of THE best games out. and cd-red provet over years, time and time again they do this for passion and gamers. That part doesnt look so got with the rockstar guys...the seem to fall more into the money side of things, still in the green area for now

it's just a pity that so few people have a home theater and few people appreciate how perfectly the surround sound is made and what general details there are in cyberpunk. just as few people will appreciate this beautiful HDR because most people do not realize that HDR only makes sense on OLED.

RDR2 looks flat compared to cyberpunk, the lighting is very old, and the textures are already outdated. Cyberpunk does not have some of the details like in RDR2, but it looks many times better, on a different level.

Cyberpunk is very impressive in consideration to its use of the REDEngine, which isn't physics heavy.
RDR 2 is pretty unimpressive when considering its use of the RAGE engine, which is very physics heavy. Though the fire physics is probably the best ever implemented, alongside horses. But everything else still falters in so many ways when you compare them to RDR 1.
That's why these comparisons are interesting but also quite misleading to the casual viewer, since we can make GTA IV look like a better game by picking and choosing aspects or make it look like shit by focusing solely on graphics.
What matters most is art direction and execution where both games have set a gold standard.
Holy shit someone who actually understands. Like GTA is literally a sandbox, they have ramps placed all over their maps so of course their physics are engine is one of the best, when that's all they do with it.
Not only that but the approach to violence and combat are very different, with the cyberware, quickhacks and mobility present in CP77 being the focus whereas RDR2 is animation fidelity, redeye and locational damage points. Neither is strictly better, rather they are very different.

They are two different games that try different things RDR 2 is a linear open world action adventure game while Cyberpunk is an non linear open world roleplaying game. I like Cyberpunk more because of how free form it is if you fail an objective the game will still keep going you wont get a fail screen unlike rdr 2, you have many ways to play in cyberpunk while in rdr 2 its how the developer wants you to play
Unfortunately a lot of what you're saying doesn't matter, that's on a dev level which doesn't matter to atleast 99% of the consumers. No customer will care about the engine it's made on, neither any other dev related stuff when buying the games.
They will look at the finished article and the end result which is that RDR2 is a substantially more complete game and has been from the start. Cyberpunk must have had one of the worst game releases of all time with all the issues it had and the refunds that were issued as a result.
The wheel one in RDR2 got me in awe
RDR2 will have the edge when it comes to physics and details because as a sandbox game, that's its main selling point. Cyberpunk 2077, even though it has sandbox features, is first and foremost an RPG, so its resources would mostly be put on story, character builds, branching choices, etc. With that said, at its current state now, its physics are really good.
On the eye detail portion, it's easier to see the detail on Arthur's eyes because it's blue/green while Judy's eyes are dark brown. However, on your V, you can select brighter eye colors, and you'll be able to see that the eyes in Cyberpunk are also very detailed.
Why TF would you care about graphics that much?
Overall cyberpunk is a much more fun gameplay than rdr2

cyberpunk is still shit to me, this game literally crashes, even with the 2.2 update. They need to optimize the game, but CD project it's like this: -Our game crashes every 2 hours, okay, then players should be able to ride the train in the next update. ok look they add good things too but The good things don't mean anything compared to the bad things in this game. I gave my 123 hours for this game now think about it 123 hours and 2 or 1 hour game crashes ever time . thank god god gave me incredible patience . ( I finished the game by the way )

I think objects are the best in "Control". When every chair, table and desk can be pushed and lifted, that just gives a different level of realism.
But of course in terms of graphical quality RDR2 remains unbeaten. I think the next Naughty Dog game needs to come out to beat that.

Yes in terms of tech I agree. But Cyberpunk is way more engaging and the characters and storyline is memorable overall. Rockstar is a grandad when it comes to creating realistic open world games. CP2077 was the first FPS game made by CDPR. People forget that CDPR isn't a giant like Rockstar with unlimited resources and time.
You should do a shadow comparison with rtx 😂 biggest detail breaker, that and the goofy civilian interactions or wait when they randomly disappear in a 5 meter distance or when cars spawn in each other
RDR2 doesn't have RTX. But sure, disabling RTX in Cyberpunk is giving advantage to RDR2.

I find the gameplay much more fun, has more depth, challenge and freedom in Cyberpunk. The game world, lore and aesthetic just grab me in a way I haven't felt about a game since like GTA IV, maybe Witcher 3. Night City is by far the best city in a video game. The characters, voice acting and dialogue are every bit as good as RDR2, and I find the story a lot fresher, interesting and more inspired.
It's such a shame CDPR stupidly released it in such a sorry state because Cyberpunk is a truly great game.
Comparing the face details of an old man and a young girl doesn't seem quite apples-to-apples. One rain detail I noticed in CP77 was that when driving through rain, you can see the rain hit the window and stick or run down very realistically. But realism of game mechanics isn't the most important part of either game, IMO.

RDR2 provides the best realism.
RDR2 is a masterpiece in terms of the tech used but it never captivated me the way Cyberpunk did. Even though it was a mess at first (they should have cooked it gor 2 more years), since 2022 the game is getting better and better. The characters and gameplay is more up my alley. I simply do not like the mid western style of RDR2 and the customisation CP2077 provides in terms of player build is just something else! Both are great games though.

Both are the greatest games of all time. Choosing which one is best is more of a matter of personal preferences. RDR2 has more realism while CP is much more engaging and fun, but less realism, armory in pocket, restaurant in pocket, clothes shop in pocket! CP had at least 7 years in development and 2.5 years of polishing, so about 9-10 years is quite the time spent on it, 80 peecent on crafting the game and 20 percent on optimizing, bug reduction. RDR2 is followed around 2010-2011 and qbout 8 years in development, maybe 1 year of finalizing. Both spent the same amount of time on crafting alone, about 7 years. Compare RDR2 to GTA V, which took about 5 years. The game was literally a real life super mario. Arcade driving, a gunshop in pockets, COD style health system, Poor Texture Quality, Unoptimized engine, instead lowering the quality, only SLOD's in reflections, no vehicles in mirrors, very little interiors, average details, short story with a lot of cut content: franklin and lamar should have a much longer part in gang wars, michael should have more arguments/awkward situations with family, and trevor should have a much longer Playthrough before meeting michael, there should be a long way into earning money, the game gives you hundred thousands of dollars in a few hours to jewel store, few spending options, few cars to buy, no house to buy, mostly unable to enter interior in purchased properties, the submarine property gives you millions in a short time collecting stuff in submarine, poor tree quality, less details from predecessor, and long list of shortcomings which many were only added in online, thw game should have been released much later to have GTA online stuff like apartments, more cars and insurance and...
Just see how a company puts a lot of effort in something and not in some other. They almost never polished the game, lots of memory issues, etc. RDR2/CP2077, best games of all time. Period. No Zelda or Mario beats these tbh

Police not dying of grenade in cyberpunk which is an rpg game shouldn't be compared to rdr2 which aims at realism. Police is stronger in cyberpunk while in rdr2 one shot kill is nothing same goes for grenade
Now about the grenade. In cyberpunk sea water has way more depth compared to rdr2, and you can even see grenade is falling deeply into the sea while in rdr2 there's not much depth in seas, one of the weakest point of a game that aims at realism. So cyberpunk sea explosion here is on par with rdr2 if not better
You are throwing grenade to create fire when you should try Molotov in cyberpunk. Also the grasses are made differently in both games. Cyberpunk is set in 2077 where forest and grasses are in low amount compared to rdr2, grasses are also different looking and low amount of density compare to rdr2 which is set in 1899 where flora and fauna were abundant
Now the realistic fire, isn't it a common knowledge that Wood catches fire easily ? And if it's somewhat dry, it catches fire even easily. So density of fire will obviously be stronger. And rdr2 is using wood while Cyberpunk is using Plastics only which are way harder to catch fire compared to wood

-cyberpunk 2077 3 categories of weapons with different shots with several different weapons, active and passive skills in a rich skill tree, hacker, katanas, dodge, sandevision, different ways to complete a mission, dialogue options, varied enemies that use different skills how to dodge bullets and sniper that goes through walls, throws lots of grenades and even hacks the player

Yep, details are important, sure, but a game worth is how much it entertains the player.
I've dropped rdr2 out of boredom at around 50%, while finished the whole Cyberpunk more than 3x.
Cyberpunk may lose in the physics and tiny details department, but has better story, quests, gameplay and overall variety, so for me it wins as a better game.
You must be the only one who thinks that Cyberpunk has a better story than RDR2.. RDR2 has one of the best stories ever.

@@SyedShah-ox3ke true the story is good, but you have to admit that it has a slow beggining, so I had to watch a streamer playing to see the end since I've dropped the game in the middle. Mainly because of the tiring and repetitive quests that lead to it and the cluncky and outdated gameplay.
The story is very good, it's a slow start but it's only a few missions in that it really starts to get good. It's the greatest story for me. Im not even into games as such, but it is the best game i've ever played.
Game play is good, as are the missions. I genuinley do not agree with that.
I see, well for me besides the amazing quests, side-quests and jobs, the environmental storytelling that Cyberpunk does is in a whole next level in comparison. Not mention the range of different playstyles and aprouches in gameplay.
But in the end of the day it's to each their own, let's agree to disagree then and just enjoy our games.
