I accidentally knocked the door actuator cable off while installing new speakers on my RX350 this morning... Your video showed me how to get it out so I could re-attach the cable... Thank you!!!
Great instruction! The tip about removing the trim first before reinstalling the panel is very helpful. I didn't know to do this my first time and it was a bear getting it back on. So far I have replaced three actuators on my 2012 Tundra and I am replacing the third actuator on my 2015 Lexus, today. The motors inside all the actuators are 'made in China'. My brother-in-law has a 2008 Tundra and has had no issues with his door locks. I can only assume the actuator motors on the earlier models were most likely made in Japan, or somewhere other than China.

Great video. Saved me hundreds of dollars. I tried going down the super inexpensive path and replace just the motor in the actuator; I came close but caused damage trying to get it open. Great experience none the less.

Any advice on what I may need to check/adjust? For context; the window will roll up and down it’s just slow and or stops half way, if it stops half way I have to press and hold the window switch to get it to completely roll up or down.
@@POVIEWS if this problem only started after you replaced the door lock actuator, most likely some mistake was made during the reassembly process. I would suggest to remove the door panel and recheck your work. Operate the window with the door panel off and see what is causing it to bind. Check that the window guide you had to unbolt to remove the actuator was reinstalled properly and the cables were routed correctly etc.

I dont know what went wrong, but once I got the new actuator installed, ( which apears to be faulty) now the keyed lock in the handle is non-functional. What might have happened? I am returnong the actuator for replacwment as it only has very limited action and the box for the bottom cable as well as the electrical clip will ot hold. My bad for buying knock-off parts. I ened up putting the dead OEM aprt back in so at least I can latch and lock the door,But as I said, the keyed lock just turns without action on the lock mechanism. iI'm tempted to do the motor replacement I've seen on a few other videos, so I can keep my OEM part, but that wont fix the key issue. HELP! And again, thanks for your instruction and wisdom.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive It did seem like it went too deep, but the plastic clip easily reached the vertical portion of the rod. I think we have the process down to get in there, so will try again. What do you think about replacing the motor from the original actuator? $8 vs the whole device, plus all the clips are sound/robust. I feel i should scrape and replace the "tar" to ge the best seal. What is the material called? As a doctor of Chiropractic, I love doing this sort of project, just wish I had a better understanding of the system as a whole. The only complaint on my RX450 are these damn actuators. I got it as a CPO with 50K on it and all four doors failed before 100K. Lexus covered them under the CPO warranty, but the dealer billed $500 per door. Now, well past warranty, the driver side has failed again. I see the part is $137. For the dealer now quoting $1,000 per door, I guess I'll be trying this. Thanks for posting!!!!!
Also, on our drivers side door there was some sort of sensor bolted onto the door on the bottom left side (below the door latch). The electrical connector didn't want to come off but kinda needed to to get the vapor barrier out of the way. I figured that meant I shouldn't mess with it and just worked around it. Thought it might be an accelerometer tied to the airbag. No need for that sort of mishap. Do you know what it is?@ It is a black plastic block about 1-1/2" x 1" with a ground wire also bolted to the door.
Hello Viktor great video. I have a 2010 lexus RX and the driver side door stopped locking and unlocking the car but the passenger one still works. I can still lock the car using the remote and inside controls. Is this my driver door handle touch sensor? And can this be replaced separately or I would need a whole new door handle? Thank you.
If just the touch lock/unlock feature does not work on one single door, it could be the door handle touch sensor (I think it is part of the handle and cannot be bought separately, but you can confirm with your parts department and VIN). I did do some diagnosis looking at live data and the car recognizes when I place my hand on the touch sensor on the passenger door but not the driver door. Excellent instruction! I have to replace my driver door actuator on my Lexus and Tundra. On a Toyota Tundra actuator installation video I watched they showed taking the key lock out and then replacing it by lining up the "plus" shaped bar in the plus-shaped hole on the new actuator. My question is this the same design/procedure with the Lexus driver's door?
I realized that extra little "bonus step" as I was pulling out my old one. I was able to get mine back in without removing the lock. But that was after several failed attempts, then it kinda just fell into place. Works fine. Don't know what is involved with removing the door handle assembly, but I'm sure it is a lot less frustrating!!!

When I put in drive all doors lock with one fob but driver door unlocks with the other fob. Is there a reset that needs to be done or is the used one NG. Thank you for your time
Hi, unfortunately I do not have experience with installing used actuators as that was not something that Lexus would allow to do, all of the replacement parts were new. Maybe it would need some reprogramming with the scan tool to make it work properly, I am not sure.

My 2014 RX 350 have all 4 door locks not working. I don't know what to do. I am afraid that car dealers will overcharge and then later having issue again. I decide not to fix them. I always leave one back door unlocked so that I can get in my car to drive. It has been like this for 3 years.

How possible all 4 actuators were suddenly dead at the same time. The surgeon can’t operate patients without diagnosis. Same thing to cars.

It sounds like the metal rod from the door lock key cylinder was not reinstalled correctly.

Most likely you are referring to the airbag impact sensor.

No programming is required. Key fob has one battery.
