Best version ever. She plays with such ease, it's like she's one with the piano. Her voice, her hands and those keys all work together. Absolutely love this.
I dont know anybody that can compare with here writing singing and playing all together she is a triple threat!!!!!! She has mastered all levels I have never heard her sing this song I always loved it!!! WOW I love you TWINKIE!!!
supanovaMECCA We are still singing her stuff from the 70s!!! This, Praying Spirit, Hallelujah, My Mind Is Made Up...ALL of which she wrote in her early 20s! And she only got better with time. what?!!!!!
She is the sound of the Clark sisters I can hear Jackie, Denise and of cos Karen in her voice. Her voice is so angelic. Able to soar in the higher register and reach deeper into the low as well supported by the unusual ability to use extreme melisma and trills
Twinkie is the quiet storm. She sings like every one of her sisters. She still sings sweet and pretty like Jacky. Has that piercing soprano like Denise. She's jazzy(scats and riffs)like Dorinda. Twinkie is like Karen because she too will leave you breathless after she's done singing, though not as much.
Twinkie is the whole reason Jacky, Denise, Dorinda and Karen developed their individual sounds. Mattie started it but Twinkie was the centerpiece and taught every sister their parts. Even now, they need Twinkie. She's the leader for a reason.
The major difference I see between the way that Twinkie and Karen sing is that Karen's role in the group was lead soloist (not lead singer -- like Twinkie oft was) so she perfected that gift of singing ornamentally over things, which with decades of execution pushed her improvisational ability over the top. You'll notice what I mean (lead soloist vs. lead singer) on their early records especially, Twinkie would sing the verses, which requires a level of holding back as it's important to deliver the melody fairly unembellished as to establish the musical ideas for them to later be riffed on, but on that 2nd chorus (or 3rd depending on if the song started with the chorus) Karen would take over to exclaim and push it over the top (You Brought the Sunshine being a great example).
1:46-2:10 those runs and that classic Twinkie Growl I pray that the whole situation is resolved with Denise... Twinkie remembers “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me”
My favorite Clark Sister. uncontested. Hey she is just like one of my favorite singers of any era and genre. I saw her once but was way to shy to say anything. I hate i didn't tell her something.
I looooove the way Twinkie sang this!! I’ve always loved the way Karen sings this but the way Twinkie is singing this & killing that piano is really touching my heart & soul 🙏♥️
I happen to love the Clark sisters and really just love Twinkie's spirit if I could study under her even at my age i would love the chance she is just such a wonderful testamony to holiness and the annointing that comes living holy.
My father went home to be with God in 2008, then in 2009 God came and took my mother home. I didn't understand why, just coming into Ministry. That was their heart desire to see me go forth. But they never got the chance. And it hurt sooo bad. I wanted to give up thinking I couldn't do it without them. But God had me to listen to Twinkie sing this song, it really has bless and encourage me to know that I can do ALL THINGS through Christ., even at age 50.
Oh My Dear Sweet Lord! I listen to this woman play AND SAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNGGGGG...and I often say "What manner of human being with a Divine Gift IS this woman?" Twinkie is a gift to the planet!
This is the first time I had heard Twinkie sing this song; however, she actually wrote and arranged it. It was published in 1984 or 1985. She sings and plays it beautifully.
Rev. Faith E. Cobb Actually it was 74! Which further solidifies its status as a standard! The Unworthy Album is its first appearance. With a 14 year old Karen Clark on lead.
@@UncleDuTheWatchman Think Unworthy came out in 1976. Karen was 15 and pushing 16 (I forget the actual date of its release), I think. But yeah you're right.
It’s interesting listening to this the African folks don’t know the growling and riffing like we are used to back in the States! But they were able to appreciate her classical piano skills just the same.
Love this!! Love the song and love the way Twinkie renders it. Hands down, one of the songwriters, musicians, and vocalists of all times. #anointed #underrated
She was way ahead of her time. Beautiful voice and an amazing performer. Touched and anointed by the Lord. Twinkie you’re amazing

The one and only Twinkie Clark. One of the greatest vocalists and musicians of all time. Look at her hands move...
Once again, Twinkie's runs and or melisma are sang in perfect pitch. There is only one TWINKIE!!!!!

She sings like a musician. That’s what sets her apart from her sisters. Her vocal choices are splendid
I'm amazed by her skills on the keyboard (and of course organ)! One of the best vocalists in gospel music today.
Twinkie Clark is always awesome but this Africa setlist hit so different!!!! ❤
