I'm amazed to see 2-3 year old Corvettes with swirls in the paint. It's not that hard to do it right, yet people buy a $100K car and clean it with paper towels...
Those 2021s for 58k should be in the 45k-50k range today. None of those are "good deals" who pays new car price for a 2 and 3 year old car...those cars were about 62k new and they want 58k used? Not happening.
Unfortunately depending on how you look at it is what the market is demanding still. A C7 with around 30k miles (Stingray btw) will still fetch 45k plus (clean car no accidents etc). The C7s & C8s are simply not diminishing in value like other cars. Partial due to the fact GM made a very desirable car. Also, inflation is taking its toll as well. If prices of everything didn't go up roughly 13% the last 3-4 years then a used C8 could be had low in the low 50s and a C7 would be high 30s.
@@VetOnVettes My first Corvette was a 7 year old C6 Z51 with 2LT Red Metalic and it had 18,200 miles on it,the MSRP was $53,780 the guy wanted $24000 and I bought it for $21,500,the only way I would buy another Corvette is if it was a reasonable price and prices today are not reasonable..I will not die if I don't buy another Corvette,it's not that I can't afford to buy another Corvette it's just that I am not one to pay through the nose so to speak for a want.
Dealers around me are insane..they are wanting 51k for a 7 year old Z51 1LT,the MSRP window sticker was 66k,those 6 and 7 year old Corvettes should be in the neighborhood of 38k-40k at most and people know this because this car in particular has been sitting for almost 6 months on the lot.
Another thing to consider is see what the vehicle was used for. “Fleet” vehicles are company/rental cars and have more underlying problems than you think!
People were buying this car for almost double MSRP... The prices aren't falling, it's just simply more being produced and you can walk into a dealer and buy one at sticker
I fell in love with the Corvette as a 5 year ikd in the 70s and throughout my life have owned multiple C3 , C4 , C5 and now C7. Got to say...i have never wanted a C1 and i still do not want a C8. Great car , just as a Corvette man , i dont have want for it. I will just stick with the C2 - C7 until or if one comes along i like again.
Dude I love your channel. Thank you very much for taking the time to edit and post all of these - you are very talented and a true salient voice for the Vette community (specifically C5 & C8 - my faves!). Appreciate you - from one C5 modding fool to another. Can't tell you how many times I've been in my garage with one of your tutorial vids up on my phone (steering wheel install). You are the man.
My Corvette has a value much higher than is reflected in the market because- It was built on a Tuesday and has the black seats with the blue stitching. It's super rare.
It’s really not that easy finding a car that has miles and has had the DCT filter changed according to the manufacturer Requirements. I looked for 4 years and found three. None of which had the features I wanted. I just ended up buying a new 2024 this month. That way I know how the car was broken in and that maintenance is going to be done!
Insane that the starting price has moved up 20k in a matter of 4 years for this car. My salary hasn't seen a raise since 2.5 years ago or even a cost of living.
Yeah, that’s not really true. When the C8 first came out, the starting MSRP was $59,995.00. Last I looked, the starting price was about 10k more. That said, vote accordingly if you don’t like the inflation and wage stagnation. I will certainly be doing my part. 💪🇺🇸 Edit…Just FYI, MacMulkin has new C8 Stingrays on the lot for $10k under MSRP.
Yep the said its under 60000 oh man the crowd went crazy then the said 59995 what BS 5 dollars? Yes under 60 but 5 dollars? That should have told everyone a screwing was coming when talking about cars under a certain amount you expect a couple of hundred dollars nit 5 fucking dollars. Then the dealers got their "market adjustmebt" in there but not me I bought a 23 anniversary edition listed for 104 for 83.
@@walterraulerson2986 When I bought my (then brand new) 2016 Z06 with 4 miles on it, nobody in my local area was cutting any money off of Z06s. I was going to get one but they’re everywhere where I live. It’s a great performing car, especially for the price but they’re as common as seeing mustangs in Metro Detroit at this point
This proves my statement that these vettes are not well made - you stated they should be bought with an extended warranty!!! I've purchased many Porsche and Audi vehicles and never ever had to buy an extended warranty and they were all great cars with absolutely zero issues!!! I think GM did well with the V8 engine especially the flat plane Z06 as well as the flat plane twin turbo in the ZR1! However, their screwed up design with the interior, HMI, small buttons down a center rail for HVAC controls along with a lot of 2nd rate design elements that causes the car not to flow and be harmonious as seen in cars by Porsche or Lamborghini! The C8 just looks like it was done by a team with zero experience in design and it shows!!! Lamborghini came out with the Huracan Tecnica at about the same time and you can see their intro video on YT! A world of difference! Remember, I'm talking about design and not necessarily the final manufacturered cost! GM could have done better! In fact, they would have been light years ahead if they hired Lamborghini to come up with the design and GM just manufacturered it!!!
People will sell when the warranty is gone or about to end, when the dealer gets ahold of them to sell they will be charging for those after market warranty or you can opt out, what will be the repair prices for these vechicles without that warranty?Owners will be looking to get rid of ,on and on.
Virginias personal property tax makes market research to find a car that doest depreciate null and void. Unless you get some >25 years old and antique plate it , so it's no longer personal property.
Supply and demand that’s why. Chevy is making too many of them so anyone who wanted one has one or had one. I know a dealer who sells all the used C8 with a lifetime bumper to bumpers warranty on all C8 under 100k miles before purchasing.
I'd look very closely at the details of that warranty- Non GM third party warranties are practically useless or worse. GM's legal position on design defects is that they are not covered by warranty or lemon law because they don't fall under the category of "workmanship". This insane legal theory has been recently affirmed by the courts and the test case we in fact, the C8's bent wheels (of all things?)
Yes the high mileage C8Zo6 you are talking about I was going to buy. It just sold today. It had 82k on it and was a rare caffeine color. He wanted 99,900.

My best friend down in Ft. Lauderdale bought a new 2023 c8 and had it lemon lawed after it had two failed transmissions before 5k miles.
It's probably bec the older C8's warranties are expiring... which is going to cause owners problems.
You’d have to be a fool to buy a 2020 vette with no warranty. ESP at the still high prices
You can get new c8 at Les Stanford in Dearborn for 10% off msrp which is cheaper than buying used
