  • 🌟 Inspiration of the Week: The Underdog Victory 🌟
On Saturday, at the Regional 5 AAU National Qualifier, Jenell McKnight stood in Lane 5 for the finals with the second-fastest qualifying time. However, during the introductions, the announcer highlighted everyone except Jenell. He talked about the fastest time in Lane 4, noted the time in Lane 6, and advised everyone to watch out for Lane 7. Jenell was overlooked and underestimated.
Before the race, Jenell and her teammate Maria prayed for God's protection and for the chance to make Nationals 🙏. They were determined, and Jenell had her eyes set on more than just making the Top 5-she wanted a medal 🏅. Jenell was promised that if she ran a 12.9, she would get to eat her favorite meal: crabs and mac & cheese 🦀🧀. She was hungry for victory in more ways than one!
And before we left, we made a stop at Papa's House and received a blessing from the Bishop 🙌😊.
As the race unfolded, it turned into a nail-biter. And in the end, guess whose name he called as the winner? That's right-Jenell McKnight! Despite being told to keep our eyes on everyone else, the true champion emerged from the shadows. And you can watch the full race video to experience the thrilling moments, including her proud daddy's yell as he predicted the winner even before the announcer did! 📹👨‍👧
Isn't that how we often live our lives? We focus on those who are spotlighted by others, but sometimes, there is a "ram in the bush" waiting to surprise us all.
This reminds me of the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. David was overlooked and underestimated, but he emerged victorious against all odds. Just like David, Jenell showed us that true strength and victory often come from unexpected places.
Let’s be inspired by Jenell’s story and remember that sometimes, the greatest achievements come from those who quietly persevere and rise above the noise. Stay focused, stay determined, and believe in your hidden potential.

1 Samuel 17:50 (NIV) - "So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand, he struck down the Philistine and killed him."
Keep pushing forward, and remember, you may be the next "ram in the bush" ready to surprise the world with your greatness!
