King Dj-Slim: Doing plugs on these over head cam engines is never about fun times! This one went pretty well though. Much better than I was thinking it would anyways.
Thanks for the video! I'm not a mechanic but I was able to do the job today. I took my time and changed each plug and coil separately before moving on to the next cylinder. Since the throttle body was exposed I gave that a quick cleaning also. I got 19 years of carbon build-up off.
Yeah. I'm having problems. Boot comes off coil. And I can't get boot off plug. Can't pull coil spring and deform that or you will need a new coil spring
@@jasonyoung4890 Try putting some oil down the boot and let it soak in maybe that will help, my was really tough to remove almost the hardest part of the job too funny, I always wonder what it will be when I work on a car, what blot did the previous pyscho over torq?
@@Moondoggy1941 I ended up buying what factory calls for it. Motorcraft platinum. I have owned town cars and mercs and I know these engines are just as picky as them. Lincoln ls had autolite iridium's and I could immediately tell a difference now.
It's not overly expensive, but it's a little more expensive than most cars. Rockauto is going to be your best friend with one of these, but even rockauto doesn't have everything. Parts stores are for the most part either not gong to have what you need, or it will be an insane price. The transmissions in these cars can start having problems around 100k, I'm actually very unfortunate as my car only has 76k and already has shifting issues. Really, it depends on the previous owner!
First...lol! Plugging away at the Lincoln now, always working, that's good! Just got the garage heater installed last week. As soon as the holidays are thru, I'm getting at it on my car. 3 large projects and about 5 small ones. So I will be busy here shortly. Was talking to my Garage friend, he said I should jjust pull the cats and weld in straights and not replace the off road H with a new one, what's your opinion? The new H pipes aren't too expensive, IDK. Any way, hope all is good, hope you have a Happy Holiday! Wish I could work like you do, starting at 5:37....how do you do that, BRO?!
J PP: I got turbo wrenching arms BRO! Hahaha!!! Glad to hear you got the heater set up in your garage. That's really good news. I personally think it would be much easier to just get a new H-pipe and install it. Cutting up the pipes and replacing the sections is just going to be time consuming and annoying. The new H-pipe is fairly cheap, not worth messing around with cutting everything up from my point of view.
@@fwh79FOXR6 those are awesome turbo wrenching arms...BRO! hahaha Yeah, I'm in agreement..just going to replace the pipe. I think a pipe that's not all hacked up, would be cleaner and less of a chance of leaking. Will be getting busy in a bit on these projects. We'll be in touch...brah!

Everyone make sure to use the right plugs and coils
How would you know if there the right plugs, so if I go to Walmart to get some, will they be the wrong plugs
I did my wife's 2003 LS sport 3.9. Same oily looking threads made me wonder. But absolutely no sign of oil in the sparkplug well. No issues
If you have an old ignition coil, you can use the rubber part to pull out the spark plugs, I'm doing it right now 😂
Yes sir my guy. Nothing like car work. Much love to your channel man. I gotta buy another mustang.

What is the gap for the spark plugs, I have a T-Bird with the same engine? 6:32 is the answer.
Hey how you doing, I have a Lincoln ls and it have a sound when I turn it on, like a rough sound to it, can you tell me, what that might can be

Is double platinum or iridium best for these lincolns

It is. My 2004 is identical to that engine compartment and motor.
