Thank you for the video and the handwriting sheets. When I was in third grade (back in 1961!) I had a teacher who was insistent that we learn to write in beautiful cursive. I didn't like her at the time, but I grew to appreciate her over the years because I have very nice handwriting. However, the more I have used computers (and less pen and paper), the sloppier my handwriting has become. I think that is why I thought I wanted to do digital planning, but I haven't been enjoying it much. I have my Hobonichi A6, and I really want to print in it rather than write in cursive, but my printing has never been as nice as my handwriting, so this came at a perfect time for me. I truthfully think that I'm a pen and paper kind of girl after all! Thank you!
I am still in shock they don’t teach cursive anymore!! My oldest is in 3rd grade and I recently found a folder with schoolwork from grade school. The difference is unbelievable!! I got my daughter workbooks to teach her cursive because she likes to do brush lettering with me but now that they don’t even learn cursive!!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I've already started practising with your first worksheet (from the earlier clip on handwriting), and I've just downloaded these, too. I will keep my cursive handwriting as it is (well, work on making it look neater but not really change it) but I do want to learn how to print neatly which I can't. One of the only times I will actually go on the UA-cam app…. Had to come show some likes and I heard you mention something and I wasn’t sure if it was the printable you shared before when you did a handwriting video. I definitely agree with regular hand writing and brush lettering consistency is so important, it’s also so hard!! Even with graph lines, once I get writing I slowly end up on the wrong line 🙈 thank you for this!! Would love some more lettering from you or doodling!!

I left cursive handwriting after seeing your writing now I write in your handwriting but my handwriting sucks so I gota practice for more consistency thx for the tips.❤
Thank you for sharing your experience Helen! I feel like I have been in a struggle with my handwriting for the longest time... It sort of started when Uni started and I have much more time to do writing, then I decided to practice my handwriting and make it pretty. Then I sort of just started copying all the other handwritings but changed it again like after 1 year. And now I'm just at this stage where I totally cannot control my handwriting at all T.T I also think it has something to do with me writing with my hand rather than with my arm, which would reduce the strength of my writing, so I can write longer. Writing on a notebook that a just a bit taller than the desk is really giving me a problem at resting my hand. A sad reality for me :')
I did buy my daughter workbooks for her to learn though. To her things in cursive (like a lot of documents from history) look like a foreign language!!
The only thing keeping me going right now are fountain pens and Helen’s videos 💗💗💗

I just was doing a free course for pointed pen calligraphy but I’ve done a few for brush lettering. I just think it’s so pretty!!

There is so much for this online - look at Pinterest. I got my daughter a lot there, then I print and laminate and she uses dry erase markers etc.

Do you do brush lettering?? There are a lot of things to help you find your own style once you have the basic strokes
