If everyone is wondering why my truck had a really hard time starting is because my FICM was going bad but Now there a brand new one in it and its running like a champ as of today
@@locallandscapinglawncarel.6328 Fuel Injection Control Module - it is located just behind and under the coolant reservoir - drivers side - several videos on how to test the FICM and replace it if it is bad. Connectors are a bit of a bear but it is not too hard to test and replace if you have a multimeter and basic tool skills. Can save you from paying a mechanic a lot of money.
it does not matter what you do, if they are not plugged up and its cold they are the hardest starting trucks I have ever owned lol. ficm helps but cold is cold.
Hey man Thank you for this. I watched some pile of videos in the last month. This is the first one I’ve watched that is identical to mine. Did you due any voltage checks on the ficm or just replace?
hello, can i borrow a part of your video for my compilation? of course I put a link to your original video in the description :) what was the temperature if you happen to remember?
Oh trust me, my 7.3 is much worse. It cranks for about two minutes and then finally starts, lopes like crazy for a minute then starts to runaway and then just dies.
Why would anyone want to do that ? I guess if they like replacing Transmissions all the Time. Or replacing Body's and Frames cause there Rotting All Out. Junk Dodges.
I was about to shit myself I thought that said 2747 miles, like damn.
Me too😂
About to buy one with 40 miles on the engine, 97k on the body.
Maxwell Green it’s already fully bulletproofed. Almost everything you could think of.
Same
Same tho 😂😂

What is a FICM and were is it located on the truck? Thanks
@@locallandscapinglawncarel.6328 The fuel injector control module aka ficm is located on the driver side of the engine behind the degas bottle.

Gm how are you today
Same stuff today 17 degrees, new glow plugs and wiring
If you would have plugged it in...you wouldn't have had this great video. Wax on...Wax off...everything happens for a reason. I'm drunk.
BurtBartlow lol
sounds like a combo of glow plug problems and injector suction. use archoil in your next oil change and check your glow plug system

Stiction! Use archoil with your next oil change. That will most likely fix the issue.
sounds like a Detroit 2 stroke hunting on a cold start
I'm glad I watched it bro. My shit is doing the same thing
I was about to say sound like ficm not cold start but i see you acknowledged it already
Pulg it up?
I'm hurt after watching this
Good grief I think 3 glow plugs are working.
Hey man

The Ficm was bad it wasn’t putting out the right voltage to fire the injectors correctly

Sure, and I believe it was 20°F that day, if you could give me a shout out too that would be great helps my channel out and yours out as well lol
The car probably has sitting a long time in the snow or the snow is messing up the engine
Just curious how cold exactly was it?
If you'll hold it to about a thousand RPM it won't die
Trying to hold a cold diesel at even 1000rpm can be hard and it can stall when trying to rev it
Ficm module. My truck was doing the same exact thing
Where is the temperature gauge?
Not getting the oil pressure it needs
That’s what Negative Forty Five will do.
I love that idle
0:57 stalling out
FORD!!
is this 6.0 bulletproofed or stock?
Really dude it only had 2k miles on it u really think it's bulletproofed😂😂
Jacob Leach it has 82k LMAO
Jacob Leach 82747 idiot
Diesels R Life the 8 is hard to make out
@@jacobleach2849 it's 82,747 Miles. Not 2,747 Miles.
Give it a little gas
kinda sounds like its loping 😂
It doesn't get better either. We have a 2006 at work that if it is not plugged in below 45*, it will not start...
O wow it should fire right up at that temp it could be the glow plugs not workin correctly
+Adam T my buds 05 wont start if its below -5 (unplugged) anything else it starts right up luck of the draw i suppose
+me2456 -5 is fucking cold so I'd be damn proud that it'd start that cold unplugged
Nellson Stout well depends where you're from lmao
+me2456 not luck of the draw...issue that needs to be resolved

she was definitely cold.
Incorrect motor oil put 15w40 and ready .... use the acite indicated in the service book
Antonio Cervantes Huh?
crank faster than idle ...
Plug it in
cycle the plugs!!
sounds like a tractor
well yeah it has a 6.0L V8 diesel
Ficm
I wish my mileage was that low 😹
82,747?
@@geoculus5606 obviously ur eyes are better than mine bud
@@chaiselabrie6965 Haha, you're not the only one who didn't notice the 8. They didn't make it as distinctive as they should have. ;)
@@geoculus5606 u aren’t kidding lmao
6.BOOM
Chris John Michael nope thats a 6.4
Ford and gypsies don't work in the winter :D
Needs Archoil.
Put it to the mat
Why don’t guys who make these videos plug their seat belt in. That chime is annoying as F$&@
Jesus 2k miles wow
Loren Cooper 82k
4 letters.... FICM
Ficm is weak, need to get it rebuilt and upgraded to 58volts
Bad FICM my 06 did same shit
Get a Triton V10
Hell naw to the naw naw naw
Wouldn't be a problem if you had a gas engine!
This clown should not own a Diesel vehicle of any kind. Poor truck!!!
Buy a Cummins.
Why would anyone want to do that ? I guess if they like replacing Transmissions all the Time. Or replacing Body's and Frames cause there Rotting All Out. Junk Dodges.
Just replace the FICM.
