I have the 98 gasser 5.9. I would say these are great trucks. Btw i see you jave a dashmat too. Lmc truck sells dashes so you don't have to have massive holes in your dash anymore. I did a dash swap on mine and its so much better!

Freaking love it bro! Need to learn how to downshift like that though lol. That's nice and smooth. Also, how'd you mount your CB? I have a mount that some guy made for my Dad when he owned the truck back in the day, but its a flimsy piece of crap that never got upgraded. Definitely doing what I can to restore and improve the rig now though...which includes being able to talk to my fellow road warriors. 😂

And heck yeah man restore it!! That will be awesome definitely post videos on it I'd like to see it!! And yes mine is a 97 2500. 60 front 80 rear 3.55 gears im running 16 inch wheels with 33s right now until they wear out then I'm going to 35s

@@vacountryboylifestyle5097 sorry for the late reply! The notification got lost in the feed I guess.
Sounds like you got a great truck spec yourself! I think I can visualize your CB mount too. Looking at mine I should be able to make a similar modification and get it ready for my larger CB. Ironically it's the same one you have installed.
About the restoration...I definitely want to do it, but I'm a bit unsure where to start.
Firstly there's the immediate maintenance issues and repairs like new rotors, clutch, 5th gear fix and such, but someday I'd like to go really deep and pull everything apart, sandblast the frame rails, cab, bed, and repaint everything. Send out the engine for a total rebuild with forged parts, completely new wiring...the works. Eventually I want to make it into my main (small) hauling rig. Perhaps even the truck that I can retire with someday!
But the total bill for that...I don't want to even guess at right now. Baby steps.
I'll definitely post some videos of what I can do myself though, probably on a dedicated channel! Definitely want to keep mine alive as long as possible. This specific generation has its flaws, but it's still special.

Mine has no computer for the engine. I don't know if a auto computer with affect the engine if it has a 5 speed but hardest part for my swap was trying to find a donor truck but you can do the swap without the donor truck you just have to find the pedals and all.
