I LOVE that mars light! I was waiting for years for it to be added back on and when I saw her with it in 2016 I just about peed my pants with excitement! I hope it stays on her forever!
@@fortwaynerailroad How about releasing a 611/765 doubleheader for the 1984 NRHS Convention in Ohio please? BTW I love that old Nathan 6 Chime and that guest whistle like the PRR K4 3 Chime too!
Thank you for sharing! Love the shots in Vermilion, Lorain, and Wellington. Now I get to hound my family and ask why they didn't know this was going on at the time!
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw those shots on the W&LE. Made me remember Hopewell Productions coverage of the 1982 trips over that line. Definitely a good stretch of railroad to prove an engine and its crew are capable of quick and efficient movement over a line.
Matt Gaming thank you for the reply. That would be so cool if they changed the tune now to this tune from the 80s. It just sounds so majestic and cool!
oh the city massillon is at 1;15 the old pennsy shops in fort wayne had a steam hammer that was made there at massillon foundry, they made many hammers there and machines much like erie, chambersburg ceco, morgan engineering, and niles bemont pond, and other smithing and blacksmith shop for railroads equiptment was made by ajax, and national machine the bolt and rivet makers and bulldozers that would be used to shape things in the blacksmith shop, there was also bradly hammers, and the famed nazel hammers that were self contained air hammers with the air compresser built in, and bell and baudry, though you also had rr shops that cast their own machines such as bass made many of their own machines in fort wayne, and the old mount clare works where the b and o built their own stuff and their home base in baltimore, vertical integrated, but that was a differant time when we made more of our own stuff in this contry just like lima built all the stuff for the locos like 765 pretty much from scratch casting their own frames and making the rods and drive gear, and forming their own boiler and fireboxes, under sheet rollers, a 750 ton flanging press 4 post, and a 17 foot bull riveter to put it all togather I belive it went up to 150 tons of force on the ram, cept for the mud ring those were usually done by hand
I think you meant the U.S. Constitution...Ohio didn't become a State until 1803. Love the footage otherwise...I remember 765 coming through Conneaut quite a bit growing up. Always missed it when NS began running 611 and 1218 on excursions instead of 765.
I have a question. If I remember correctly I saw in the live chat something about the date for PTC being installed on 765. Was that a planned date to install it? Is there a future plan? I've been concerned about this for the past several weeks .

What a beautiful video! Alot of hard work again by the 765crew. Thank you!

PineTreeLooms Don’t worry. It will.
Y’all need too release some 1987 footage of the 765 pulling the new river train. And good video by the way! I love that old Nathan 6 chime

When i saw the 765 on the W&LE i just pictured a real W&LE berkshire in service. IT LOOKS LIKE THE 765 WITHOUT THE NUMBERBOARS
The 3 chime IIRC was i think the same one used in the rathole trips for the Knoxville convention in 82
Would love to see a 261/765 doubleheader excursion in Illinois in the future!
Heading from New york to Chicago to st. Louis to pensilvania. Welcome aboard the THE CONSTITUTION LIMITED

What even happened to 765’s old whistle? You know, the one that screeches and sounds incredible! The whistle at 17:06
PineTreeLooms it has the same whistle now I believe, just with a different tune.

That old whistle on 765 used to sound like a ghost train from the past!
Thank you for sharing this for us I love steam train's this hit the spot
I want more of these films @FWRHS Love the 765 I want a cab ride 😁😍
Amazing footage! Thanks for sharing! I especially love the shots at Massillon and Beaver Falls.
It almost looks like the East Coast version of the 4449 Daylight with the oscillating headlight. It was removed from the 765 in 1988
Nice
The PRR K4 3 Chime on 765’s second valve just definitely sounds like LIRR G5 39 and PRR K4 1361!

Is the second whistle a Pensy 3 Chime?

Ah that’s nice, thanks.
Amazing locomotive.
Out of curiosity what were the dates for these excursions (I know it happened in 1987 but what days)?
i love it
That was a good video but thanks for put this on youtube
Where is South Buffalo? Is it by Buffalo, NY?
Why has the NKP 765 been the shops for so long?

Where is it now? And will it go back to pulling excursion trains after all this madness is over?
