Took my entire P-bass apart and had it put together and set up with these pick-ups being installed. One of pick-up pieces was faulty but the guy who setup the bass is a magician and fixed it. So my only complaint was the faulty piece of the pick-up... That being said they sound AMAZING and are super versatile. The bass has been set up with a low B, so it's tuned BEAD and the pick-ups handles the low tuning amazingly. I would recommend these pick-ups for playing hard and/or heavy stuff. All in all I love the sound that i get from these.
I got a set of the riffblasters installed in my p bass last month and they sound so goddamn massive when paired with the orange terror bass head I also got. Converge is one of my biggest influences and I'm not afraid to show that on my sleeve.
Installed these onto my filled down BEAD-standard p-bass and they sound crazy good with all of the low end I have. Running that through distortion and... man...
Man, I love these musicians (especially of course when performing as Converge), but hearing Nate play such a classic Black Mountain riff... It just makes me love em even more :)
the precision bass is just the best bass texture of all time. you can turn off the bridge jazz pickup and get it familiar, but nothing beats a precision.
Bass sounds awesome. But it’s hard to even tell what the pickups sound like with 2 gritted out amps and an eq boost rolling. None the less cool set up.
@demovids Nate im about to pull the trigger on these but i play a pj. always been a p guy but its growing on me. has lace released the j pickup to compliment these or should i just rip out the j and slap these in there?
Hey Kurt! Is there anyway we can hear these pickups running without any gain or distortion? I'm running through a bass Big Muff and also an ODB-3, but I'd like to hear the clean tone straight through a DI if possible.
@bflo1000 He definitely wasn't playing them clean, unless they're active and have distortion built into the preamps. You can't really tell what they sound like in this demo. Majority of the tone in this video is coming from his setup, not the pickups.
This is the best bass tone ever
No!
@@MN-de Yes!
Always a pleasure to hear 'Hell To Pay' whatever the context!

Nice, been considering getting a P and using these pickups and also tuning in B.
This channel is amazing. I have been waiting for this my whole life.
Some of the nastiest bass tones I've heard. But it's so clear too. Awesome.
Ive watched this video like 50 times and know the whole script
Newtons a legend
Just met Nate a couple days ago in Bremen and man was that bass tone was just mesmerizing, great dude is as nice as he looks
So stoked on this whole channel! Thanks for making these. I've been chasing that bass tone from "Hell to pay". This helped a lot.

Right on man
Are these passive pickups?
@@luka3679 they're passive ceramic pickups that are pretty close to having an "active" tone

Why’d you type two comments lol
Finally Nate gets a rig rundown! Any chance you could go in to your Old Man Gloom rig?
Love you Nate!!! PEOPLE... PLEASE TRUST ME!!!! From about 1:50 change the speed to 0.25 watch it all .... You're welcome!

Fuck I love that sound. So heavy
Very good video... Short but straight to the point!...
been waiting for this too much. Finally... thanks!!!
The tone is there straight into the amp. I love that.
Nate looks like Tom Araya a bit in this video :)

Hey what kind of vest is that?
This is identical to my guitar tone and it sounds so fucking good on the bass.
the precision bass is just the best bass texture of all time. you can turn off the bridge jazz pickup and get it familiar, but nothing beats a precision.
Sick
Does anyone know the settings he used on those, and what was on his pedal board? Tryna get a rig like his
I'm a humble man... I see a nate.. i click a nate.
As a player I'm not a p-bass fan but never have I wanted this type of configuration so badly
This Cool!
that tone is killer .. Gah dam
It would be nice to hear it clean
Screw Dingwall / Darkglass generic bass tone, why can’t every bass sound like this?!

Anyone know Who else play bass like him?
I really dig his strumming playstyle
What are your cabs loaded with?
@demovids Nate im about to pull the trigger on these but i play a pj. always been a p guy but its growing on me. has lace released the j pickup to compliment these or should i just rip out the j and slap these in there?
Jazz basses are great but just let that P be a P, my dude
What's the song from the beggining?
Mountain, "Never In My Life".
Need more doomriders
Black Mountain!!
This guy is too cool
The Heads fuck yeah

Real talk, got a shitty bass with a PJ set up, is there a J bass pickup that would mix pretty well with this?
jaclax96 I don't really use j basses but Lace does make a J pickup
We are currently working on a J bridge that will pair up with the Riffblasters.
LaceMusic damn that makes my life easier, sick
demovids Hi Nate, you have a cool rig but I was wandering if you use the same rig for Old Man Gloom?
P.S. I need a new OMG album, please.
@@LaceMusic any update on that?
Sounds like it was crated by the gods... bass gods
0:20 to 0:29 seizure warning
argh... my eyes
I’d like to hear it clean!
"Punching bad tone in the dick since 1979."
Who is this? What band? No info in title or info section.
He plays in Converge and Old Man Gloom. The riff he plays at 3:10 is from Converge - Hell To Pay. Enjoy!
He literally says it in the beginning of the video
