MND SA in South Australia, Australia
Laurel Hospice at the Flinders Medical Centre in South Australia, Australia
In the simplest terms, MND attacks and kills the motor nerve cells within the brain and spinal cord, essentially destroying the means by which messages from the brain and spine are sent to control all the body’s voluntary muscles. When they are gone, the muscles waste away and die, taking with them the ability to move forever.
The disease marches on, trapping the sufferer within his or her own body, until the muscles that control breathing die, leading to a gradual suffocation and ultimately respiratory failure and death.
MND is uncommon but not rare. Recent statistics estimate there are approximately 2,200 people in Australia currently diagnosed with MND. 400 new cases are diagnosed each year and the average age of onset is 50 years old.
In sickness and in health... in the face of such a cruel disease, he personifies a real man.
Yes very much!!❤❤❤
Rest In Peace Anna, no longer suffering, whole again, Anna's sunset was on December 16, 2020, what a beautiful family!
so sad she is gone but so happy she is in heaven, healthy and happy where one day her whole family will be reunited. I cried and cried during this video to see how much love and care he husband gave her. Wow he had so many responsibilities to take do each day. Amazing man for sure!
The poor woman. Her husband is amazing. An angel who walks amongst us all. Motor Neurone is such a cruel disease, one of the worst. I just hope and pray a cure is found soon. 🙏❤️🙏
Yes, her husband really loves her. Motor Neurone Disease is beyond awful. I pray for a successful treatment.
He is definitely an angel. Please God find a cure for this disease 😢
This husband is an inspiration to every human being. A man of character and integrity.

What a lovely, caring husband.
You can tell he loves this woman unconditionally. What a cruel disease!
The love shared between this husband and wife is like no other. They way he tenderly touches her and cares for her is beyond any words can express. Thank you for sharing your journey.
What a wonderful husband and s wonderful family ⭐☘💔❤
What dedication this man is to his wife. Unbelievable support and love for his wife. An awesome husband and father.
His dedication is incredible to see.
I'm so sorry for your loss. You treated Anna with dignity, patience, kindness and above all else, love.
What happens to people who don't have a loving family supporting them? Blessings to this family. 🙏
Anna's husband's care and love he gave to his beautiful wife brought tears to my eyes. Caring for a loved one is a tough role but he is awesome. Sorry to read through the comments that Anna passed away from this cruel disease but better care she could not have wished for. This was a couple that took their vows seriously and stuck to them.
No one should have to live that way. That said the power of family is never to be underestimated.
Seeing this small film of Anna and her family made me happy, seeing the love in this family. My own problems seemed futile. Best wishes from Sweden 🇸🇪
I didn't feel like that . I wudent want to Live like that I'd want my life ended . No quality of life .most humane thing is to help loved one die peaceful with dignity . To me was so cruel to watch her suffering 💔😥 xo thankfully she is at peace now 🙏
This family is truly extraordinary. What a truly touching love story, not just between the husband and wife but also their kids. This is the real thing!! The way he cares for his wife is just so tender and gentle, and the kids support for their mother is wonderful to see. This is an awful disease, and they are handling it so incredibly. I don't know where they get their strength from, but thank you for sharing this story and touching my heart.
My mum had MND progressive bulbar palsy she also enjoyed a drink, she would have a glass of port in her ‘peg’ when we had our ‘happy hour’ at 5. I bought some prawns for her to taste in her mouth. She to would not let this disease get her down. We would chat on my kids doodle’ board. We would laugh when she forgot how to spell some words. I had to guess what she wanted to say one day and I got it all wrong and she laughed so hard. 💕
What a Amazing husband he is ! He truly loves his wife which is all you can ask for . His full dedication to caring for her is beyond amazing . He is a Angel .
In sickness and in health. I salute you both for honouring your beautiful commitment to one another. Much 💕 and hugs

What a wonderful man. My sister in-law has ALS . My brother her husband takes care of her. They have been together for 34 years. They have so much love for each other. My brother will always be by her side. She is on ventilator 24/7. Thank you for your story. God bless you
He's an absolute treasure. Not many husbands would do this for their wives. ❤️
Very touching. You should be very proud of yourself. Your love and care for your wife and is nothing short of admirable.
Really pulls at your heart strings. The care for her is amazing.
This man is an absolute inspiration. I’m so sorry what your family has had to go through. Xxxx
How beautiful is all the support Anna is receiving 💖. Her husband is a gem. You can tell that they’re a very loving family. Love to you all from USA💖💖💖💖💖
She's got a great family, I wish her well.
Anna is so beautiful and the husband is like an angel on earth. The kids are amazing...my kids hate anything that remotely looks like a sickness....if I were to become ill, they would barely visit. I love this family!
I'm healthy and we never argue and they still don't visit.

You have to say you never know. When really faced with serious illness it can change an awful lot of attitudes. If it comes to the point where children (however old they may be) realise they really could lose you, their mother, you could be surprised. But let's hope you never have to find out!
Dear Anna and Scott, our heartfelt thoughts are with you and family and your 3 beautiful children. Thank you for sharing this inspiring and touching video. May you be well and keep up the fighting spirits. Love from The Yeos. 💞
Thank you for taking the time to watch and your kind words and generosity to the causes. Much appreciated. XX

I am so saddened that this has happened to Anna at such a young age, my age. My mum had bulbar mnd and passed away within 6 months of diagnosis. I feel for you all ☹️
I'm so sorry for your loss
What a good man!! She’s so lucky to have him. ❤️😘

What a beautiful reminder in making a video, and the bravery you showed throughout such heartbreak. It really is a shocking illness I pray there be a cure and more is done to investigate why this happens. Sending love, light and healing love.
You sir are a wonderful person! It is such a hard job to do! I know my husband would do the same. Know she is perfect now!
What an amazing family…God bless you all ❤️
simply beautiful
I wouldn't want to live like that! My sister had Lewy Bodies Dementia. She had round the clock caregivers in her house in Ridgefield, CT. Her last 3,were in the assisted living facility, The Residence, in Darien, CT. Thks to the medical staff, including care givers and Hospice, who took such great care of my sister. She died peacefully in her sleep on Jan 27, 2021.
Dear Scott, what an inspiration you are as a caregiver for your beautiful wife! My husband and I are beginning this journey together and my hope is that I can be the best caregiver possible for him! Thanks for sharing your story! Praying for you and your family!
Hi Linda, thank you for your message. Trust you and your husband are going okay and getting all the help you need. I wish you both the best, stay positive and keep smiling no matter how hard it gets.
A perfect portrait of a very strong loving man . Worth his weight in gold. God bless Anna.
I supported a lovely lady with MND so have a good understanding of Anna and her families struggles. I'm glad to hear she has passed to the next life. Big love to her family and friends, please don't forget there are no goodbyes in this life, it's just cheerio until we meet in the next 💝

Nice to meet you Anna and Scot
I had a friend pass from Motor Neuron Disease
It was a relatively slow progressive journey
Wishing you all the best
Thank you Elizabeth for watching.
this is a beautiful story and all of us have compassion except for the VIOLA person below who is clearly void of any humanity. Boston MIT is close to a cure...
thanks for sharing your story here. My wife was just diagnosed with PBP and we begin at the early stages with speech and swallow problems.
Hi Craig, thank you for the message. I wish you and your wife all the best in the challenge ahead. As hard as it is stay positive and keep living life to the max no matter how hard it might get. Happy to chat anytime, please message with an email and I will send you my number. Thanks Scott
What a beautiful short film, such a lovely family. May your beautiful Mother and wife be forever remembered in your hearts. Thank you for sharing, sending love, strength and prayers always ❤🙏
What a lovely family!
Fibromyalia also, we put through so many tests before final diagnosis. Can take couple of yrs. N I eventually was in denial when I found out especially being so fit n healthy then next have a disease that cripples n changes your life overnight. The meds itself messes us up. The pain n muscle spasms daily especially in winter gets so bad. I can only imagine what MND patience go through. Worst is people don't believe that we have a condition n treat it like a mental problem which can easily be erased. Thank God for Annas husband support
MND has a life expectancy of about 27 months from the time of diagnosis. I empathize with you having fibromyalgia, but fibromyalgia is not a terminal disease. Still, I hope you can find comfort.
I have fibromyalgia. Comparing the two is insane. The fact that you are able to type this comment shows how much less serious fibro is.This isn't about you. Pathetic.
Why are you comparing fibromyalgia and mnd in the same breath the video is about Anna and her family not about you seriously get a gripand stop being so selfish.
It makes me super sad families with a sick relative around the world also needs to be ruined when caring for their loved ones.
What an amazing man!!
Such a great love 💕 story!
Thank you for sharing xx ❤❤
What a man!

The cruelest disease I’ve witnessed in my family.
What an amazing gentleman. Such a horrific disease. Xx
Her husband is a top bloke who has faced this with her and as much as he is able to - battled it beside her. Though when she is gone he will experience sadness and perhaps even survivor guilt sometimes. I hope there are people there to remind him what a great job he did.
That smile is enough for me 🥰🙏🌺
So sad...so brave her husband
Such a cruel illness and such a caring family
I think this is the worst disease ever. Wish they could find a cure or something to really slow it down.
