MND SA in South Australia, Australia
Laurel Hospice at the Flinders Medical Centre in South Australia, Australia
In the simplest terms, MND attacks and kills the motor nerve cells within the brain and spinal cord, essentially destroying the means by which messages from the brain and spine are sent to control all the body’s voluntary muscles. When they are gone, the muscles waste away and die, taking with them the ability to move forever.
The disease marches on, trapping the sufferer within his or her own body, until the muscles that control breathing die, leading to a gradual suffocation and ultimately respiratory failure and death.
MND is uncommon but not rare. Recent statistics estimate there are approximately 2,200 people in Australia currently diagnosed with MND. 400 new cases are diagnosed each year and the average age of onset is 50 years old.

Much respect for this man, and for his wife 😢
The cruelest disease I’ve witnessed in my family.
Anna's husband's care and love he gave to his beautiful wife brought tears to my eyes. Caring for a loved one is a tough role but he is awesome. Sorry to read through the comments that Anna passed away from this cruel disease but better care she could not have wished for. This was a couple that took their vows seriously and stuck to them.
What a hero of a man, it scares me me as I have my own autoimmune issue. This guy is tops and that’s coming from a guy
Thank you for sharing xx ❤❤
My heart breaks watching this, so much love here and so deeply sad. ❤😢xxx sending prayers and love to your family from the UK.
A perfect portrait of a very strong loving man . Worth his weight in gold. God bless Anna.
why do you torchure her? let go
What an amazing husband an family you our. I’m currently going through this with my mum and it’s the same type of MND, your video has helped me in many ways. You have given me insight into ways I can make her more comfortable thank you.
It makes me super sad families with a sick relative around the world also needs to be ruined when caring for their loved ones.
People shud be allowed to get end ther suffering. No animal is left to suffer its heartbreaking that peopke are denied this option xo 😢💔
My brother has been diagnosed having it..I begin caring for him..looking at how this man doing so manythings so amazingly, truly touch my heart deeply. I've got to be strong so I can do my best..
Brilliant man! It is sad story but positive and brave! Rest in peace anna
God bless you all. You all showed such strength and love for one another ❤
What an absolutely beautiful family. Sending love to them.
What a beautiful reminder in making a video, and the bravery you showed throughout such heartbreak. It really is a shocking illness I pray there be a cure and more is done to investigate why this happens. Sending love, light and healing love.
❤
What a beautiful short film, such a lovely family. May your beautiful Mother and wife be forever remembered in your hearts. Thank you for sharing, sending love, strength and prayers always ❤🙏
Thank you Anna’s family for sharing exactly how and what you had to do daily to care for your beautiful Anna. Again, thank you.❤
I thought i had this when i was 22. Was initially convinced i had MS, but after the lumbar i was told it had come back ‘negative. Initially i was pleased, but then realised the only other thing it could be was MND. Luckilly, the nurse made a mistake; it was positive. It was MS. But i feel like i was lucky it being MS and not MND or a brain tumor. MS still sucks, but im sure someone is looking down on me and protecting me❤
It doesn’t seem to matter how fit you are or how well you look after your health. So sad.
What a loverly husband she has so lucky
You know I listen to these people who vilify. Big pharm they forget how much money it takes and work to find a cure. It pisses me out that they carry on like this without big pharm and their Work thousands would be dead
god bless you and your family... this is a devastating disease, and you are one amazing hubby taken care of her so preciously...Cant even understand and hope i never do... but if i do i pray my hubby will take care of me like you did your sweet wife!..
Oh Anna😢
This man is amazing!!! As she is also ,beautiful family 🌟
God bless Anna. And what an incredible husband and family xxx
Her husband is a top bloke who has faced this with her and as much as he is able to - battled it beside her. Though when she is gone he will experience sadness and perhaps even survivor guilt sometimes. I hope there are people there to remind him what a great job he did.
May Anna's beautiful soul rest in peace. She will always be with her family, love never dies, she was blessed to have such a wonderful husband kids family and friends. I cried throughout.
Un buen esposo que cuida de su esposa ❤bendiciones

I was recently diagnosed with Neuromuscular Scoliosis not nearly as devastating but chances are I will eventually need wheelchair. Blessing 😢
This man is awesome. Ma y others would have run away. God Bless him. This women is very lucky.
The family is inspirational
I supported a lovely lady with MND so have a good understanding of Anna and her families struggles. I'm glad to hear she has passed to the next life. Big love to her family and friends, please don't forget there are no goodbyes in this life, it's just cheerio until we meet in the next 💝
I have lost 2 young cousins to this horrible disease it's really heart breaking
what an amazing man and children. So much love and devotion
This husband is an inspiration to every human being. A man of character and integrity.
I'm so sorry this woman was afflicted with this horrible disease. But sometimes when God takes something from us, he gives us something extra special. She was clearly blessed with a man who truly loves her. He said something wonderful. Something I think all women wish their men would think about them. He said I love her, and I am her biggest fan. In some ways she's a lucky woman.
This man is an absolute inspiration. I’m so sorry what your family has had to go through. Xxxx
Seeing this small film of Anna and her family made me happy, seeing the love in this family. My own problems seemed futile. Best wishes from Sweden 🇸🇪
I didn't feel like that . I wudent want to Live like that I'd want my life ended . No quality of life .most humane thing is to help loved one die peaceful with dignity . To me was so cruel to watch her suffering 💔😥 xo thankfully she is at peace now 🙏
RIP lovely lady, you have a beautiful family! 💟
