Nice choices, glad you did the challenge. It was great to see you mention Jeanne Dielman and the concept of the "anti-spectacle" as I was thinking so much about anti-spectacles when I did my list, and now I'm thinking of doing a top list of anti-spectacle films haha.
Thanks vulgtrog. It’s great how an idea can then produce off-shoot ideas like a beautiful film tree. A tree of celluloid life if you will. Look forward to your anti-spectacle video even though it should be audio only haha.
@@benvanasse3397 thanks Ben. You have been one of the brave stalwarts who have watched my ramblings for all these years. I appreciate your knowledge and enjoy your comments. Jeanne Dielman is a fascinating film, once I realised what was going on haha.
Hi Ronin. Thanks so much for doing this response, and for the kind words. As with SJS, I’m glad to see you both rose to the challenge easily by naming 10 movies for each category, which others haven’t done yet. These picks are demonstrably you and I liked your approach. Sakuran gets the award for the most beautifully colourful cover art, let alone what the movie is like. Great selections, imagine having a month off work and getting to see all those on the big screen!
@@neilsmoviechannel3199 thanks again Neil for bringing up a fun challenge. Yes I need to take a month off haha. Maybe two. Some films would blow our heads off in 4k 😀
Films I have, but shamefully have not yet watched, The Legend of 1900, Berberian Sound Studio, Baracka and a film presented but not directed by Martin Scorsese called Golden Door! I ordered "Tales of Hoffmann" last week, currently obsessed with Powell and Pressburger!

Hi Ronin - your pick of Jeanne Dielman in the spectacle section encapsulates why I love your channel. Well done!

@dermotfont-wk8gm thanks dermot. A Powell and pressburgher obsession is one of the best obsessions to have.
Agreed 👍!
