2018 TT Practice(June 1) The view from Ballagarey

- If the TT is the Mount Everest of motorcycle road racing, the flat out corner at Ballagarey is the first place to consider supplemental oxygen. Recognized as possibly the most important corner on the 37.7 mile Mountain Course, letting off here, even a little, adds seconds that can't be recovered all the way to Balacrane. This video captures the first pass of all the riders attending this practice/qualifying session in real time. Edits are for entertainment purposes and do not take or add time or speed to the event. I think this is about as close to actually being here as you can get! For the most realistic experience, remember to turn up the volume to almost "ear splitting".
I've watched as many TT videos that I can and I still haven't seen them all but I gotta say, this one has to be the best private one I've seen without any doubt. No talking, No music, no shaky cameras, double camera shot, picture in picture. Awesome. I'll have to figure out a way to make an audio recording so I can use it as my alarm clock tone ;)
Thanks for your feedback and for taking the time to provide it! Your kind words mean alot and make the effort totally worth it. Let's hope the TT will take place in 2021. In the mean time please check out my IOM TT channel (search: "Eric Zinter" or the link: ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=eric+zinter ) for a complete selection of my TT videos. Thanks again!
Such a beautiful mix of sound and vision❤️🦂
Thank you for your kind comments. I'm really pleased you enjoyed my video! You may also like some of my other TT videos. If you are interested search for "Eric Zinter Channel".
Wow, utterly breathtaking, I feel I need some oxygen just watching this from my sofa, fantastic photography also.
Great footage, it gives you a very good sense of speed. Very brave and talented riders.
Thanks for the video! TT fan from Indiana USA!
Class footage excellent camera. It's like been there.........
Yeah right bro
Nothing can even compare to actually being there
Thats good footage specially cause you can really hear the different manufactures machines as they come and go and change gears..
Brilliant footage
simply awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely insane speed. Amazing!
Perfect Video Grazie Merci Thankyou
Thank you for posting!
Totally awesome footage . Thanks
Yet more truly stunning footage, Eric. I've never spectated from Ballagery/Glen Vine, so methinks I'll have to remedy that when I'm over for my next TT fix (2019). Many thanks & best wishes to you for uploading these awesome sights & sounds. ;-)
sensibly filmed great footage thank you
at 2:17 , 2 stroke Sutter flying through
At 3:59 there is a massive wheelie!
Aye - & a pretty tasty one from the works Honda (Hutchy?) at 0:32-ish. :-)
Yeah Man Jesus christ
I had to go back to see it because I blinked lol
These riders are so incredibly BRAVE. Ballyscarey!
crazy riders
i'm nice watch TT motors and thank for share😊😊😊👍
Thank God someone makes a video without the ludicrous music (probably for the yanks) over the engine sound. Great job!
Hat man da gar keine Angst wenn man da Filmt ? Ist ja Ultra schnell man Wahnsinn !!! Geiles Video !!!
Top footage again mate, and that is how it's done front and back views with no one speaking but the roar of the bikes, lovely lovely lovely haha :D subbed liked.
Alec Sheen, Thanks again for your positive comments! Its great to hear from you!
Eric Zinter No problem Eric keep up the great footage so I have something to watch everyday at work haha.
I know that this is stating the obvious, but I just can't believe the speed here!
Great video and great idea with the two screens! 👍🏻
Gazza 29 Thanks for your comments! You just triggered some great memories for me. Like getting permission from the property owner (he made sure I understood I could be killed here) and getting stuck in at this spot (approximate location of Guy Martin's 2010 fireball). The sound of birds, which weren't noticable at all, seem deafingly loud once the roads close and traffic goes quiet. Then anticipation builds while waiting for the first distant wail of a bike on the course, getting closer and closer. Until, in an instant, the first rider flashes by. Because it's not normal to be so close to something moving so fast, your primitive brain kind of gets scrambled-- RUN! TAKE COVER! CLIMB A TREE!! I got giddy. And then the next rider passes, then another. Totally intense. I am so lucky to have been able to attend TT , and hope to attend my seventh in 2021 (If we can all beat Covid 19). If attending TT is on your wish list, I hope you are able to manage it. Thanks again for the memories!
Great footage cheers
Excellent film the sound is fantastic. Try and get some footage at the Ramsey Hairpin, bikes are slow enough to get clear shots and the sound as they accelerate up to The Waterworks thru the trees is awesome.
my plan is to get them coming into and leaving Parliament Square tomorrow. Maybe the hairpin in the afternoon. Then Quarry Bends and Black Dub Wednesday and Friday.
Its incredible in that short space 600 feet how quick 200mph goes by they barely show up on video an it all high def...high resolution...but ur standing still..so it tuf
gr8 work thanks
fabio,brasil,sao paulo,santa barabara d oeste..
Very good !
BALLACRANE, and it's 37.73 miles, or 60.72 Kms.
Excellent! How did you manage to get permission to film from someone’s driveway?!
I’m glad you enjoyed my video! I have attended the TT 6 times and have learned few things. Like that if you see a number of people in a garden there is a good chance that the property owner may be receptive to one more (I travel alone). It is very important that you seek out the owner and ask permission. Most people will give permission, but it is polite to ask. In this case he wasn’t real excited (seemingly) to have me (maybe it was the fact I was riding a scooter or maybe it was the American accent) but after explaining to me that there was a chance I could be killed (this was where Guy Martin had his fireball in 2010) he let me watch and video from his garden. I think that if I showed up with a party of friends he may have rejected me.
@@ericzinter9535 Thanks. I was planning on this year 🙄 But am now thinking of the Classic TT/Manx GP in August if the island allows visitors. If not, next year for sure. I’ll look out for you if you’re there!

Sweet! Funny seeing the folks across the road have "vertical camera syndrome"
a neat shot of adrenalin for every spectator everytime a bike goes past. Unfortunately vids can't convey the feeling when something that mechanically violent and outrageously fast flys by you a few feet away. I would urge any folk with a passing interest in motorsport to go see some road racing ("the roads") in the UK and Ireland. (Lovely vid!)
stramasher thanks for your comment! You are right that a video can’t capture the full experience of actually being stuck in a hedge somewhere along the 37.7 mile Mountain Course . A video is safe- it removes the viewer from experiencing the self preservation brain scrambling dose of adrenaline that real life spectating provides with every passing bike. A video won’t trigger the primitive human instinct to flee from what will rightfully be perceived as a life threatening situation. Nor will a video provide the quick blast of radiant heat or delayed breath of air as a bike passes at 180 mph just inches away. And a video just seems to slow the bikes down- they’re faster in real life! 2020 will be my 7th time to the TT and I can’t wait. I never get tired of that giddy feeling when the first bike passes. So I hope that everyone that wants to can make it to a TT one day. If not, I’ll continue to try to make videos that best capture what TT is like.

Super brave!
Thanks..i like the ole in line 4 cyclynders best....the moto gp twins 1000 cc motor sound like someone hitting bamboo sticks together just not the same....i know they are lighter blah blah....still it loses the effect of speed...
Thats me with the camera and my wife and daughter lol
This is how you AVERAGE 2.2+ miles per minute!
太棒了
👏🏼📸😎
rip dobsy!!!
Do the locals let u stand in there driveway there?
Many people on the island are open to allowing spectators to view from their property IF you ask permission first. They expect and deserve that consideration and right of refusal. Whether or not you get permission, depends on the owner. You might have a better chance as a single amateur photographer, than if you were a party of six just from the pub. Some will offer refreshments. Some will accept donations that usually go to a charity such as the hospital. One famous private residence viewing spot is at Sign Post Corner where they have all the creature comforts, as opposed to where I was at Ballagarey where I just had a spectacular place to stand, a warning from the owner that I might get killed there, and nothing else. Be prepared to be stuck where you pick for a long time!
@@ericzinter9535 thanks for the reply mate iv seen that there is a restricted section on the outside of ballagary does that count if its somones property?
@@ryanbarclay9484 I'm quite sure the restrictions do not apply to viewing from a private residence.
@@ericzinter9535 It seems that you are unhappy with fact that someone ONLY allowed you to spectate and video from their home and annoyed that they didn't offer you refreshment for the long day that you choose to watch from their property, did you not go prepared?
Very fast moto bikers

No safety at all for the spectators.
