  • The sE Electronics V7 MK is a kind of cross between the V7 and the V7X. It is affordable and in my opinion no slouch! Review to follow in due course.
"Summer Wind" is a 1965 song, originally released in Germany as "Der Sommerwind" and written by Heinz Meier and German language lyrics by Hans Bradtke. Johnny Mercer re-wrote the song into English along the same themes as the original, which talked of the changing of the seasons using the Southern European sirocco wind as a metaphor. In America, it was first recorded by Wayne Newton and subsequently by Bobby Vinton and Perry Como.
The song is best known for a 1966 recording by Frank Sinatra which peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart... source Wikipedia.
No EQ, no compression, no nothing except reverb. Go to my UA-cam Playlist 'Anton's Covers' to compare with other microphones.
Live @ The BRIT School, many thanks BRIT.

Nice one Anton! I have the ZZ Top version of the V7, one of my favourite microphones I’ve used!

Hi Anton. You are great singer! I wanna buy microphone for studio recording, my voice is baritone. I like a sr314, but is so expensive. What Do you think about rode s1? I loose something if i buy rode, not sr314. I can buy sr314, but i need to know it worth the money.

Thanks for the compliment. The SR314 is excellent IMHO, though be careful with pops or use a studio pop shield. You might want to try the SR117 but the 314 has more luscious lows and a little lift in the highs. I have never tried the Rode S1 and I can't find much in the way of reviews. The Rode NT1 is good but studio only.

My room is unthreat and i think... a buy concert condenser mic... Thank you for your replies. 1) Anton, which audio interface is better for Shure sm7b? I have a Cloudlifter as well. Will do only voiceover for videos. I choose between SSL2+, id14 mkii and Motu m2.
    2) If you upgrade to a more expensive sound card - is rme babyface pro fs the best choice under $1000? I heard that it is even better than the Apollo twin. Do you agree?
I'm only interested in video voiceover right now. Not interested in music. In the future I want to be a voice over actor. I would like the video card to also match the voice - DEEP baritone. Thank you!

Hi, I'm afraid I don't have experience with those interfaces but in my experience, the mic makes way more difference. I know people love it but the SM7B is like a souped-up SM58 in a big case with a ton of foam (possibly because it gets used by amateurs on talk shows etc.) and a high price tag... because they can! I have found mid-range interfaces to be fine for most mics. The SM7B has a low output which makes it challenging, the Cloudlifter adds its own colourations along with the boost. I would keep your interface and try the sE V7 MK or if you can afford it, the Earthworks SR314, I think you will get a cleaner less soggy sound IMHO. Good luck!

Same mic, on closer inspection the capsule is central and perpendicular, it is just the trimming of the rubber. I plan to review the mic soon and will cover that.

They seem to be similar - I didn't know about the MK until someone mentioned it in the comments. I will do a comparison once I have reviewed it.
