When you were talking about Okinawa it made me think of a manga I read this year called In This Corner of the World. You might like that as well. It was also a movie, but I haven't watched the movie yet.
Cool haul 😊We also bought The Promised Neverland 💛The first season really got us hooked, but the second was not nearly as good as the first, so we're looking forward to reading it!
If you’re interested in first hand account of WWII in Japan, you might be interested in “Barefoot Gen”. I saw the anime when I was a teenager and was shocked. I’m collecting the manga because of that experience. Gen is the author telling his story of experiencing the dropping of the atomic bomb while he was on his way to school.
I’ve never heard about that, but that seems right up my alley, I appreciate the recommendation, definitely going to look into that and add it to the list. Thank you!
Barefoot Gen is a masterwork and is one of the most important comic book works of all time, like Watchmen, Maus, Lone Wolf And Cub, Will Eisner importance.
The Deer King novel (that the film was based on) was recently released in English and I enjoy it much more than the manga but I still think both are good.
It might not have been intentional but it absolutely was the right decision to commit to the manga for Promised Neverland instead of watching the anime 🤣The reason season 2 is so hated is because it completely just skipped about 12-13 volumes including the arc that a lot of people consider their favorite and went for a semi anime-original ending that was pretty eh. I had actually liked the season 2 enough personally but when I read it after I was just baffled at how much better the manga is, it's really night and day
It’s pretty much the start of the plot of the whole series, so while it’s not every chapter, I would say it’s a good 60% ( at least a mention of it in dialogue etc. ) of the story as of 30 chapters in so far
I am thinking about picking up all 74 volumes of bleach but I was wondering will a 3 tier bookshelf be enough to fit all volumes or should I go with 5 tier? I see that u have 3 tier bookshelves in the background
I haven’t read any of it yet, it’s one of those that I wanted to wait and get the whole series before starting it, and now that I have the whole series, I need to get around to reading it
@@DanielPeppers Ok, I get that lol. I had to wait on volumes 2 and 4 of the original Viz series and I had to pay $80 for 2 and $50 for 4 before I had the run to read.
I have never read it and what I know of it is what has been in the dragonball manga ( the main character appears…I think might be just anime) but other than the history I don’t know the actual story of the Manga
The promised Neverland has a strong start, but it does get flat later on. The anime was terrible because they wanted to make an anime only ending. Even to the point where they removed an entire arc + character from the series. (Spoiler-ish: there’s no guns) manga is definitely better to collect/read.

I’ll have to check it out, haven’t heard of that manga, thanks for the recommendation!
@@DanielPeppers For sure. Seven Seas made it a 3-in-1 omnibus. I like watching your recommendations as well. Take care
I hope your having a great day! And I really like the video! 🎉🎉 and I hope your doing well 🙏🏽

The Day Huckleberry Cried
Asadora is lovely.... Well, for Urasawa manga kind of lovely
Clamp is amazing. Read anything from them
Maybe you can do a full video on Okinawa if you are down to do it but w video
I’ve definitely been thinking about that, once I finish it, if it still hits this hard, I probably will end up doing a full deep dive into it
@@DanielPeppersI also recommend innocent omnibus it’s about history I haven’t read it yet cause I’m waiting for my order but check it out
Just started the video :) looking forward to the rest of it. How heavily does boy’s abyss focus on suicide ?

I think the 3 tier bookshelf you would be fine you can fit around 25-30 Vols depending on size per shelf without much problems
@@DanielPeppers what are the name of the 3 tier bookshelf you have
You say you heard Monster is pretty good but you have the entire run of Monster in your background.

Reading Dr. Slump! Have you read it or heard of it?
I have never read it and what I know of it is what has been in the dragonball manga ( the main character appears…I think might be just anime) but other than the history I don’t know the actual story of the Manga
There’s 17 volumes of Blood on the Tracks so still got 3 more to go
I think it's pronounced He-Car-Roo (Hikaru)
