Amazing job on the sink correction. The copper made me so nervous at first. Yes, the opposite of blue on the colour wheel is orange, but keep in mind that the blue and orange in hair colouring agents are never pure hues at the same value. Generally, a copper colour at the lightest would be a level 8. The blue that we are seeing is just a tinge on a level 10. There is the risk of the copper having too much gold (yellow) and not enough auburn (red), which will turn the blue hair a greenish dark blonde. Of course, you know what you are doing, and the copper is a quick rinse, plus you did many rinses, shampoos, and a toner after. I suggest using a smoky rose colour first if this happens again, so the pale red will act with the pale blue at the same value to form a pale violet for that platinum finish. Love your videos!!
Girl every time i watch your videos im amazed at the education you provide. Seriously top notch videos im shocked you don't have more followers. Love from a baby colourist in Montreal 💘
I've done bleach for 25 years and I'm still shaking inside each time I do a bleach t-up. Your method is the best way to apply hands down, your knowledge on toning is on another level altogether. I use Schwarzkopf exclusively and it is very fair to say their Varioblonde bleach can be problematic and swells a lot, I use Blonde Me more frequently for roots though a its so fast and the hair is good quality at the end for toning. Excellent job!
This exact thing happened to me before lol I bleached washed with like very watered down bleach for like 3 minutes and it came right out. And her hair was WHITE. It's so validating for me to see you be honest about this type of thing. I value your channel a lot. Thank you
I love that you show all the stuff other creators cut out of their videos! You are so talented and your work is phenomenal!!! I’ve been a hair stylist since 2008 and I started specializing in men’s hair in 2016 but I still enjoy watching educational videos of women’s hair. I have been growing out my hair since 2018 have haven’t colored it since it’s naturally curly and a level 3 I want to go blonde again but don’t trust anyone here in NC to do it! 😂
blondor is powder bleach whithout ammonia. Schwarzkopf has ammonia and that hinders a little bit the additive to deposit- therefore the additive is stronger.
This content is probably the most valuable to all of us, because who doesn’t need to learn how to fix things that can happen out of our control? And whoever is like “I’m just so perfect, I never make any mistakes!” Lies lol! Thank you so much! Oh and the end color is aaamazeballs!
I once also had this happen on myself and I tried vitamin c powder with conditioner and it instantly turned the blue a pink shade which I was able to tone over. I don’t use bleach additives since then but rely on toning instead 😅
I would have used the same approach with the vitamin C or Malibu treatment for chlorine or well water. It's basically ascorbic acid(vitamin c). I have never liked bleach additives. I loved the video! Your application was fabulous. xo
I ordered both the precision blondme and the clay. Along with three other bleachers from other manufacturers and tested them all. Ugly duckling was really good. That's probably my favorite. Second favorite was precision blonde me because it really worked well and it doesn't run. I also tried the blonde me lifting bleaches and they were so so. It's too hard to determine where the color is going. But in any of these cases I did not experience on clients. I used my own hair samples.😅
Her plat hair is exactly the tone of platinum i want. Not too grayish white, its so beautiful. I hate when someone ask for a very unrealistic white or metallic white. I just want this kind of very pale yellow white with a bit of ash but not gray. It looks so natural. But myself being an Asian with jet silky hair i dunno whether turn out to this. And one thing i realised now is that every hair according to its structure turns out differently after bleach. Some a bit bright yellow white some bit flaky white and some bla bla bla. 😂😂But this plat hair is perfect. I have screenshot it inorder to take to my hairdresser. Lol😂
Thanks for sharing. Using a clear with 20 vol could have helped too. I usually do Redken chromatics or color fusion + 20 to get the unwanted tones out.
oh my goodness I think I would faint if that happened to my great training thank you hope I never have to use it .I appreciate you showing that things go wrong for all of us very transparent Love your videos Im learning a lot
I have been wanting to use their blue additives but my stores never carried them when they were in the igora line so now that they moved it to the blonde me and seeing how it turned the roots blue do you think just a dot will help. You used a small amount but maybe cutting That in half do you think that will help have you played around with it more. Oooooo wella is my jam I love blondor. Blonde me and blondor are the main lighteners I use
You are the best I am a retired barber/Stylist but I miss it so much after watching your videos. I think shitshit I wish we had those products and known your chemical knowledge. I live vicariously through your videos. Thanks for always being honest. I always was too.
Holy Toner Batman!! 👏👏👏I have a question tho, being she was a nat level 8, could you use hi-lift color ? I mean wouldn't she be light enough for it to process without any added warmth? Idk!?!?! 😂What is the difference? Ive used it, but that was straight out of beauty school 11 years ago and i messed some hair up learning! I'm always so scared to use hi-lift color, probably from my past experiences and found lightner worked better for me, but it seems like it would be easier than lightner/less damage? Idk!?! I've never been successful using hi-lift😢 maybe it's just me😂😂😂as always THANK YOU for making the mistakes so we don't have to❤
Brandyyyyyy ♥️♥️♥️♥️ hi! As for hilift, I’ve never tried one that I like! Someone needs to create one that actually lifts more than 2 levels and actually deposits ash colours to combat because I always get orange no matter what!
High lift tint can work on level 7 or lighter, with relatively neutral results. (Not necessarily cool) All depends on hair, product used and desired results..and provided application is on point with no overlaps onto previously lightened hair. But they’ll never invent a high lift that duplicates a true bleach and tone result. Especially if there’s grey hair ion the mix. I’ve been double processing for over 40 years. So I know these things. During my 40 years I’ve come across products that are meant to be added to bleach to help keep things cooled off. And in my experience..there not worth the trouble they can cause. Just bleach (decolorize) to appropriate level. BTW nice save!
Wow. My hair took blue too & I used all the bleach/baking soda/dawn/developer etc to back it out. Sadly it was money piece which just kind of fried off :(
The 10-volume developer is a culprit. Not enough oxidation of the blue pigment. The 20-volume mix you used in the back of her head probably didn't deposit as much blue, but we can't really see that from the video. For colourists who use 30-volume or higher, that amount of blue is needed to account for faster oxidation (with the bleach acting much faster to lighten the pigment in the same bowl). It's like adding ice cubes to hot water. If the water is near boiling, the ice will disappear. If the water is only lukewarm, the ice will still be there.
Quick question. I had color correction done because of a yellow band my previous colorist left. Now my hair is a mix of golden and platinum white strands w yellow roots. Is that a matter of getting the right toner to cancel the yellow? I dont even know what to think anymore. The first stylist told me that I and the reason why my hair color won’t lift and that some hairs at the nape of my neck broke off. So I’m trying to say is that I’m pretty tired of watching stylus tell me that I’m the reason why my hair didn’t lift properly even though I had nothing to do with it. I’ve been treating my hair at home with all kinds of masks and creams and everything they recommended including k18, kendra, truss hair and lots of brands i had never heard. I think the reason why I watch your videos is because i am looking for my color with the hope that I can see some thing that I can do or have more knowledge about when i go to the salon. I have paid over 2500 for coloring and cut appointments since January - i live in LA. If you have any recommendations, all are welcome.
@@BobbyHairStudio I can imagine, and it is mad the way silver shampoo plus blue out, iv noticed if iv left an Ash toner on to long and the ends look abit of a bluey grey and iv shampooed it in silver shampoo it does seem to strip it out great tutorial xx
