I can remember when I first started concealed carry about 20 years ago here in Texas. I thought everyone knows I have a firearm on me. But no one ever noticed, I even printed on purpose a few times just to see their faces. but not a single person even looked. We live in a society where everyone is buried in their cell phone and does not see anything around them. I carried large 1911's and even small firearms before, but now a full size does not bother me at all. Comfort is in the way you carry. Now when I wake up I actually feel naked or something is missing until I holster up. Thank you for all your informational videos.
That “Everyone knows I’m carrying a gun” printing thought is definitely something that sticks in your mind your first several times carrying.
It is.
In Arizona, they know because it's on your hip in plane view : )
@@CenturianCornelious there is ZERO tactical advantage in open carrying.
@@WatchMilesTV But it does acclimate people to the right.
@@WatchMilesTV ditto in Alaska 👍🏼
When I first carried, I carried unchambered for a month until I felt comfortable to carry chambered.
Oh no lol glad you wised up
A proper holster that completely covers the trigger is a must have. I'd echo some others here who have said to get training before you start carrying concealed.
Perfect way to get over that anxiety😎
Shouts to the Provectus Group barber with the high skin fade with the part 💯
Training, absolutely necessary for concealed carry.
I take 8 lessons per year plus range time.
I use essentially the same words. I've always told friends and acquaintances who are getting into firearms that their goal should be to get comfortable and competent with their firearms. You don't have to think about bringing that fork to your mouth. Handguns should be the same. Practice so that grip is second nature, dealing with a malfunction is second nature, presenting the firearm to a shooting position is second nature, having that firearm on your body is the same as carrying your phone. You don't want to be a tourist with your guns. There is nothing casual about using a firearm. An "I'm okay" attitude will get your junk shot off or somebody killed. So listed to this man. Get all the training you need, and then get more training. You will feel better about your firearms and the world will be a safer place.
Can you do a segment on why it's safe to conceal carry with a round chambered next?
Great advice !🇺🇸
Thank you.
The guy on this video is the perfect person to educate the people who the world who have no knowledge of guns. Totally should be an instructor!
We love Ken too.
He does a good job. Very articulate.
I been carrying concealed for about a year and half and I feel like I'm still searching for the Perfect Belt and holster combination... My under shirt comes up and still feels like I'm sagging sometimes unless I make my Belt extra tight...Any tips I'm open for
Years ago, when I started carrying, I had to try different holsters and set-ups until I found something I was comfortable with. I know that isn't very specific but different things will feel better on different people.
Use a very stiff, carry-specific belt.
A very light gun, like a p-365.
@@CenturianCornelious I second, a good real leather gun belt, inch and a half minimum.
It's one of those things. I have 2 boxes of holsters. You won't know what you like and what feels comfortable until you use it for about 30 days. Also depends on what you're wearing that day.
Can't go wrong with Kore!
Question: My wife and I are getting ready to get a Conceal and Carry. I am in a wheelchair now. I will be carrying my Beretta Brigadier. What would you recommend how to carry my firearm?
Really best way is just to try different positions and see which is most comfortable and effective for you. I carry appendix and it's pretty comfortable while sitting but my ccw is quite a bit smaller than a brigadier. A good holster really makes a difference too!
what if you wear shorts almost all the time. ?
Pocket carry a S&W 442
@ yeah I use a desantis nemesis for pocket carry
My LCP fits my pocket real good.
That really shouldn't make a difference, it's the shirt that's most important
Belly band
Let see a video about carrying 1 in the chamber.. Unless I miss that one
One in the chamber, yes, usually.
If you are just dropping the gun into your pocket, no. Something could poke through the cloth and trigger it. If you're carrying in a pocket, you'll have no round chambered, so you'll have to rack the slide before it's ready to go. That is generally unacceptable. Too much time.
If you use a hard leather or kydex holster that covers the trigger, then yes, certainly have one in the chamber.
Most of all, know intimately how the gun works. Learn the gun. Load it, shoot it, examine it, actuate it, repeat.
First conceal carry don't from personal experience. Don't use a Sticky holster tucked between you underwear and jeans. It will work its way out.
Never carry an unloaded firearm.
