Nice! Did you have the rudder up while going through the waves? Mine moves around while it's down and when I paddle my 16. Trying to figure out how to lock it when I decide to paddle.
EverydayJoe, Yes the rudder is up going out and in through the waves. If a wave starts to get you going sideways to it, a rudder will make correcting harder and you will probably roll it. There is a lot more to it, but basically rudders are no good in the waves. The paddle is the tool of choice here.
Penn 321gt2 with 60lb braid on a 5'10" Ugly stick tiger lite. You could go with a little lighter gear though. The drag isn't very important, you just need a good saltwater resistant reel. Check out Alantani.com for good reels and maintenance tips. Good luck!
Awesome day out there. Can't wait to see your video from last week.
Nice job guys. Highliners for sure.
Kill fish, are you still chasing chickens from the kayak? If so, I’d like to join you from my pa14 this year
Nice Pacific halibut. I am jealous California halibut are smaller.
Nice Video of paddling and catching...But would've REALLY LIKED some info. Where...What you used...How deep..etc.
Hobby Homesteader yeah, so would everyone else out there.
It took that orange marker float under like it was a fishing bobber! LoL

Killfish Awesome! Thanks for responding! Still learning on my Revo. Also, not many here launch from the beach when there's waves. Mahalo from Hawaii!
Awesome video! How often do you go out?
I would be so scared to be out there in a yak. you're video sick though. what resolution do you have you gopro at?
Nice catch bud. I'am gonna try out halibut fishing sometime this year. And I'am a newbie. Would like to know what kind of rod and reel you were using.

@@killfish76 thanks a bunch
@@killfish76 what action should I use on a 6 foot tiger lite for halibut
@@anastaciamartin4208 mine is 80-130lb but the 6'6" 50-100lb would work just as well for Washington's halibut.
@@killfish76 are you up around ocean shores ?
Hi 5's on that slab! Please CC your films as i am deaf. Thanks
