    Yes, mate, I agree with your belief in giving back to the sea and making the best of every day on the water. Nice to catch just enough for a good meal with family and friends. Also nice to catch the really big ones occasionally.

      Yep totally Nick its always about the moment and maximizing it as much as possible, always love catching some line pullers and haven't seen a lot of them lately so hoping this will change with the start of spring finally here cheers

      Thanks Callum yes a primo day despite the fishing producing a lot of smaller fish. The new Penn Clash is performing beautifully and loving it so far cheers!

    And I was also wondering what softbaits would work best for gurnard?

    • @NZkayakfishing
      @NZkayakfishing  4 роки тому +2

      They seem to like grubs, minnows and jerkshads in colours like nuclear chicken in Berkley Gulp

    Are you gonna keep a 45cm John dory if it's your first fish?

      Now that's a good question and although a tuff choice i would always give the first back out of respect for mother nature. Being an eco hunter gatherer is the ultimate and when its done with the kayak under your own power its even more environmentally friendly cheers

      Classic. I was going to suggest that scenario whereas you hook-up on an absolute trophy fish on your first drop! Back she goes cuzzy! Nah but love your ethic and your clips. Great stuff mate 👍

      NZ Kayak Fishing on your veritas , what’s the line your using? I’m looking at a rod and reel combo, something that can do soft baits and jigs. Was thinking veritas teamed up with the superior or roxani just don’t know what braid to get
