I’m a subscriber to Dr Ken Berry’s wife Neisha’s channel. She has related on her channel that she breastfed both of her children while being ketovore (ketovore is very meat-centric with less than 10g of carbs/day).
Don’t feel guilty about struggling to keep up your breast milk supply. It happens to SO MANY new moms! And there are SO MANY factors that can affect it… diet, fluid intake, STRESS, lack of sleep… MANY factors, all of which are definitely impacting new moms… even MORE so for a mom recovering from C-section! Talk about STRESS ON THE BODY!!
You just have to do the best that you can to take care of YOU and that precious little one! Be gentle with yourself and don’t beat yourself up for making the decisions that work best for you and baby! And definitely don’t listen to the judgements of others who are NOT you, and NOT the mother of your child.
It sounds like you’re doing a great job, and you’re a very conscientious, loving new Mom.
Congratulations on the beginning of your new exciting life journey as a new parent!
Don’t forget to update us from time to time. 😊
Edit: You’re right that you have PLENTY of time to heal yourself! I didn’t discover the healing power of carnivore/ketovore until age 62, and now I’m feeling better than I did in my 30’s (when I was a new Mom on the crappy Standard American Diet. Btw, I had the same supply issues as you and had to give up/switch to formula at 6 wks. I was so disappointed, but didn’t have much help or support, so GOOD ON YOU for persevering!) 👏👏👏
Also, Dr Berry’s wife Neisha is one of the first women who will tell you that she’s NOT strict carnivore or even strict ketovore. She says that she has figured out the most healing/healthy WAY OF EATING FOR HER!
That’s what we ALL have to do! Don’t worry about the “carnivore purists.” Just do what’s best for YOU and your baby!
